Description of Work: They did a "tune up" for our garage door (for a double garage). The door will not shut during the mid-day. The technician simply said that the sun was shining on the sensor and preventing the door from closing. No attempt was made to adjust or fix this problem. The attitude seemed to be "live with it." It was not always this way. A year ago the door always worked.

Description of Work: I very stupidly backed into my garage door and knocked it off the track. |I checked Angie's list and found several vendors. Called the first in Santa Fe and received no answer. Called Precision in ABQ at 4:30pm and they had a repairman in my garage by 6pm. He was able to get the door in the track so I could get my car out of the garage. I also broke the back window of the car and he helped me put plastic over it. The door was totaled so he ordered a new one for me . I told him I had trouble with mice getting into the garage and he ordered a special rodent guard for the new door. They came and installed the new door in two weeks and checked out the door openers, etc. Very nice and very professional. I would recommend them any day or evening.

Description of Work: One gentleman called back immediatly after I submitted an online inquiry and came over right away, upon my request. I had already done a lot of research and pretty much knew what I wanted, so we just found the closest thing in his materials in a new garage door and opener and worked up an estimate, including a nice seaonal special discount, to replace an old, heavy solid wood door from the 1940's. Got some good advice about leaving off the windows I had originally envisioned, for security reasons, took measuerments and determined the existing small frame would require a custom build, which would take a couple weeks. It arrived right on schedule and we set up an appointment for installation to take place 2 days later. The gentlemen arrived promptly at the designated time and started right in, removing and cutting up the old door to haul away. Since the old spring & fulcrum system had to be removed and a new track system put in & wired for my very first opener, I was told it would be about a 3 to 4 hour job and that was right on, too. They removed some old hardware from the old door for me that I had wanted to repurpose on a gate, & made sure I got all that back. Then cleaned up the debris, hauled it and the old door scraps away, showed me how to operate the new door, helped me set a code, gave me the owner's manual, warranty and receipt and they were on their way. Painless. Perfect, whisper-quiet door operation. Should have done it sooner. 18 years I've saved, planned and dreamed of using my garage as a garage! And I am so pleased and proud of my new door I even included pictures of it in my Christmas news letter and gave all the credit to Santa. | |My only criticism might be that they don't install on the weekends which makes it tough for those of us who work the same hours they do, but as it turned out, I ended up having to stay home sick in bed that day anyway so it worked out and I didn't have to take annual time off after all.
