According to the online tracker, my furniture set arrived at the Hot Shot warehouse several days before I was contacted ? and that was after I inquired with the company I purchased it from regarding the delay. A Hot Shot representative first called Monday and left a message saying she would call the next day to schedule delivery for Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. When I called back late Tuesday afternoon, I was told by someone else they were scheduling for Saturday delivery, but they didn't yet have a more specific time so I would get a call back. I again did not receive a call so Friday afternoon I called and was told by a third person delivery would be made Saturday morning and the driver would call before they arrive. I did not receive a call Saturday morning so just before noon I called and was told by a fourth individual I should get a call back very soon because the truck was in my area and the woman at the office making calls for this delivery just stepped away from her desk. I called again at 1:45 p.m. and the same woman answered. I asked what happened with the call I was told to expect from the other woman and she said the other woman hadn't come back and she didn't know where she was. She said the deliverymen were still in my area and I would receive a call before they arrived. When I asked the woman I was speaking with if she could give me any indication of when that might be because I had already been told it would be delivered in the morning, the woman insisted delivery was promised between 8 and 5 so everything was fine on their end. I told her that was not what I had been told and she became quite curt with me asking for the name of the person who I had spoken with. I provided what I knew and again simply asked for some notice as I had errands to run (which I could have done earlier but I was waiting for the delivery). She put me on hold, then came back saying she had contacted the deliverymen and they would call me. At 3:45 p.m. the deliverymen arrived at my door. No advanced notice. They said they needed a few minutes to rearrange the things in the truck to get to my furniture. After a bit they brought in the first piece which was lovely, but then one of the men came inside and told me there was a problem with the next piece. I went outside where he showed me a hole in the box about 6 inches across. One of the pieces had apparently been run into by a forklift at some point in its journey -- at least that is what the deliveryman guessed happened. He also said this was the kind of day they were having. All I know for certain is a large hole was torn through the box and through the back of the leather couch. (I have a guess at what point in the shipping process this happened, but it?s only a guess so I won?t include it.) I told the deliverymen (one of whom was collecting pieces of packing material that were spreading across my yard) I couldn't accept the set and went back inside. A few minutes later they tried to bring in another piece, but I told them I wasn't going to accept any of the set since the couch was so badly damaged. They put the piece they were trying to bring in back on the truck and returned to collect the first piece. They were a bit rough with it taking it back out my doorway (the pillows were pulled from it and landed on the sandy concrete outside). They collected most (but not all) of the packing material and left. I was never contacted again by Hot Shot. The seller has been helpful and very apologetic, but Hot Shot was nothing but flippant, rude and unresponsive.
Description of Work: Hot Shot was the local delivery agent for furniture I had purchased online. I had not choice in the selection.

Turns out, the driver was not covered for auto insurance. I called on July 19, 2010 to have Hot Shots Services to help with the claim since it was their driver who sideswiped my daughter. After 3 calls and not receiving help, we turned the claim into my insurance. My insurance company sent a collection agency after Hot Shot Services. As this is being processed through my insurance, we found that Hot Shots Service company policy requires their drivers to carry their own vehicle insurance. However, since the driver that sideswiped my daughter did not have insurance, I am concerned that a lot of their drivers may not carry their own insurance. I would like Hot Shot Services to cover this claim. The damage was estimated at over $1,000.00. Our deductible was only $250.00. Hot Shots Services will not even cover our deductible.
Description of Work: My daughter was sideswiped on June 23, 2010 by Hot Shots services. The driver for Hot Shots provided my daughter with his insurance information.
