Terry at Paul Davis was the best guy for the job. We had discussed the problem with another company and they didn't hold a candle to Terry's professionalism and desire to have our satisfaction with the job. A slow leak from our dishwasher, located in the kitchen island with a sink, caused damage to the island drywall, cabinetry and framework. Terry gave us a quote that was within our budget and the estimate of the insurance company. The process went as scheduled, was finished on time and on budget. There were a couple of glitches that were fixed immediately and without any problem. We'd be happy to recommend them for any kitchen job!
Description of Work: Rebuild cabinetry, replaced an entire kitchen island.

Very satisfied with their work. The pipe burst in the early morning hours (of course), and Paul Davis was on site within a few hours of calling them. They pulled up the carpet, detached the affected baseboards, and left several industrial dehumidifiers to dry out the room over a few days. We decided to hire them for the second phase too (recarpeting, repainting, etc.). Their contractors showed up on time and were efficient in their work. I appreciated their giving us options for minimizing cost, such as having us move our stuff out of the room versus having them do it. Cost was $1500-2000 for the drying out, and about $4000 for the restoration which included the cost of new carpet/pad.
Description of Work: We called Paul Davis Restoration when a pipe burst in our downstairs recreation room. They handled both the initial emergency drying, and later the recarpeting, repainting, and refinishing.

They're a good company. I was out of town at the time and had someone give them the key. They came in here on the honor system. I was pretty happy about everything they did. There were a couple of things I didn't like, but they're not large enough to cause a ruckus over. They were near perfect, which is pretty good. The Paul Davis Company is honest. They give you a square deal. It doesn't always fit the insurance grid. My insurance guy was here for an entire morning, measuring and going over every inch of the damage. They came up with a pretty good number, but it was shy of Paul Davis's number. But it wasn't horrendously different, Paul Davis's was just a little bit higher. It was pretty amazing. Everything is back together again. There's new baseboard, which I like. There was mildew on the old baseboard. There's nothing ugly about the job. It was good.
Description of Work: I had a leaky pipe and had to get the house dried out by another company, and to do that, they had to cut through the plywood and take off base boards, which Paul Davis fixed.

This company was chosen by my insurance company to replace flooring & repair damage to my garage from an air conditioning leak. The response was quick. I apologize that this is being written over a year later, so I've forgotten some of the names. I believe it was JD that came out initially. He and another person used a meter to try to determine where the leak was coming from. They determined it was in the garage as well, but it was I who bothered to move a filter that was leaning against the unit. THAT'S when it was discovered that the leak was coming from the a/c. Anyway, they tore up the flooring & the damaged wall & set up the blowers to dry everything out. The problems really began when it was time to select & buy the replacement flooring. I got the call telling me how much I could spend. I picked out the flooring I wanted (Lumber Liquidators also LIED about how much they had available, but that's a completely separate issue). I notified Terry Gates of the flooring I picked out. I was getting different information on estimates and such, and wanted to get it all pinned down. I felt like some of the numbers were incorrect. The response I got from Terry was "I'm already losing money on this deal". He made all the calculations for how much flooring would be required. He picked up what Lumber Liquidators actually had in their store, and said he was worried it wouldn't be enough. The guys got to work & the closer they got to finishing, the more they were telling me there might not be enough. LUCKILY, there was. They did not even out the foundation prior to applying the flooring. There are areas where the floor is sinking. I've got a piece of furniture up against the wall (one which they messed up when moving it), and there is a large gap between the flooring and the baseboard because of the weight. They used CHEAP glue, and I've got boards coming loose. ALL of the T molding is loose. It's a beautiful floor, and if they had done it right, I'd be really happy with it. Now I'm going to have to call the insurance company to see if anything can be done about it. THIS company will not be allowed to step foot in here again, so hopefully, the insurance company will let me choose someone else. Terry Gates is rude, unprofessional, and condescending. I will say the garage work turned out VERY well. That does remind me of something else, though. They installed the baseboards in the living room before the paint was dry, so there is also white paint on my new floor.
Description of Work: Installed new flooring & repaired garage wall after air conditioning leak caused damage.

Amazing! I've worked with contractors for 40 years and these guys were some of the best. Courteous, professional, on time, in time and done well. Found the damage on Sunday, they were out Monday morning and finished by Thursday in time to have the bedroom back for arriving house guests on Thursday evening. 5 different techs, different expert for each aspect of the repair and they were ALL polite, efficient and professional in appearance as well as performance. I'd use them again without hesitation. Thanks Paul Davis guys!

"Was a true pleasure to find a customer that recognized the quality craftsmanship of the people PDR" says Associate Ken Michel. Tradesmen, Ken Crooks and Kenny Michel, also chimed in how pleasing of a job it was—in and out of her way. The estimate proved accurate with no stone left unturned, too. No additional monies were ever needed. Thank you for calling Paul Davis Restoration to complete your repair needs. Best of luck in your job in Seattle.

Paul Davis Restoration was sent out by our insurance company to do the emergency board-up after a vehicle hit our house and put a sizable hole in our master bedroom. Their professionalism and attention to detail in that phase lead us to tell the insurance company we wanted Paul Davis to do the repair as well. After all the insurance business was taken care of, the bulk of the reconstruction work only took a couple of days. The repair was expertly done and from the inside of the house, you cannot tell where the damage was. We are still waiting for the final repair work on the outside, but that's more about stucco curing time than their schedule. I expect that work to be quality as well. We are so happy with their services that we want them to give us an estimate and consultation when we're ready to remodel our kitchen and bathroom.

Job was delayed until Feb until I could figure out proximity of leak but other then that the work would have been completed much sooner. I would definitely recommend and use Paul Davis Restoration for any of my future projects!
Description of Work: Replaced small part of my 2nd story ceiling drywall that was damaged from last fall's storm, cleaned entire carpet instead of just the small patch that was wet and restretched entire carpet but not before they had Dr Billiard's come and disassemble and reassemble my pool table that was on the carpet that got wet. After 4 estimates from contractors recommended by our Insurance Co., we tried "word of mouth" and connected with PDR. The other 4 contractors were unprofessional, unreliable and promise-you-anything-to-get-the-job types. PDR was none of these! All bids ranged from $6,000 to $35,000. PDR was neither the lowest nor the highest, but we felt fairly priced. We dealt with Gary Holmes, associate contractor with PDR. Gary epitomized good business practices: thorough, knowledgeable, courteous and responsive. He suggested many solutions to restoration challenges that were both practical and good looking. He kept us informed and visited the work site on a daily basis as needed. Communication on the project in general and specifically was outstanding. PDR's work crew was also exceptionally good (Robert Garcia and many others). Gary and Robert were anxious to please any reasonable request. Our only criticism was PDR's contract was "boiler plate"/"one size fits all" and not consumer friendly. After negotiating mutually agreeable terms, we felt comfortable moving forward. Gary and PDR addressed our contractual needs --- something important to us since we had experienced trouble in the past with another contractor. We would definitely seek our first bid from PDR for our future projects, requesting Gary Holmes as our contractor again.

We took a piece from another drawer to match the colour to their sample, and when the vanity arrived it was not the same color. It was clearly darker. We just went with it because we were tired of living without a vanity. You go in and pick out the colour and then Paul Davis Restoration, Inc orders it from another supplier. But when it came in they must have noticed that it was another color but they never said anything to us. I was disappointed in that, and I'm not sure whose fault it was but it was a major fault. Someone dropped the ball on that.

Paul Davis dispatched by AAA Insurance claims adjuster following internal wall water damage in basement barhroom. Repair cost estimating software used matches that of insurer so it makes claim filing easier. Water damage was to one of three bathtub walls, they estimatated for replacing all three walls due to tile type. I decided to go with alternate repair from a competitor and replaced only the damaged wall tile and installed a compatible tile color with the remaining two walls.

Thank you for your feedback. Paul Davis Restoration is an insurance restoration contractor and required to return damaged room(s) to their “pre-loss” condition. In this case, to effectively restore the bathroom and have it match throughout was to replace all three (3) walls. The estimate was reviewed and approved by the adjuster who agreed with our scope of work. [removed member name], we are glad you found a contractor who installed a compatible tile color and are happy with the results. Paul Davis strives for 100% complete satisfaction and though we were sad to see you go, we understood when you determined your course of action.

My home owners insurance company recommended Paul Davis after their claims adjuster reviewed some water damage in my kitchen island. I got other estimates, however, I was most satisfied with the overall communication I got from Paul Davis. Terry, their project manager came in reviewed the area, explained their process especially if extended water damage was found, and gave me a time estimate to preform the work. He was absolutely wonderful to work with, very thorough, professional and accommodating with my schedule. The people that did the work were all very good (carpenter, electrician, and plumber). The island was rebuilt, the wood stain was matched perfectly to the existing color, they were very neat, and timely. Again they were all most accommodating to my schedule. This was not a planned remodel, therefore their ability and willingness to work with me was huge.

This was a rental property and the renter and some of the workers did not hit it off. At one point a worker bumped and dented the renter's truck with scaffolding. That became a major blowout. They also unplugged his computer for no reason and he wasn't happy about that. It just wasn't a very pleasant experience.
Description of Work: Not real sure about the date. Too long ago and I want to forget the experience. This was an insurance claim for a kitchen fire. Because it was an insurance claim we were limited to what could be replaced and the quality unless it came out of pocket. The entire kitchen except refridgerator, dishwasher, counter tops and flooring was replaced. The entire first floor was repainted and carpet replaced.

Oh my goodness. Fire damages are the most problematic of restoration due to its unpleasant nature; smoke, soot, loss of memorabilia, and when you couple that with the process of cleaning and rebuilding—simply it is a stressful situation. A national company surveys the progress and quality of our work, which we scrutinize, ensuring we are in touch and responsive to our customer's needs. Although our files do not indicate the other instances, we have made a note of it. Thank you for your comments.

PDR&R showed up at fire scene (as did another company) and we were surprised that they knew about it so quickly. They told us that they could clean the front part of the house that wasn't involved in the fire but had smoke damage right away so the tenants could move back into the front of the house within a week while the damage in the back was being repaired. That was a big consideration for both the tenants and for us. However, working with our insurance company, we did get bids before making our decision and did go with PDR&R. Unfortunately, after we signed the papers with them, we were told that all clean up would be done after repairs had been completed so the tenants couldn't come back in until, I think, two months later so there were very bad feelings all around. We also had an issue with a door being put on backwards that their subcontractor insisted was correct (even though it made no sense) but they eventually found a picture showing how it was supposed to be and immediately corrected that. Because the adjuster didn't write everything down and although someone broke an overhead light during repairs that wasn't included in the insurance paperwork, some things didn't get done but the work they did based on the estimate was excellent. It took much longer than promised but they did do good work. Everything looked very nice. We were especially pleased with the stucco. You couldn't even tell it had been patched.
Description of Work: After a fire, PDR&R came in and repaired walls, replaced and added ceiling insulation, painted, cleaned, repaired stucco, replaced doors and smoke detectors, replaced carpet, etc.

Instead of just replacing the damaged window well in the front they had to dig up one on the side of the house that matched the other two in the front and then used the newly ordered part, that didn't match the others, to on the side. It is okay..could have been better.
Description of Work: They replaced a basement window well that was part of property damage from a vehicle.
