Precision Garage Door

I would not recommend their service. I already knew the problem before the technician came out. I needed a belt replacement and he said the belt needed replacing since it was older and brittle. I do not remember him saying anything about the motor needing replacing...BUT since it was an older piece of equipment that you could get a Lowe's he could not help me BUT could replace with a new unit for >$800. So for a service fee of >$69, I could purchase a new unit or buy a belt at Lowe's.

Needed an expensive repair, to rollers, re-balance tracks . I would have liked to get several estimates. I have no idea if what I paid was expensive for the job. It was accomplished very quickly, but was over $600 . But I did not want to leave the vehicles out in the open in this crazy car-snatching city. The tech was experienced at the work.

Our garage door had stopped closing. Not an emergency but wanted to get it fixed. We used Precision quite a while ago so I sent a chat note to them at about 4:00 PM Wednesday. Almost immediately I got a note back, offering an appointment for Thursday. (I had expected to wait days for an appointment.) Once we confirmed the time I received a text with the tech's name, photo, and a short bio! Jeff arrived a little after 8:AM and very quickly diagnosed the problem - the Liftmaster opener no longer had enough torque to work properly. He said it would have to be replaced. And he said the door is OK but suggested having him do an overall maintenance service. AND, he had the parts on his truck and could start immediately! Two hours later we had a maintenance service on the equipment - and a STATE OF THE ART BRAND NEW LIFTMASTER! It has updated capabilities and "bells & whistles" like WiFi capability to connect to my cell phone and a security camera. AND, he installed a key-pad on the outside of the door jamb! AND, I was pleasantly surprised that even after all this time we are still considered a repeat customer and given "loyal customer" discounts! Oh yeah - the total cost was AMAZING! Much less than I had feared! And I appreciate no up-selling or pressure for extra services!

Precision dispatched a technician the same day, Saturday, to repair a broken spring. Rudy Vallejos was very personable and professional. He inspected the door (which had never been serviced except for 1 previous spring repair) and noted that the old spring was too large for the door and had been stressing both the door itself and the opener. He provided 3 estimates for necessary and recommended repairs. Rudy essentially replaced all the mechanical parts of the door resulting in the quietest and smoothest operation of this particular door that I have ever experienced. He accomplished the task in slightly over 1 hour and for the exact amount of the estimate. Precision is definitely on my list of go-to vendors and will have my recommendation to friends and neighbors.

Today (3/15/22), I was fortunate to meet a young man on behalf of Percisision Garage Door of Albuquerque. Gary Lang is the technician I am talking about. He is professional, listened to my issues, and went above and beyond to help me. Gary is a bright light that customer service does still exist. Precision Garage Door of Albuquerque is very lucky to have Gary on their team. I would definitely recommend Gary Lang to my family and friends.

I signed up on angi for an estimate on 1/13/2022. On 1/17/2022 I had to call for the estimate. Another company called me back on 1/13 and I got an estimate that day! Mr. Tony Acker showed up on 1/17 and was very helpful and courteous. I would rate him a 5 but down graded the total rating to 4 for the poor response.

This is the best company I have dealt with in over 22 years. They have done repairs to our garage door, replaced the spring and rollers. Their employees are polite, efficient, explain what they are doing and why. Their prices beat other competitors and I highly recommend them.

Rudy arrived on time, determined the problem, gave me three options/prices for the work, recommended one of them and told me why that was the best option. I liked that option and the work. The door works, is quieter, smoother, and doesn't bounce when you open it. The work/parts also has a lifetime warranty.

Very happy with Precision Garage Door and technician Gilbert I was able to get help within hours. Gilbert explained what had happened and pointed out some errors in installation, that he was able to correct. Excellent work.

Had to have the Springs replaced the technician came out replace a few things had me sign a bill for just under 1100. Come to find out the next day the parts were not replaced that I had already paid for. Do not do business with them. The owner is the worst person to deal with. I have before and after pictures of the items in question. Feel free to contact me and ill share my horrible experience.

Perfectly. Technician completed a multi-point inspection and explained in detail the issue and recommended repair. Obvious he really knew his business and was as efficient and expeditious as he was professional. This company was extremely responsive and their business practices were first class.

i got a same day appointment and Jeff Peres was my technician. He thoroughly explained my options and gave me price points for all options. Felt like he was honest and upfront-no hidden costs. He gave me the options and I chose the higher end per my preference of wifi enabled. He completed the work and was patient with me setting up the devices and outside number pad. Highly recommend him and this company.

A very satisfactory experience, from initial visit to showroom through installation. Found this company on Angie's List (of course), and the owner, Gary, was knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. Had to wait a bit longer than expected owing to COVID back-ups at the manufacturer, but was informed. Installation date and time were precise, and the installer phoned when on his way. Kevin, the installer, was pleasant, efficient, and competent. He explained the new gadgets : a digital keypad outside the door, to get back in when the door was locked, also digitally, on leaving the garage. Personable, but professional; the garage was left very clean, and he even helped me with a curtain problem that I couldn't reach! And the new door is so quiet, I have to look to be sure it is working. Altogether a fine experience, and less expensive than other companies estimates.

Precision Garage Door is absolutely the best. Their products are extremely high quality, their prices are great for any project, and their install service and attention to detail is just amazing. We have used Precision for several big projects (adding new and quiet motors for classic/heavy wood doors; replacing old garage doors with brand new ones, and even installing high-end contemporary garage doors to match the modern construction style of a brand new house). Precision Garage Door can do it all, and we highly recommend this company.

Great! They were prompt, professional and reliable. They had fixed the door in 2009 and even gave us a discount for being a returning customer.

Recently, while my husband and I were out of the country, our house sitter had a problem with the key pad on our garage door. The remote still worked, and she wasn’t locked out of the house, but she was worried. She decided to call a garage door company and have the door checked out. We had used Precision for some service in the past, but had not used them since 2013. However, Precision had put a sticker on our garage door opener, so she thought that she should call them. Precision came out and scared her. They said the cables were frayed, the drums were bad (they are the thing around which the cables are wound), and the brackets were ruined. They told her that these things had to be repaired right away to avert a disaster. Our house sitter told the service person that she was not the homeowner. He impressed on her that the door was extremely dangerous and should be repaired right away. She decided to authorize it. That was not a good decision. Precision charged $539 dollars for that repair, which our house sitter put on her credit card. After making the repair, to try and impress on us the bad condition of the frayed cables, the service person left everything he took off the garage except the key pad, which we suspect just needed a new battery. The replacement cost $98.00. When I got home, four days later, I had an estimate done by a different company for the work Precision did. Not only did the second company come up with a much lower price, $226, but they noted that the invoice Precision gave us misrepresented the drums that had been put on our doors. According to Precision’s invoice, the drums were sized at 400/12 when they actually used 400/8. The difference is between a commercial drum meant to handle a large 12-foot door and an 8-foot door which is what ours was. They gave us the 400/8, but charged us for the 400/12s. Not only that, but the drums were in perfect condition and did not need to be replaced at all. On their invoice each drum was $120. All told, the things that did not need to be replaced, the two drums and the keypad, was $238 of the invoice price. I called Precision. First, I asked them why that had rushed to work on a home when they knew they weren’t dealing with the home owner. I said that the house sitter had no authority to do that repair. Precision’s owner said, and I quote, “he doesn’t know who he is doing work for, it could be a child molester, but that is none of his business.” He also told me that he didn’t know why I was so upset about a minor repair. I don’t consider a $539 repair minor, especially when I could have had it done for less than half. I asked him for his price list. He refused to give me one because he said his prices are his prices that he is under no obligation to reveal. I write this review to warn you about the “customer service” at this place and its dubious pricing. Use them at your own risk.

I was very pleased and I will call them again if needed

A great experience overall. We went to Overhead door and the salesman was friendly but not very helpful and not eager for our business. Then we went to Precision and Gary dropped everything to help us out. We had a good idea of what we wanted and he helped us find exactly what we needed. The price you see may seem high, but this was a high end, insulated garage door. We got all new tracks, springs, seals, etc. Didn't try to sell us more than what we wanted and was happy to honor his Angie's List discount. Installation went very well except that the wrong hardware showed up, but the correct items were quickly reordered and installed with no hassle. Excellent customer service. We even saw Gary in our neighborhood a month later and he recognized us! I would highly recommend them!
