I called for an estimate and they were able to make an appointment for the next day. Amy arrived on time. She brought samples and gave me an estimate. She said that they would be able to install within two weeks. I asked if the install could be done sooner because of problems with my neighbor. Amy said that she would try. Several days later I got a call & they were ready to install. The installers arrive, put up with my angry neighbor, and got the work done quickly. They cleaned up everything when they were done. The fence is beautiful and provides me with the privacy I needed. I could not be more pleased with the entire process. Thank you to everyone at Southwest Vinyl Fence.

Angry neighbor was right. Your project was memorable in that it's not too often a neighbor is SO interested in observing every little thing a customer is doing that they become even more upset at the prospect of losing their front row seat to your life. From what I understand, your fence has truly re-proven the adage, "Good fences make good neighbors." Thank you for allowing us to be a part of that. :-)

Thank you very much for the positive review, Ms [membe rname removed], but it appears you may have confused us with another company. Regrettably, we don't have your name or address in any of our records and we don't install chain link fencing. And, we most assuredly haven't had an incident involving the disappearance of a step ladder. Other than that, once again we thank you for the great review.

We've seen this company's fences around town for years. When the high winds blew down part of our wood fence we called them. We were sure it would be expensive with the lifetime warranty, but surprisingly it wasn't much more than the plastic ones displayed at stores. We thought we'd do our own install until we found out you can't use brackets or screws or fasteners to hold the fencing together. We went ahead and paid to have them do their thing and I'm glad we did. There was way too much involved. Installers were professional and actually finished when they said they would. Very impressed and we will use them again in the future.

We very much appreciate the kind words from someone who apparently is not yet a customer. If Lifetime Vinyl is what you really have your heart set on, and you're either waiting for the right time or saving for it, please call and ask for Amy, Richard, Ron, or Dalen. They've been known to come up with very creative ideas to make things work. Just like many other construction materials, the various ingredients that are mixed with liquid pvc as it goes through the extrusion process, are going up in price faster than the rate of inflation. In fact, far faster than one can possibly set aside the money. Rather than watching prices soon get out of reach, it is highly encouraged to learn what options are available for getting your own Lifetime Vinyl project completed.

After researching various pergola options for more than a year, I completely ruled out wood and steel. With my local desert climate and temperature extremes, it was easy to boil my choices down to aluminum or high-density vinyl. This is a big purchase for me and I could only rationalize it IF it's the only one I ever have to buy, AND as long as it stays looking nice without any maintenance. I don't like how the aluminum ones magnify the sound of rain and hail, and I've certainly seen enough of them with hailstorm dents to know I don't want that problem. So...I settled on vinyl. But, metal-reinforced, the way SW Vinyl does them. I had it installed in May and it's beautiful. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my sunshade! Or ramada. Or whatever it's called, because there are so many names for it.. Not only does it stay looking perfect without me having to lift a finger, but it provides the perfect amount of shade. It's become my pets go-to place to lounge. And, it's weird, I've never had so many hot air balloons fly by my house. I swear they've put me on their route so they can check out my pergola!

WOW! Those are simply jaw-dropping photos! Your yard was already gorgeous but, it must be agreed that your showpiece of a pergola just made it even gorgeous-er! We're normally pretty modest around here. If we tooted our own horn over every beautiful job we produce, we'd probably all be deaf by now. Rather, we tend to go about our chosen task of beautifying New Mexico one yard at a time in a rather workmanlike manner. But, from time to time, forgive us if we step back to take a good look at what we do and realize that we do some PRETTY AMAZING FRIGGIN WORK!

The crew had to come on a Saturday to finish off the gate install. They did a good job and even checked again on Monday. The fence was installed about 1 month later and again they did a good job. You get what you pay for here, good quality service and good quality parts so far. The gate and fence have held up well to the recent wind storms and are still looking good.

Thank you for noticing the efforts of our great installers. Each one has taken great pride in becoming expert in such a specialized craft. Lifetime vinyl is unlike any other type of fence installation. Among the many differences, there's no glue, screws, brackets, or fasteners holding the fencing together. As one can imagine, this requires very precise fabrication and installation techniques. It's largely because of these guys SW Vinyl is able to offer fencing you can pay for once and enjoy for the rest of your life.

I admit I am a bit behind in submitting my review, so dates could be off slightly. I called SW Vinyl Fence up after looking at reviews on Angie's List and they were prompt to come over and provide an estimate. I specifically asked for three estimates: separate estimates for each half of the property and one for all of it. They were able to provide me an estimate on the spot and even brought samples of fencing with them. Due to my budget, I was only able to hire them to do the one side of my property where the fence was needed the most. They were able to schedule the work to be done about a week later. The contractors showed up promptly in the morning and were able to complete most of the work that day. One small section of the fence could not be completed because some of the pieces had not been cut to the correct size. They let me know that before leaving and said they would return in a couple days to finish. Sure enough, two days later they were back and finished the fence in a couple of hours. Then fence looks amazing! It has held up extremely well to my dogs and I love how private it is. Thanks SW Vinyl! I will hire you again in the future.

Description of Work: Tore down old cedar fence and installed about 300 ft of new fence and 3 gates. I contemplated doing this for a long time before the high winds blew some of the old fence over and made me make a decision. Please read the services performed data. Overall, the fence is satisfactory and far more attractive than the previous cedar one.
Description of Work: Southwest Vinyl installed approximately 130 feet of fence topper. The installers (a father and 2 sons) were excellent--hardworking and competent. Reinforcing rebar was used every 8 feet extending down to the original footing and farther up into the vinyl posts and then filled with concrete. This is a "forever" fence and is attractive. The only problem I encountered occurred during the installation when I discovered the the height was not going to be adequate for the safety and privacy desired around the backyard swimming pool. (The grade levels on the perimeter between two adjoining fence-sharing lots were 12 inches and 16 inches higher respectively .) The perimeter had not been considered in original measurements. This necessitated a change order and resulted in an additional cost which I felt was excessive. Following some tough negotiation with Ron Cram, SW Vinyl owner, we reached an amicable figure. Ron was professional and open to fair negotiation as a result of the initial measurement problem. I can recommend SW Vinyl without hesitation. TIP: BE VERY SURE THAT BOTH SIDES OF THE EXISTING FENCE IN ADJOINING LOTS IS MEASURED IN ORDER TO GUARANTEE ADEQUATE HEIGHT, PRIVACY AND SAFETY.

We are so pleased with our fencing and with the service they have provided. This is one terrific company!
Description of Work: We purchased vinyl fencing and a gate from SW Vinyl in the summer of 2008. We've loved its easy-care qualities and the fact that whatever lands on it can be easily hosed off. But this winter, after several big windstorms, I noticed that the top rail of the fence was coming loose from its slot in the post every time we had a wind from the west over 20 mph. My husband put the piece of rail back inside the slot for me and then went out of town. While he was gone, a major wind and snowstorm was approaching and I was worried about fence damage. I called Dalen at SW Vinyl and asked him if the joint needed to be glued or anything so it wouldn't come loose again and cause further damage. He volunteered to come out to our house later that afternoon and fix it so it wouldn't come loose--he said they'd developed a few new stabilizing techniques since they'd installed our fencing. An hour later he came out, toenailed the loose rail into its slot, and also fixed a loose bottom rail on another part of the fence that we hadn't even noticed. Then he cemented several of the caps back on their posts so they wouldn't come off. The best part is that there was no charge for the repair work--over 3 years after we'd had the fencing installed!

Started the project and took 2 days to finish---no big deal----when they finished I was away at work and when I came home and inspected the work there were 11 out of 100 end caps missing. Upon further inspection we noticed the 2 rear beams were completely crooked. Brought a level out and both were off---you could even see it from the back sliding window from living room. Called Southwest Vinyl and left several voice mails and several emails to the sales guy------NO RESPONSE-----except for the letter and phone call saying to pay my balance. Left several more voicemails and one more email saying I'm not paying unless someone calls me. Of course the owner called right away when I said I wouldn't pay----He kept trying to raise his voice and say the project is within spec and they took pictures and its fine. Told him he needed to come out and look at it and he did. He apologized and sent the same guy out to fix it. Before the guy came our I specifically asked to not drill anymore holes. The worker just moved some upper beams and made more holes in my pergola. So anyway he tried to pass it off as finished and left. Anyway I again left several voicemails and then decided to offer $500 instead of the $1750 for the balance. They said they would work with me and didn't hear a thing for 3 weeks. Then I get a THREATENING letter stating my credit, my work place and so on and so forth....Long story short I WOULD NOT HIRE THESE UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE TO WALK MY DOG.
Description of Work: I hired this company to come out and put a pergola in my backyard---it was a 11'x17' I ordered a specific color and left a half down deposit to pay the remainder upon completion. They came out and said they would be at the house at 8 and didn't show up till noon.---not a good start---took them 2 day to finish which wasn't a big deal-- done in 2 days see "How did it go overall"

One of the reasons SW Vinyl is recognized for strong customer service is we take the rare customer complaint very seriously. We have spent years building a reputation for paying attention to detail and not finishing any job until we're satisfied a project, your project, could be photographed and published in a magazine, newpaper, or the internet. To underscore this point, 3 photos of this customer's job have just been posted on our website: http://www.southwestvinylfence.com/Arbors_Pergolas_Gazebos.html http://www.southwestvinylfence.com/Pics/mor2Perg9.15.11.jpg http://www.southwestvinylfence.com/Pics/mor1Perg9.15.11.jpg http://www.southwestvinylfence.com/Pics/mor3Perg9.15.11.jpg These were taken on the very day of his complaint. The pergola he alleges is "so completely crooked you can tell from a distance" is actually attractive enough we've added it to our website. His assertion the job was "finished" with missing caps is an impossibility as it could not have been finished without them. As for "crooked posts," we'll let these photos speak for themselves. We always try to give people the benefit of the doubt, so this customer was treated fairly and with patience until his intentions were crystal clear. On 9/10/11, this customer left us a voicemail requesting negotiation of a discount BEFORE his job was even completed! On 9/15/11, he left a voicemail informing us he had decided not to pay the remaining half of the contract he signed ($3750) because of "shoddy work," including the aforementioned crooked posts. Two of the five Cram brothers immediately went out to see firsthand what was surely going to be the first "crooked" install in the history of SW Vinyl. Thankfully, as proved with these photos, that day has not yet come. Even though this customer's complaints had nothing to do with strength, stability, performance, or installation, the owner of SW Vinyl sent the installers back to make some adjustments hoping to satisfy this customer. When the customer still refused to pay the other half of the contract he had signed, we had no choice but to inform him of the potential consequences. We would be more than happy to post that communication here, if need be. We have nothing to hide. The customer paid his remaining contracted balance "under protest" and immediately began posting negative comments on internet review sites, which is what he threatened to do back on 9/15/11 if we did not give him a discount. He was told at that time that SWV will not be cyberbullied nor blackmailed into giving discounts.

Overall we were impressed. Arnold, the installer, was courteous, efficient, and seemed to take pride in his work. When he was done, we complimented him on the fence, which turned out to be quite attractive, and on the excellent job that he did of cleaning up afterwards.
Description of Work: Needed a topper for a 28' section of a four-foot-high cinder-block wall in back yard to provide privacy and security. Discussed it with Ron Cram twice - once at his place of business, where I selected the type of fencing for the job (small-mesh white lattice with contrasting frame) and once when he came to the house to look at the existing wall and give me a final estimate (9/7/2011). The installer arrived on 9/21 with the materials and returned the next day to start the job. Topping a cinder-block wall with a vinyl fence is fairly labor-intensive, as it involves sizing the vinlyl fence material in the shop, then drilling deep into the cinder block on site to set in cement the rebar that supports the vinyl posts.

We live on the westside and have a large dirt backyard. We wanted to fence a portion of the yard and looked at various fence options before deciding to use SW Vinyl Fence. The estimator was prompt and professional and we were given a detailed written estimate. During the walk thru of our yard, the estimator used spray paint to show the placement of the fence. The day of the install, the workers arrived as promised and were polite/professional and worked at a steady pace to install my fence. The fence looks amazing after several years of heavy winds, snow & ice and extreme heat. It is very easy to keep clean (hose it down) and requires no maintenance). We were extremely happy with the process and will have them back as we look to install gates and additional fencing around the perimeter of our property.
Description of Work: We wanted to landscape approximately 1500 sq foot of our dirt backyard. After looking at various fence options, we chose vinyl due to the durability, overall great look and security around our property. We also wanted access to the side of our yard and installed one fence.

Overall I am very pleased with the experience. The salesman was very low pressure, which i appreciated significantly. The job was done at the beginning of the time frame estimate i was given. The final product looks wonderful. I was especially pleased that they hauled away the old fencing material. My only complaint is that I had asked to be called before the instal began because I have a dog that can be very aggressive and did not want a bite incident, but this was not done. Instead when i came home the installer was at my home and doing the work - thank God my dog behaved. I would use company again and am very happy with my new fence.

Pros: *Fence and gate are lovely and exactly what we asked for *Price is reasonable *We were told this is the only place in our market to get custom sized fencing and gates Cons: *After four business days, there was no response to my website inquiry for a quote. When I called, I was told that they never received my message. *When I called, I went through a strange phone routing system that told me to leave my name at the tone while the it attempted to locate someone to assist me. *Once I got through, there were so many people talking in the background that the receptionist couldn't hear me. *Estimator was one hour early. *Estimator told us he came in from SLC to help his friend because they were so busy. *Estimator was put off by my questions related to use of subcontracts, liability insurance, etc. He said that no one had ever asked him so many questions. When he spoke to my husband, he kept asking him if he should check with "the boss." *Estimator was annoyed when I asked if his company offers a discount for cash payments. Some companies offer these discounts so that they don't have to pay the bank's credit card processing fee. *Estimator was not able to give me any idea of when they might be able to start work. *I heard nothing back a week and a half after giving him a check, so I called to see when I could get on the schedule. Once again, I muddled my way through the phone system and left two voice mail messages. over the course of two business days. *When I finally received a call back, I could not hear the scheduler due to background noise. Work was scheduled for three weeks out. *Even though the estimator took measurements, a second person was sent to take them again a few days ago. *Workers came the same day to install the fence and posts. They left without saying a word. We had no idea if they were coming back and when. *Three days later I phoned the office for an update. The receptionist had no idea what was going on. She asked me for the workers names and I wasn't able to provide that information because they didn't talk to us. She told me that it would be completed by the originally stated day. *Today I received a voice mail message at work stating that their workers finished a job early and wanted to know if I was available the next day. I called back about an hour later and was told that the workers were already at my home. *My husband said the workers were leaving right when he arrived home from work. Once again, they never said a word and never asked for payment. I'll put the check in the mail tomorrow. It appears that this business is completely overwhelmed by their work load. They need a good project manager and office manager. If you don't mind chaos and unprofessionalism, the product is great. 7/14/11 Update: I contacted SW Vinyl two weeks after making final payment to see why my check had not cleared. I was told that they received the check, that they had a copy of it, and it was in processing. The next day I received a call from a Home Depot store auditor. I was told that I needed to issue them a check for payment on my account because I accidentally made it out to SW Vinyl. I told the HD employee that I don't have an account at Home Depot and that I have never been in that particular store. After some research, I determined that someone at SWV took my check to HD, asked them to apply some of the funds to their account, and took the rest in cash. When HD did their weekly audit, they ran across my check made out the SW Vinyl. They thought that I had lost it in their store and shredded it. Now they are asking me to issue them a new check made out to Home Depot. That is not going to happen. HD should have never accepted a check made out to SW Vinyl in the first place. They can reverse the payment on that person's account. When I questioned SWV, I received a rambling voice mail from a man claiming to be the owner. He apologized for not calling to give us a heads up on this. He said repeatedly that he was catching a flight and would come to see us in August when things slow down, so that he could photograph the job. That's not going to happen either. I contacted my bank to stop payment on the check and that cost me $20. Don't do business with SW Vinyl. It's just not worth the hassle.
