LIGHTNING ROOFING

Buyer Beware! They got the original work because they were the lower bidder, but we got what we paid for. A portion of the metal roof was not properly installed. The portion not properly installed blew off in high winds after ~7 years. A properly installed metal roof should last 50 years. After they finally did call us back, they came out and looked at the work. We then spend weeks trying to get a repair estimate. It turned out they would not honor the warranty for labor or materials. They would not provide a written estimate to repair the work, but wanted me to negotiate with them over the phone. All around a bad experience. We will find someone else to do the repair work.

They did a good job. They were always on time and had the best price of the three estimates we got.

Daniel Regalado was recommended by the handyman I hired to replace a length of rotted soffit. The soffit rotted because the pitched tile roofing above it had deteriorated over the years, allowing water to penetrate where it should not have. Daniel seems conscientious but I had some problems understanding his English and he communicated with his crew in Spanish. We have had very little precipitation since the repairs were made less than three months ago, therefore, I cannot give an analysis based on performance over time. And Daniel didn't give me anything in writing which indicated a warranty so am not sure that I'd have him do more roof work. Albuquerque roofs seem to leak as a matter of course. Am not sure why--whether it's climate, design, construction practices, or the materials!

They gave us an estimate of $9630 for the job. He was a nice guy and actually went down on the price a little bit, but he told us that he wouldn't take the old roofing layer off. We did not use them because there was a stipulation in their agreement that said that the warranty may be voided by the company at any time without notice. I would have hired him but I had a real problem with that stipulation. I wouldn't take a quote from them again in the future because of the warranty issue.

They did good job. Years later they replaced some shingles due to some wind damage, and so they did honor the 10 year warranty.

THEY DID A FABULOUS JOB AT GETTING THINGS DONE IN A ORDERLY FASHION. THEY GOT A TRUCK TO TAKE ALL THE OLD STUFF AWAY. THEY DID LEAVE ANY MESS IN MY YARD AT ALL. THEY WERE VERY KIND.
