Precision Garage Door

Not only did the repairman (Tyler) show up earlier than seemed possible on this late Saturday afternoon, but within one hour he got the job completely done with a lifetime warrentee on the work and parts. He was professional, courteous, knowledgeable and personable. That the company was able and willing to get the job done on short notice on a Saturday late afternoon was a huge relief and well done. He showed me all the worn and broken parts and made sure that the rest of the assembly worked efficiently and correctly...tightening or replacing plastic parts with better quality replacements all along the process. Worth the expense to get it done right! thanks PRECISION!

Gary came to our house to fix our garage that was installed poorly by another company. He came in time and was very informative of the diagnostics of the door. He showed us the root cause of the problem and fixed it in a timely manner. Very professional and courteous.

We have used Precision doors for a number of years (probably approaching 10). The services have ranged from installing a garage door opener to tuning (routinely maintaining) the doors. They are prompt and very professional. The quality of work has always been high. I do't recall ever having to call them back to redo any work.

After trying some things I thought could be the problem, but which didn't solve the problem, I went online to Angie's List and immediately chose Precision, with its many great reviews, and was given a 2-hour window in the afternoon. I liked the fact their website said they really do provide same-day service, as that is what I needed, and that they have a coupon/discount for Angie's List members. Lorenzo arrived within that window, and Gary, another technician did, too. After being told the problem (something to do with the sun and the sensors--I still don't quite understand it) could be alleviated, I chose the work I wanted done, and the two did it. The guys were a happy duo, and their work resulted in a happy homeowner! I would call them again.

The person that came out was very pushy insisting that other repairs needed to be done. He kept Insisting that unless the repairs he stated needed to be done (which were 3 times the cost of the needed repair on the door) that the door was unsafe. Funny because the door was in fine working order before the spring broke. DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY unless you want to be ripped off.

Obvious attempt to rip me off. Hard sell to replace door and then outrageous estimate to repair spring.

We called twice to ask about using their special on the RV door. Both times, we were told our question would need to be answered by someone at headquarters and to expect a call back soon. We never heard back from them. We used this company in the past and were very pleased with their work but have gone a different route this time.

Works great. They sun was hitting the sensor so they created a sunshade for it. The door was also too close to the frame so as the wood heated up the door had too much resistance and would not shut. They adjusted the door so it does not drag. Door works great!!

He were terrific. Just one person came to complete the job. It took him about an hour or so to complete. He did a good job. It was reasonable. He didn't try to sell me anything. He left the area clean. He gave me good advice on future things without trying to sell anything. He was a nice guy.

They completed a check list review of my door. They recommended either or partial or total refurbishment of the door which was more money than I wanted to spend. They finally did an adjustment that was reasonably priced. I felt as if they were trying to oversell services that I might not have needed.

Gary showed up right on time, the day after I called, and did the repair right away. What more could you ask for?

I considered buying parts and trying to repair the old opener and I'm so glad I didn't take that path because I would spent a lot of time and money and ended up calling the pros in the end. I couldn't be happier with my new garage door opener...is very quiet has all the safety features I wanted.

He completed the inspection and then went over a few different options for repair. Wish I had used them over the years for the garage door issues I have had!

Lorenzo had a new opener and all the necessary parts in his truck and was available to start the work immediately. He was very professional, courteous, and thorough.

I was immediately given a hard sell with three options: (1) replace the entire system at a cost of $1900; (2) a partial replacement at a cost of $869; and (3) "LM gear & sprocket chain". I opted for the least expensive option, since I knew that the garage door mechanism did not need to be replaced. The springs were undamaged but the technician identified them as the "wrong ones", commenting that I should replace them as well. (they had been replaced in October 2014 and should have a life of 8-12 years.) When I told him that they had been replaced relatively recently, he backtracked and said the springs were OK. As far as I could see, he replaced the worn gear and sprocket and also the two torsion cables ($79.95). I have never spent over $200 for a garage repair, and felt ripped off. The service charge seemed reasonable ($59.95) as was the lube ($49.95) but the gear and sprocket chain was not ($189.95). I cannot recommend Precision Door and caution all those who might consider using them. They fixed the problem but at a cost I consider to have been very excessive. The most annoying part of this experience was a feeling of being conned into spending way more than was necessary for this simple repair (finished in less than 45 minutes). I initially called Garage Doors by Nestor, who I have used many times over the last two decades and have been very satisfied with, but they could not send someone out until the following Monday (the problem occurred on the previous Thursday).
