Ron Hensley RE

We purchased a home from Ron Hensley in August 2019. At closing, we found out that there were no garage door openers. When we had a garage door company come out two days later, we were told we needed a new garage door opening system at a cost of just under $700.00. Then in early October, I vacuumed the window sills on one end of the house and all the widow sill crumbled apart showing what appears to be concealment of water damage within the window frames. We also discovered a roof leak at the same time. The MLS listing clearly stated the roof was new. The MLS also stated that all windows were vinyl and that we had a gas log fireplace. Come to find out, only two windows in the entire home are vinyl and the gas fireplace, which could not be checked at the time of inspection because no key was available (convenient?), was never hooked up and the gas line was soldered closed. So the whole fireplace inset and plumbing needed to be completely replaced. If it was just one thing that was wrong, we would not be making an issue. However, we now have multiple big-ticket issues that lead us to believe these items were not an oversight. I have had multiple emails with Mr. Ron Hensley and he appears to be hoping this situation will go away on its own. It will not. We have had estimates of replacing the roof $12,00-$15,000. Each of the 11 windows will need to be repaired at a cost of $500.00 each. I also have a suspension that there is mold hidden under the flooring in the living room because of the smell but have not torn up the floor yet to investigate.
