Our automatic pool cover motor suddenly stopped working (original motor installed in 1997). I called SW Cover Specialist to inquire about a new motor. The lady who answered the phone was very rude and told me the company who made my pool cover (Poolsaver) went out of business and that it would be expensive to replace. She proceeded to ask me how much I wanted to pay (my response was hopefully not a lot). When I informed her that I replaced the fabric cover last year, she asked me who installed the existing cover. I explained to her that I called SW Cover Specialist last year for a new cover but their soonest appointment was 8 weeks out, so I called their competitor (Roybal Pool Cover) and they promptly came out for measurements. When this lady heard this, she immediately became angry and asked me why I used Roybal and blamed them for my problems. I would have ended the conversation at that time but I needed someone to come out to open the pool. She said the soonest someone could come out was August 11 (5 weeks out). I asked her if that date was the best she could do, she replied, "I wouldn't have said August 11 if it wasn't the best I could do." That is when I told her, "it's almost like you don't want to help me". Her response was, " I don't want to help you, I really don't! Go back to Roybal!" She then hung up on me. So much for Customer service. I did not get her name but I'm assuming she's the owner. I will NEVER call this company again!

In June of 2012, Southwest Cover Specialist replaced the pool cover with a Coverstar Safety Pool Cover. By May of 2013 the cover was showing signs of wear not related to usage areas. We contacted Southwest Cover Specialists who worked with the manufacturer in replacing cover, which was under warranty. All the workmen are extremely polite and gave us great information on care and maintenance of cover, motor, and pool. We HIGHLY recommend Coverstar and Southwest Cover Specialist!

I have had SCS repair and replace my pool covers over the last 15 years and have always been pleased with their service. They are on time, do good work and have responded to any adjustments that needed to be made.

The fabric at the edge of our pool cover which holds the rope tore. It took Southwest Cover Specialists about 3 weeks to come out to look at it. They said when initially booking the appointment that they would call with a specific time a couple of days before the appointment. I ended up having to call them a couple of times to get a specific time. They determined that the pool cover and fabric was too old to repair. It had been sewn once before. They ordered a new cover. It took 2 weeks to get shipped. They came out the day after it arrived and replaced it. I thought they did a good job cleaning out the cover cavity, cleaning up the motor and retracting mechanism, etc. They also provided good tips about keeping it operating and preventing future damage.

Low estimate for good covers, best answers to questions, best literature, showed up when they said they would, done when they said it would be, good briefing. Some other companies with similar products and nearly the same price point weren't willing to provide detailed estimates.
