We were put on the slow track soon after we signed the contract. This was not objectionable at first, but we were not give any update or drawings to evaluate until the degn had been finalized per the architect -mumbled at a meeting in a way that we did not realize his intent. After this meeting , we called with our concerns and desires to modifiy the plans.. At this time , we were told that it would cost us more than our agreed contact amount to do these changes.. So we said OK- and more time went by- months in fact. The architect refused to change a particularlly objectionable design feature- which was also a building nightmare AND would require hours of costly structural engineering consults. There were other problems with these drawing but I feel they are too numerous to go into. When the plans were allegedly finished, we got another copy and asked a friend in the buisness to give us a rough estimate of the cost. Our friend thought the remodel would easily be two to three times our upper budget. My husband did some estimation of his own and found out this was the case. Slowly it dawned on us the extent that our initial objectives were completely ignored by these remodelling plans and we halted the project. I then asked for my money back, but the architect refused to do so. He did not respect our wishes, took our money, and I think, is in the buisness of drawing things that no one in their right mind would ever attempt to build.
Description of Work: Per agreed on contract they were to provide architectural designs for a remodel of our home. They provided us with plans that did not meet our stated desires of a budgeted amount, energy effeciency or even a well thought out design.
