Scientific Tree Care Spec

I had a 40 year old pine tree, standing 45 feet tall, that looked to me like it was dying. I called STC, a locally owned business, to ask if there was a chance to save the tree. The owner, "Thomas," said he would come and look at the tree and there was no need for me to be home. I don't know if he ever came to look at the tree. He called me back and said yes, he could save the tree with a "root inoculation" and I would see improvement in about 6 weeks where the tips would begin to turn green. I watered the tree for about an hour every day for the first week and then about 3 hours a week after that. I called back after 8 weeks and told Thomas there was no improvement. He said I'm either watering it too much or not enough. In any case, he was shifting blame. A few months later I knew it was too late. The tree was dead. I received a call from Thomas at the end of August, asking if I would call back to have the tree "winterized" as it was that time of year. I called back and left a message that I would like my tree serviced so that he would come and see the condition but he never called back. I now have to pay a service to remove that lovely and ONLY tree from my yard. I forgot to mention that when they came to "inoculate" my tree, Thomas was not among the 2 helpers. The helpers, a man of about 35 years and another of about 18 years old came and put a long pointed feeder tube down in the ground about 6" and basically fed the tree with nitrogen and possibly other growing chemicals I could have bought at the nursery. I should have researched tree specialists better as this company was not on Angie's List or anywhere else on the internet.
