I spent somewhere between $4000 and $5000 with Lujan & Sons Construction. They did a good job in the end. They seem to do it in the time frame that I assumed that would work; we just had some weather delays. They usually give one break down of the cost and expenses. They just probably need to get a more detailed description and understand what they are doing. I am an architect so I know the work that they are required to do. However, for somebody else that doesn’t have a similar background, they need to know that they should get a real itemized break down of cost on a day-to-day schedule. They gave me a good price. They were probably too busy with another job at the time so they took time to get back to me.

The estimator arrived on time for the meeting. The job was completed on time and within the stated estimate. The stucco is lovely. The workers used extreme care protecting our new windows, and did a pretty good job cleaning up afterward. Lots of lessons learned for this first time stucco customer: There will be lots of nails and chicken wire all over your property. Buy a heavy duty magnet and put it on a string. Anything that's within 12" of your exterior walls will be moved (plants, turf, landscaping rock, etc.). Sprinkler heads that are right up against the walls should be relocated to preserve the stucco finish. After they power wash and patch, everything has to sit and cure for a full week. Your house will look awful. Don't freak out when you see the first coat of stucco. Think of it as a sort of primer. It covers a lot, but you will see flaws. Once the second coat is on, it looks great. Synthetic stucco stinks. Supposedly the smell goes away in about one week. I had some difficulty communicating with the Spanish-speaking crew; however, they did seem eager to help and did their best. It turns out that one of the English-speaking owners usually works with this crew and he was away for a wedding.

Estimator arrived on time. Work was completed almost on time and on budget. It took a bit longer to get a permit from the City than expected, but that was beyond the contractor's control. Workers were polite and do beautiful work.

Estimate was right on. They finished the stucco work before the deadline. They did a great job and we have had no problems since. They went above and beyond to make sure the color matched our house. I would recommend them to others.

We asked Lujan and Sons to provide an estimate for a major remodeling job at our home (new bath, room addition). The father-son team came out and appeared to be interested in doing the job, promising an email with details and an estimate within two days. It has now been over two weeks since they came and no estimate has been sent -- or any other communication for that matter. If they did not want the job, or could not do it, a simple statement to that effect at the time or within the promised two days would have been appropriate. Why waste our time -- or theirs?

The back yard had a wood fence and mostly old ugly trees. I hired Lujan & Sons to replace the wood fence with a stucco wall. The estimate was less than I had expected and the work was done promptly and my back yard looks great. The workers were prompt and courteous and responded to my needs, such as working around one tree I wanted saved. I plan to have them return in the spring to re-stucco my house and put in a front courtyard wall.

They put some sort of stucco or coating on our upstairs pation so it would stop leaking. THey did a very nice job, and they did not cause a big mess; you know you have to be careful with stucco, they were as careful as you could be. Very pleased with their work!! I would definitely recommend. nI was so impressed with one of the sons that came out that we did not get any other estimates, he was very thorough

The work was nice when it was first done. It rained on two separate occasions. The color from the stucco ran off and stained my windows and trim. It is a mess, the house is now streaked light and dark. I am very dissatisfied. I have called them out here, and they sprayed the house with something that is supposed to be a fixative. The paint has stained all the freshly painted windows and the stucco is all streaked.

They were excellent in their repair work and couldn't tell that work had been done. The price was great in comparison to a local company in the area. The company was a bit late due to another job but it was fine. The father and son were very friendly and gave them a walk through to make sure the work was satisfactory.

They were very professional. They were honest and very hard workers. They were reliable. I would recommend them to members and I have recommended them to people I know.

They seemed to work quickly and quietly without disturbing anything. They are people you wouldn't mind having around your home.

Had the best estimate, had a good guarantee, brought color samples, and then looked at houses we suggested for colors. Finally, customized our color and brought varying shades for us to see. They came when the said, cleaned up and did a beautiful job. They acted as if they had pride in their work and their company. The owner was on-site three times and his son daily.

LUJAN AND SONS DO A LOT OF STUCCO WORK AROUND THIS AREA, AND THEY MAKE IT LOOK EASY. STUCCO DEFINITELY HELPS MY HOUSE STAY COOLER, AND I NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT PAINT.
