Precision Garage Door

Work wasn't performed. When we made the appointment, we indicated that it was an, "Overhead Door" device. However, when the repairman showed up, he said that "Overhead Door" is proprietary equipment, Precision cannot obtain replacement parts, and that he wouldn't be able to service the device. I still had to pay $80 for a service call!

The technician (Rudy) arrived early, was pleasant, fixed everything quickly and efficiently, and now my door works flawlessly (with a lifetime guarantee on parts and labor). My only criticism is that they aren't cheap; hopefully, the lifetime guarantee will make up for it.

It went well. Thought the rep was very professional. Appreciate the warranty on the one door. Gave me a $100 discount for being an Angie's List member.

It was not my best experience. I think they upsold what was advertised. I ended up spending more money than I had planned. Their replacement parts were quite expensive. So, I wasn’t very pleased with them. They tried to sell some other products for the door.

Our technician was Gary Lang. Can't say enough good things about his professional attitude, friendly demeanor and ability to complete the work. He arrived at our house about 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment and completed the work in about 40 minutes. Our garage door works probably better than it has in many years (considering it has been in-operable for at least a couple of months). Once I get some stuff cleared up from under the opener, Gary asked me to call him so he can help me program our in-car openers. Great stuff.

I discovered I had a broken torsion spring. I called Precision on Sunday night. I actually got a real person on the phone - on Sunday night. She was very courteous and efficient. She set me up for an appointment on Monday, the next day. She explained the service charge. We are about 50 miles from the company. She answered all my questions. I also used their chat service on their website and got immediate response to my additional questions. Monday Rudy called about 30 minutes before his scheduled appointment time (a 2 hour window). He arrived about 5 minutes before the early part of the 2 hour range). He examined the garage door and lift, and although it was easy to see the broken spring, he listened intently and patiently to my explanations and questions. After he checked everything out he gave me 3 options with quotes, and explained all the details and answered all of my questions. ( 3 options - 1) get the door working (would have to replace springs, and 90 day warranty) - 2) replace springs and one or 2 bearings - 1 year warranty, 3) complete overhaul of all moving parts (all bearings, new springs, new rollers, lubricate and checkout everything with lifetime warranty ). I chose the complete overhaul and am glad I did, the garage door and everything but the lift is 20 years old. Rudy then asked me to move my car out of the garage so he could get to work. (we had been away for about 1 month and the car had been sitting idle in the garage - of course it wouldn't start). Rudy helped me get the car started, and we got it out of the garage, so Rudy to get to work. In less than 40 minutes, Rudy was finished, and we went over what he did. He explained everything in detail. He had to fix some of the brackets and hinges on the door, he had to move the shaft over, so the new bearings would sit on smooth part of shaft. He also checked out all remotes ( I had one the wouldn't program, which he fixed and explained to me what needed to be done), and the keypad. The door now moves smoothly and quietly. And I have a lifetime transferrable warranty on all moving parts, except the opener which had been replaced recently. I would definitely use Precision Garage Door again, and will highly recommend to all friends and neighbors!!! Rudy was great.

I will cut to the chase: Craig Amundsen, the owner of Precision Door Service gave me a personal call when I complained that the technician who came to first service the door was unable to fix it, and it appeared that the technician was actually quite ill. Well, he was, and Craig had sent the poor lad home. Craig insisted on coming up and making it right, driving up from Albuquerque to Santa Fe. He explained the issue: it was the signal receiver portion of the mechanics, and patiently also explained that my very old system did not have the necessary safety shut-off devices. I saw the light... he went right to work and installed a new system, giving me a discount, and had it up professionally and wonderfully with a good deal of work going into it. Craig Amundsen represents to me the 'old school' of professional workmanship: honest, understanding, dependable, fair, and completely knowledgable about his trade. He is the sort of business owner I would want to work for if I were looking for work, and he is definitely the sort of business owner that I would go to unhesitatingly.

Lorenzo came out to check a door and install new rollers. He was professional and could not have provided better service. He went out of his way to make sure everything was safe, in good condition and otherwise perfect. I will most definitely call him again.

Repairman arrived at the start of the service window. He notified me of what was malfunctioning with my garage door and what needed to be replaced. Work was done quickly and efficiently, on a Saturday.

We purchased a "deal" for a new garage door opener. This company is amazingly responsive. The company called me after purchasing the deal and asked me when I wanted to schedule the installation. This was a Saturday. I said as soon as possible and the person I spoke with said, "How about today?" The technician showed up at 5 pm and I had a new garage door opener by 7. I highly recommend Precision Garage Door. I will certainly use them again to replace the opener for garage door #2.

It was a Sunday evening and I discovered the garage door would not go up. I had to go to work the next day. I called Precision and the workman came out within 2 hours. He was very polite and efficient. However, the company charged $600 to replace rollers and springs. "lifetime warranty" was the excuse. I will never use this company again. They were taking advantage of the fact that it was a weekend and evening. Unless you like spending way too much money, I would not recommend this company.

Arrived home in the late evening. Garage door opened but would not close. My spouse attempted to close the door by force and the door jumped its tracks on one side. One wheel above the track, 2 wheels below, hanging in place on that side by one wheel. The door was half way open. Called the number for Precision after seeing they were rated best on Angie's List. It was approximately 5:30 pm and we couldn't leave the garage door in the condition it was in. It ended up being an after-hours/emergency call. Which added an extra $140 to the total price. We were informed the technician would be out between 6 and 8pm. Technician called us within 15 minutes to verbally assess what might need to be done and get some information on the door and the opener we had. Technician was at the house by 6 pm and immediately assessed the situation. Informed us of what needed to be repaired, along with items that he could do but if he didn't the door would still work (like replacing the wheels). The cables on the door were frayed and broken and the door needed to be reset on the tracks. He also lubed the door. We decided to skip replacing the wheels/rollers at this time, but will consider it for a future repair. The work was completed quickly, professionally and within 30 minutes of arrival. Total time was about an hour from initial call to complete repair. The garage door sounds much better and is much quieter than before.

Lorenzo called me and showed up a tiny bit before the appointment. He was clean cut, friendly, very attentive, and taught me some interesting things on the garage door. The service was excellent, I'd have him back any day.

I'm very happy with the service provided by the technician. There was no charge since it was still under warranty and that it was a mechanical problem. The details are above.

Tech came on time, work was done and explained what was done and how to keep it in good shape. Warranty is good. Haven't needed any follow up.

I called Precision Door to schedule a repair on my broken garage door and they were able to send a tech the very next morning at 8am. Their tech Gary called just before coming over at the appointed time and went right to work. He was very competent and organized and had the door repaired and in fine working order in about an hour. I would recommend Precision Garage Door Service to anyone needing a garage door or opener repaired or serviced.

The service was prompt and efficient. Gary came within an hour. He was knowledgeable, offered options and did a great job. Our garage door is working again and it is operating with less noise.

Rudy called to say he was on his way and arrived at the early hour of the two hour service window. He began to diagnose the problems I have had for over 15 years. I have had a few technicians come out and they do a quick fix which lasts until they are at the end of the street. Rudy kept at it until he determined the cause of the problem. I had purchased a $99.00 roller replacement and inspection and the parts required to fix the unit were not included in that purchase which I expected to be the case and was fair. Because I had so much trouble with the existing unit I choose to purchase a new unit which Rudy promptly installed. He was quick, efficient, neat and professional. He took time to explain the unit to me and was very knowledgeable throughout the appointment. Rudy did not pressure me at all to buy a new unit but explained the problem and the options. I also had the rollers installed, as per the original deal. I couldn't be happier as my previous rollers were always horribly loud and now the door works perfectly and is extremely quiet. Well worth it. Highly recommend this company.

I highly recommend Precision, I waited three weeks to write this review - everything continues to work perfectly. On a Saturday afternoon in Santa Fe I was returning home from shopping, pulled in the driveway and hit the remote to my 25 year old garage door, the sound the spring braking I describe as explosive, the door continued on it?s mission to open thus extending the damage to cables. hinges and door panels. I turned to Angie?s List to find a recommended garage repair company, I found Precision in Albuquerque, I was impressed with the number of positive reviews and comments. I called Precision and explained my situation, they offered to come the following day at 8:30 AM, I mentioned that it would be Sunday, they said no problem, no extra charge. Their website provides a photo and brief bio of all their service technicians so when Gary arrived right on time I felt like I knew him. Gary worked on a tablet and in less than an hour he presented me with three options, he explained each one in detail, basic repair everything that was broken, next, repair everything and upgrade some items, finally replace everything with new. Because of the age of the doorI opted to replace everything with new. Three days later two service men arrived at the promised time and in less than three hours removed all the old and installed the new system. The techs took the time to explain the new system in detail including how it should be maintained in the future.

The service was prompt for the appointment, introduce himself. The service provider went directly to work, upon completion of the work. The provider explained the work that was done and recommendations for improvement.
