Description of Work: fix our grandfather clock

Description of Work: cleaned and serviced a kaufman mantle clock, which was working very well before taking it there. After constant calling we finally got it back only to discover the chime was completely non functioning. We returned it picked it up another two weeks later still not working properly. Decided not to take it back waiting to save enough money to take it somewhere else

Description of Work: I have three antique clocks-one grandfather clock, a wall clock and a damaged cuckoo clock. London Chime repaired all three.

Description of Work: Our first visit was an older grandfather clock that hadn't worked in years. Ian came out and looked at. Advised us on parts that were needed and said he would call us when it was ready. He called us when the part came in, came back to fix the clock and it worked wonderfully for 2 1/2 years. Then the kids knocked into it and it stopped working. Ian came out today and made some minor repairs - now so far it is working again.

Description of Work: My Grandfather clock had stopped running. Ian took the works to his shop to replace bushings, give it a general tune-up (it had not been serviced in several years). He brought it back sooner than expected, but it quit as soon as he left. I phoned, he came back promptly, did a few minor tweaks, and it has been running perfectly.

Description of Work: Earlier this year a wall clock in our kitchen fell to the floor and stopped working. It was an inexpensive Regulator clock given to us by my late in-laws on our first wedding anniversary--more than 25 yrs. ago. Because of its great sentimental value, repair was a must. I selected London Chime because of one good review and the closeness of the business to our home. I think I brought the clock to them in April, 2012. It languished until mid to late May when I contacted them stating I'd come over and pick up the clock, which they agreed to. However, because of the sentiment involved and my reluctance to start over, I called back the same day and told them I'd relented and please do the job. After that I waited approximately another 5 weeks before I called back yet again. I intended to pick up the clock and write it off to a bad experience. The woman told me that the movement had "just come in" and would I please give them one more day to complete the job. I agreed and did indeed pick up the clock the next day.The work done was a replacement of the clock's movement which does appear to be a simple module. The clock is battery run. Our problems were completely addressed. The clock keeps good time and the pendulum swing is restored. The pendulum is merely decorative. The clock now has a pleasant chime and we are happy and grateful to have an old friend back home.

Description of Work: Repaired a grandmother clock

Description of Work: I own several mechanical clocks. Some are new and a couple are antiques, but thanks to this man they all work and keep resonably good time. I have several of the clocks in one room and their chimes are not always perfect, but close. I have been taking my clocks to this man for almost 30 years. Almost since I moved to Albuquerque. He will promise you the moon when you take them in to his little shop in the dining room of his house. But he does promise too early, and it seems like other clocks come in and he forgets he's working on yours. I do call at resonable times to check on my clocks and when they are fixed and adjusted about the time he promised. I asked him to see if he could find one for sale. Within a month it was ticking silently away in my house. It was very resonable in price and he set it up so it was level and working correctly before I gave him the money. I think the whole deal was at about 1/2 price, or the same thing I could find on the internet without paying shipping. These are only clocks left in the shop or clients ask him to sell them. I am very please with the work he has done for me and I recommend him often. I just wish he would give me a deadline for repairs and be finished by then, not six weeks later.
