Sol O Alire Construction

We decided to put in a poured concrete driveway in front of our two-car garage and we're glad we found Sol O Alire. Working with Abraham and Humberto has been a pleasure. Abraham has been our main point of contact and he was always responsive, both via texting or phone calls -- we always felt like we could get in touch easily. We've never been through the process of pouring concrete for a driveway but we were impressed with the preparation and final result. Everything in the quote was done as planned and we plan to use them for a few more projects at our house.

No show. They never showed up. I took off work to be home at the agreed upon time. I called when Abraham did not show up. He said he could not make it and set it for the following day. I took off work again and he did show up again.

This is a small, family-owned business, and the owners are often on the jobsite, overseeing the work and working with their tools. The work was completed as bid, in a reasonable time, with good quality. Their bid was not the cheapest but was the cheapest that seemed to reflect the best way to correct the problems with the cracked wall. We were pleasantly surprised that the demolition was quieter than we expected. They accurately matched the color and texture of the existing house stucco. They fully cleaned up after the job was finished. We liked their work in repairing the wall so well that after that job was done we and our next door neighbor jointly hired them to build a new seventy foot long unstuccoed concrete block wall between our back yards and two new gates and matching fencing for the area between our houses. This was done to the same high standards as the repair work. The first gates did not fit correctly, but they readily recognized and fixed the problem, and the gates now fit well and look good. We recommended them to another neighbor.

Highly recommended! It is rare these days to find a company that takes pride in their work and does things the right way. If you value the quality of work, give Sol O Alire Construction a call. Abraham and Humberto were really great to work with. They raised the height of our block walls and also built a new section. They used quality materials and did a high quality job. They matched the mortar color beautifully, and the new walls look much better than the old. They also added rebar reinforcements to ensure the taller wall was structurally sound. I also really appreciated how responsive Abraham was to my texts. He kept me updated and answered all the questions I had along the way. Their pricing was competitive and they worked with us to ensure the wall came out exactly as we wanted. You can just tell when meeting with them that they are honest, hard working, respectful people. This is the type of person I prefer to do business with, and I would highly recommend giving them a call.

It took longer than putting in a new fence would've because the posts had to be made taller, 1 1/2' of fencing added all around and a horizontal 'topper' then attached. Then the gate too! It went very well. Our cats are as agile as squirrels and no one has gotten out!

I am really happy with the work. They explained why the damage happened (i.e. what was wrong with the original construction), and did was was necessary to fix it so it will be structurally sound for many years to come. I was quite impressed with the calibre of the workmanship. The repair was of much higher quality than the original wall. These guys really know what they are doing! They were professional, neat, and respectful of my gardens. I will hire them again to do more work on my property. I would strongly encourage anyone who needs masonry work to hire Sol O Alire Construction--they are REALLY good at it. And they are very nice people, which always is a huge plus.

At first ok, then delays, then they did their own thing in building not as dicussed, said 2 wks, took 4weeks, climbed over brick wall they built to do work when we told them we would not be home and everything locked up. They poured concrete different than discussed. They state one price then demand more because not going right in plan, expect you to pay for mistakes, they go ooops, now we need more money to fix it like you want, built patio and forgot to stain wood and said we could do that...never will I recommend these people

Abraham did a fantastic job. The fence was very uneven and I had a lot of trees but he worked very hard to provide security so that my animals cannot get out nor can other animals get in. He did an excellent job. Abraham is a fantastic communicator too!

Went very well brought over materials before job prepped before start was only here 4 days. I am very pleased with their work. As a result of their work we got a little bit of noise reduction and privacy protection. We were not expecting that. The wall stops the wind from hitting the house with such force like it use to. Abraham and his father are very professional and provide excellent workman ship.

They were on time, removed old wooden wall extension and replaced it with cinder blocks. The area was cleaned up and all trash hauled away. The work was completed in less than 1 day by2/3 workers. The wall was level and well pointed up.. Great job

This project went very well!! Humberto and Abraham were very professional, courteous and responsive to our request for our wall build. They met with my father and myself, and were very respectful and polite. The build was done to the exact specifications requested with an outstanding outcome. They were prompt to respond to all calls, were punctual and the project was started and completed within the time frame that was agreed upon. They left the work area clean free from any debris. They were even very respectful and professional in dealing with a somewhat mettlesome neighbor. Pricing was very fair and reasonable. There were no surprise costs. The services contracted were exactly what we received. I was truly impressed with the workmanship and professionalism Sol O Alire provided. They were true to their word and provided outstanding quality of product. We have many other projects that need to be completed, and we will not hesitate to call on them again. We would definitely recommend this company to others.

Great work, the new wall is amazing! We couldn't be more happy with the outcome of this project. We will be using them to work on the inside of our house next. Abraham and his father make a great team.

Work was a retaining wall approx. 95 feet long and just over 3ft high. With 4ft wide steps in the middle.

The job was completed today. Their work ethics is phenomenal, they built a fantastic wall, came to work every day ( even in the horrific heat), they kept me informed about things and they cleaned up exceptionally every day. The fence is beautiful, my son loves his outdoor area and we are very pleased with the overall job. Before they left, they ensured everything was clean, all the debris removed and everything done to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend them for future jobs. They were professional, responsive, came when they were supposed to and worked very hard. I am glad I found them on Angie's list. Great job!!

Abraham and his father did good quality work at reasonable prices. I intended to attach pictures of the 2 largest projects they did for me – the fence and the front porch, both of which look really good in person. (Unfortunately I don't see an option to attach pictures here.) In any case, I'm very happy with the results. I have never met them in person – they did all the work for me remotely as I live out-of-state. They would send me pictures by text after they finished each project component, which was very helpful. They required me to wire funds for each project component before they would move on to the next, which was a bit expensive but perhaps they have been burned before. Their quotes for larger project components (like the fence and the porch) were reasonable – about the same as or slightly less than the quotes I received from other contractors. When I asked them to do smaller things, sometimes the initial quotes seemed inflated. But they were open to negotiation and ultimately I feel I got good work at a good value. Compared to the surprising lack of professionalism that I have experienced from other Albuquerque contractors so far, these quibbles seem minor. I would definately hire them again.

They did a great job and had a really good price. They showed up to bid for the job before anybody else did. The other companies just wanted to generalize it over the phone, but they actually came out, outbidded everybody else, and did a fine job.

Abraham and Humberto were very easy to work with. They are honest with fair prices and did a great job. The fence is well constructed. They had to pull out some overgrown Oregon holly to install the fence and completed installation ahead of schedule. They also helped us move and reinstall our washer and dryer. Only one negative, the fence Is built rather close to our electrical box which we didn't notice until after the fence was installed.

The father and son team of Humberto and Abraham Alire approached this relatively small job with courtesy and professionalism. They made an appointment with me to give me an estimate the same day as I called. They were on time and began work as scheduled. Updates were provided when weather delays occurred. I highly recommend this company.

The father and son team did a fantastic job building us a fence to partition our yard . They were fast and reliable and the price was great and never changed. A receipt for work was provided as well. They also helped us move and hook up our washer and dryer! We recommend their work and will use them again for other fencing needs. Only one annoyance, main electrical box is hard to get to due to fence location and we didn't notice it nor were we told about it until the job was completed and we needed to get to the box.

The repairs were performed by the two Alire brothers. They did an excellent job of attaching the double gate to the concrete and making sure that it was nice and sturdy. The main posts having been broken in a wind storm, I was concerned that the gate might not be as stable when rebuilt. It has withstood several heavy windstorms and I have been very happy with the results. Other fencing along the backyard had also been knocked down by wind and they did a good job rebuilding the fence to make it sturdy. I requested an additional gate be added in the back and that was also completed as requested. Overall, I am very happy and would use them again. I compared several fence companies and they were by far the best priced.

Good except for major delays in getting materials from Home Depot.

They arrived to give me an estimate at the time we agreed on and came the following day to tear out the damaged pilaster and did an excellent job of replacing it. Doing this required removing and rehanging the gate which they did. Some weeks later I had them do the cement pad and they were again on time, did the work in an excellent manner and cleaned up the areas where they worked. Later the gate needed adjustment and again they arrived at the agreed time and took care of the problem. They are both, father and son, very nice men and pleasant to have work for me. Without any hesitation I would have them back if I should need their skills.

The provider came over and we agreed on the type of fencing and materials to be used. They showed up whenever they felt like it. They would call and say a time and still not keep their word. The posts were not what we first agreed on. The fencing is insultingly sloppy! We asked them to fix what needed to be redone and they agreed but do not seem to understand lying is not good business. Pictures available upon request. We have been working at finishing a pathetic job and turning it into a stable, well finished fence.

He did an excellent job. He was very nice to work with. He doesn't speak a lot of english but his son comes to make sure there are no grey areas. The wall he built is absolutely beautiful.
