Description of Work: They fixed some plaster and it looks perfect. My only concern was that after I bought the special through Angie's list, they never contacted me. But once I called them, they were very responsive.

Description of Work: They were to paint 3 of 4 walks in a room. They purposely got paint on the wall they were told not to paint and have been in contact trying to get us to hire them at their regular hourly rate to fix the screw up they created. There is also paint on the ceiling that needs to be fixed.

Description of Work: Instead of one worker for 2hrs/$65,they sent two for one hour. It felt a little rushed, but the workers did a good job.

Description of Work: I originally left a message waited two days did not hear from back from him so I called again and he informed me he really does not do cabinets that it's a lot of extra work and he said he would double check and take a look he met me to go look and told me the project was going to cost me about $1000 which is way more than the 294 that I had purchased in the beginning.

Description of Work: Remodeled 2 bathrooms; misc household repairs such as replacing ceiling fans, faucets, replacing bathroom fans. Peter and Carlos did great work, on time, great price, started and finished when they said they would. I intend to use them for work around the house in future.

Description of Work: The two guys got there early, did way more work than I thought possible in 8 hours (4 hours apiece), everything from light electrical and plumbing to furniture fixing. I discovered one glitch after they left, and the boss came back and resolved it the following day. I'm making my list for the next round of repairs and hope to work with Hands On Company for many years to come.

Description of Work: There is a failure to communicate with the customer and within the company. Scheduling was a problem, and while the list of what needed to be done was sent by email, as requested, and again over the phone several times, the workers showed up without a clue of what the jobs were to be. Only one worker was qualified to do the initial and the secondary project, so the second worker was relegated to weeding the yard. While this was done to my satisfaction, I feel the hourly rate was too high for this type of "contractor" work. The initial job was to mix and trowel a skim coat over a concrete floor. I was very careful to purchase the correct amount of the product from the qualified seller (with whom I have spoken since). The contractor could not finish the job as he ran out of the product which I feel was troweled on, however expertly, was too thick, so the job is incomplete which will force me to purchase another five gallons of something which may take less than one gallon. Can't afford it, folks. He's willing to come back to finish the job, but won't be at the "bargain" rate through Angie's List. The second priority was electrical work, which again, the second worker was not qualified to do so once the concrete skimming reached an end, the first worker had to do it. The porch light didn't work. I gave him a new light bulb to check it, and was told the fixture blew out the light bulb. He told me to buy a new fixture and two new switches, and that he would come back (again at a different rate) and install them. After the workers left, I checked the light bulb ... it still worked in another fixture; was not "blown" at all. In the scheme of things, the two main projects are incomplete and I was told to spend more money on products so the company's qualified worker could come back at the regular rate to complete them. While the workers were professional, polite and cognizant of not letting my dog escape through the back gate, they arrived 35 minutes late which caused me to cancel a medical appointment which I made the scheduler very aware of when making the second, postponed appointment with the contractor.

Description of Work: They reattached pergola boards to the house and supports. They did a great job. The guys were friendly, helpful and hard workers. I will not hesitate to use them again.

Description of Work: After rescheduling several times, the company representative came out and we explained our landscaping project. He said that he wanted to bid on the project and a week later sent us a bid based on what we told him, which I guess we could consider an evaluation in that he had an understanding of our needs, but we did not receive the Landscaping Plans nor did he offer any suggestions or recommendations. We asked for the plans and over a week later he came out with some very rudimentary computer renderings that we could not make out and he did not explain. It appeared to me he did not really know how to use his landscape planning software. We really don't feel we got our moneys worth considering other contractors provided us with bids and better drawings of the landscaping plan than he did for free. We expected a bid, design advice based on our needs and a computer rendering that could be used for our landscaping project and that is not what we received.

Description of Work: They were easy to work with and they were flexible. They are also friendly and very punctual.

Description of Work: I have already sent in a rating on this provider, but here it is again. The first young man that was sent out on a $39 special from Angie's list was professional, but could not do the work required. He was supposed to install a dimmer for a light fixture. It didn't work. We asked him to fix a curtain valance. He said he did, but it fell apart as soon as I tried to open the curtain, just like it was before. I have to commend this young man for calling his office for help when he could not fix the dimmer. That help came on another day and indicated that we needed a new breaker. We gave permission to install. Then they said that the switch could be installed, but we would not be able to use the lighting fixture for long periods of time as the breaker would turn off. They said they need to drill into the ceiling, carve our a part of it, and re-wire the whole thing for a cost of over $1,500, if I remember correctly. |We declined as our house is only 8 years old and should not need to be re-wired to get dimmer switches to work correctly. |The one dimmer that was installed, was installed backwards so you have to flick the switch down to turn the lights on. We were very disappointed with this work and the entire purchase.

Description of Work: Removed a ceiling fan, built a door ramp for elderly dog, repaired hole in ceiling incurred by a squirrel, installed a toilet feature, installed a showerhead extender.
