Description of Work: Exemplary and professional job of rebuilding a failing, tall patio wall. But beyond that, used initiative and keen eye for aesthetics to cause the project to also make my front and patio area have much greater "curb appeal." Combines engineering knowledge with practical, hard work.

Description of Work: Masonry Structures built a Proto II wall (stronger and a little less expensive than a conventional wall) 6' above finish grade around the perimeter of part of our property.

Description of Work: I contacted J.J. Archuleta, owner of Masonry Structures Inc., after a noted NM landscape designer and author, referred him to me for construction of a fence on my property. I was having issues with a neighbor's pit bull burrowing into my yard from under a run-down wooden fence that separated our properties. The pit bull would come into my back yard by burrowing under the fence or just coming into my backyard anytime he wished as he was never on a leash and I had no gate. J.J. himself came out to give me an estimate that same day (Saturday) and understood my need to get the fence done as soon as possible. Although I usually get many estimates for each job, I felt comfortable enough hiring him that day without getting any others (unusual for me). I felt he was honest, knew what he was doing (he's also an engineer) and seemed concerned about the need to get the fence done quickly. People told me I could have gotten a cheaper fence but I feel I got more than my money's worth. J.J. worked with a difficult neighbor for me who did not want his fence moved at first. He stayed in communication with us both and we finally got the neighbor to agree to have the wood fence removed after a survey showed part of the neighbor's fence was actually on my property. J.J. removed the fence for him. J.J. told me it would take four days to complete the project. His crew started on a Monday as agreed. On Wednesday, he had heard their was a 50 mph or greater wind advisory for Thursday so he doubled up the team on Wednesday to get the fence done before the wind came. They started on the date and time promised, finished early and installed a concrete block fence approx. 80 feet in length and 6 feet tall. They also went about 2 feet underground so the dog couldn't dig underneath it, that made me happy!. Also, the fence has no pilasters as he uses special blocks.
