I took my Toyota 4Runner to Safelite to replace the windshield. I dropped it off and walked to a nearby restaurant to eat lunch. By the time I returned from lunch, the windshield had been replaced, the vehicle vacuumed, and windshield wipers replaced. The technician even pointed out that a previous windshield installation had covered up the VIN with sealant and spent the extra time to clean all of the old sealant off of the VIN plate. The technician was very professional and courteous. I would definitely use Safelite again.

They showed up on time, but when replacing the old windshield, they broke off several clips that hold it in place and did not tell me. They installed the new windshield which did not properly adhere because of those broken clips. It leaked air. They came to my house to replace the faulty "new" windshield and they didn't have the clips, so I had to wait further for another install, which finally worked. I will not use Safelite again.

I didn't notice much difference but it hasn't spread, so that's good. I wasn't that confident they did any work. They could have described things more clearly and told me the difference that it made. They took the car and came back out later and said it was fixed. I don't think they took me very seriously.

I went to them, they did not come to me. It was fine and there was nothing special about it. I am sure if I used it it was part of my insurance so it probably did not cost me anything. I liked it because it was convenient to my house. They were close by and did fine. The work they did turned out fine. From what I recall there were no issues.

He was marginal. He could've handled it better. If they had warned me over the phone, I would've never hired them. All he did was replace 3 windshield wipers.
Description of Work: Replace windshield on Isuzu Rodeo. I recently bought a 1993 Isuzu Rodeo at an estate sale. My husband owned a Honda Passport years ago. He just passed away, and I just wanted to refurb this rodeo to look like his passport in his memory. Purely a heart thing. Nothing to do with cost. The young man who showed up proceeded to tell me if he found a certain amount of rust after removing old windshield that he would not be able to continue legally, he said. I said, "Oh no you're not. Render this car in such a condition that I'd have to pay a tow truck?" He kept going on and on about how his boss makes him warn people ahead of time. Safelite lost over $500.00 in income because I went downtown and found someone with 35 years experience who said what the Safelite guy said was bunk. Almost no rust around the window. Happy I found him. I could've really been put in a bad position. Widow with no one to drive me to get it to a body shop.

Great service the guy that did my repair was professional and courteous and on time. He repaired the chip in my windshield. I had hoped that it would be less visible but he said it depended on the star chip. It looks the same but won't spread further. This was a rock that hit my windshield on the highway for brand new car. My insurance paid for it so the repair was painless.

It went horrible. My wife wanted to get the chip in her windshield repaired before it turned into a crack and called to have her car scheduled, I asked her to schedule mine at the same time since I had a little ding as well. Mine was very minor, but figured that I would just have it filled since they were going to be coming out anyways. She scheduled both vehicles through USAA's glass program. On the date of the appointment I get a call about 30 minutes before the scheduled window was to begin. The guy that called told me that he would be there towards the end of the day. Great, I was happy that we wouldn't have to just wait for the entire five hours. About 30 minutes later I get another call saying that the guy will be to my house in about a half an hour. He wanted to know if my car was parked in the shade or in the garage. He said that the windshield needed to be cool to perform the repair. He also said that he was only going to do my car and that somebody else would come for my wife's truck. I told him that it was outside and I would move it into the shade of the house. I did and he showed up shortly afterwards. The guy was nice enough and explained what he was doing. He told me that the windshield was probably still too hot and just had me open the doors. I asked if there was anything else I needed to do to cool it down. He said no and started working. He then told me that because the chip did not penetrate the glass far enough that he would need to "open it up" and proceeded to start tapping away with a glass punch. He then added the glue and put the vacuum thing on and proceeded to crack my windshield. He looked at me and said, "I guess it was still too hot" then he said that he would try and fill the crack but would have to open the winshield again. He then proceeded to run the crack down the windshield to the point that the windshield needed to be replaced. He told me sorry, I really thought that I could fix that one and that he had only been doing this for just over a month and then he left. I called USAA frustrated as the winshield was less than a year old and told them what happened. Safelite agreed to replace the windshield but told me that I would have to come to the shop instead of having it done at my house. I told them that the winshield was replaced earlier this year in my driveway and they had the BS response that because it is a BMW they need to have it in their shop. Ok, so I have an appointment to bring it in to their shop two weeks later. My wife and I head down to the shop and drop it off. I had my newborn baby with me and everybody in the shop was very polite. The guy doing the service commented that the baby's name is the same as his and on and on. I get a call to coem pick it up that afternoon, but to come aroung the back of the shop. I go back there and my car is sitting there waiting. I go in and get the keys and all seems well. As I am walking out I notice that the air dam on the front of the car is hanging down a bit. I walked back in and asked the service guy if that was the only place that he had parked it and he told me that he had it out front initially, but that they were doing work on the front lot so he pulled it around back. I asked if he hit a parking curb or sidewalk, he said no and walked away from me. Very odd considering how warm the interaction had been between us earlier in the day. I went to the manager and spoke with her about the issue. She came and took pictures and told me not to worry that they would take care of it but that the office that handles that is closed and that they would cal me on Monday. Most of Monday goes by and I hadn't heard back from them. At 4pm I call to ask what is going on and the guy that answered tells me that he will go ask and call me back. They call my wife's phone and tell her that they got together at the shop and decided that they were not at fault and were not going to take care of it. I immediately call USAA and file a claim and explain everything up to this point. They assure me that they will look into waht is going on. The next day I get a call from a different safelite manager who apologizes and tells me that they will take care of everything. USAA calls me back and says that they will close the claim since safelite has agreed to take care of it. Safelite instructs me to take it to a very shady shop called Dent express. I take it there the next day and they tell me that the whole lower front bumper needs to be replaced as it has not just popped out of the clips, but has broken and left the parts of the bumper in the clips themselves. They tell me that they have to order the part and to wait while they do that. They come back and tell me that the part has to come from Germany and that it will take six weeks. So I say OK, I will wait. Then my wife gets an call from safelite two weeks later saying that they will not replace the bumper, they will buff it out. I call USAA and get transferred to safelite and ask how they plan on buffing out broken? They tell me that they will look into it and call me back. Another couple of weeks go by and nothing. I am tired of waiting so I call USAA and tell them I want to file a claim and that safelite is unwilling to fix the damage they caused to my car and that I am so over safelite. Safelite gets back on the phone and I get to re-explain everything for the 50th time. They then get the Albuquerque shop manager on the phone and she says that the shop told her that they could fix the bumper by buffing it out. I ask how exactly they plan on buffing out broken. She says that they will buff it but not replace it. That their agreement was to buff or fix it. I tell her that buffing it will not fix it. She asks who I spoke with there that told me it needed to be replaced. I tell her that I do not know. She now wants me to go back and then call them again. I tell her no and that I don't want dent express to fix it anyways. They are shady and will probably try to glue the bumper to the body to hold it in place. I tell her that her shop damaged it and it needs to be fixed. She then comes back with, "OUR SHOP ISN"T ACTUALLY ACCEPTING THAT WE DID ANYTHING AND ARE ONLY OFFERING TO BUFF IT AS A COURTESY". I lost it at this point. She is implying that I am trying to get over on their shop and have them fix damage that they may not have caused. I ask USAA to help me out at that point. I am done with safelite. Now I have to go home and take high resolution pictures to send to USAA. They said that they will try and get safelite to cover it through the USAA preferred shop. If not I will use the claim and have to pay the deductible which USAA will then file against safelite to try and recover the money. This has probably been one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had. Completely incompetent, dishonest, and insulting. I get the feeling that they do this a lot and just see who will hold their breath the longest. I think that they are used to screwing over their customers.

Fine I contacted the agency via the internet and filled out a form describing the small star crack in my windshield. The confusion came related to whether my insurance was going to pay or not. I had entered the insurance info but when the scheduler called to set up an appointment, she did not seem to have the info about my insurance company. It was unclear from the website whether I should contact the insurance company or they would. The issue of the Angie's list discount muddied the water even more. I could not get an estimate until the issue of insurance pay and deductible was clear. In addition the scheduler had no idea that Angie's list offered a discount to members. The workman was prompt, professional and courteous. The repair looks fine.

This company had a website that takes care of scheduling appointments. The website indicated that there were appointments available for that afternoon so I set it up for later that Saturday. I sent my son with the car but when he arrived, he was told that they don't pay any attention to that service after noon on Saturdays and they couldn't do the job. I was in a time crunch and was relying on them to get it done in the time that their website indicated. I would advise you to call the place and don't rely on their online scheduling.

Please refer to the description above for all the details but as I've already said, it was an overall great job done.
Description of Work: Called Safelite Friday, 1-20 to talk to them about having the window on my Ford F150. After describing the chips, the representative recommended replacing the window and we setup an appointment for Saturday, 1-21 between 8-12. The window tech, John B, called in the morning and let me know that he'd be at the house in 15-20 minutes. Twenty minutes later he was there and had a look at the window. When he looked at the chips, he told me that at one time the chips had been repaired and that I could probably get another year out of them. What impressed me was the fact that he gave me an option; something that alot of businesses don't do. But I went ahead and told him to replace the window. When he started replacing the window, we found out that it at one time had been replaced so I was glad I decided to have it replaced. During the whole process, he answered any question I asked and also let me know what he was doing during the replacement and he did it in a very professional manner. And near the completion of the job, he offered a free complementary vacuum of the interior which I happily accepted. When the job was done, the window looks great and the interior was clean. Nothing more to say but a GREAT JOB DONE by John B. and I would certainly recommend them.

My brother and I are very happy with Safelite Auto Glass and highly recommend the Albuquerque staff. They went above and beyond in providing service. I must mention that the numbers listed in Angie's List are located in a central scheduling area for the whole country. When I called, the first person that answered and then the scheduler, had no idea about Angie's List or the $20 discount mentioned. However, once I explained Angie's List and they checked the website, they gave me a $25 discount.
Description of Work: I had Safelite in Albuquerque install a new windshield on my brother's car and replace the wiper blades. My schedule request was met and not only did they fix a problem with one of the wiper mechanisms for free, but also a problem with the driver's door when the installer noticed it when he got in the car while doing the installation. That is fanstastic service.
