The project was a disaster. They removed the roof and then disappeared. Meanwhile, it rained and our internal remodel was ruined. Then they sent shingle roofers to do our tile roof which was done incorrectly and had to be redone. They used substandard roofing material under the tile. We have paid thousand upon thousands of dollars repairing their roofing job. They do not stand behind their guarantee and it is a major project to even get hold of someone when you have an issue. Hiring them would be an expensive mistake. Today - we have another roofing company making repairs once again to the work done by Goodrich.

This was a large, complex job involving approximately 3500 square feet of pitched roof and 1000 square feet of flat roof in addition to replacement of gutters, two HVAC roof units and several Solatube skylights. It was prompted by the recent hail storm damage in our area in 2018. After much research we went with Owens Corning Trudefinition shingles for the pitched roof and the 60 mil EverGuard TPO roofing system from GAF for the flat roofs. We selected Goodrich because they were an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor as well as GAF Certified Master Elite Contractors and their estimate was very competitive with the other two roofing estimates we received. Special thanks to Paulo Varela. He was the Goodrich estimator but he followed through with the work and ensured that the roofing team understood all of the special details that needed to be worked out with the HVAC company (AirPro), the skylight company (Solatube) and the gutter company (ABQ Gutter Pros). Whenever we had an issue (and there are always issues on a large project), we just called Paulo and he took care of it! What else could you ask for? I would also highly recommend the other companies, AirPro for the HVAC and Gutter Pros for the gutters. They all worked well together with Goodrich to make this project a big success.

The work was done. It was a pretty good job. My problem with them is that they flat refuse to give me an itemized, detailed list of the costs for labor and supplies that went into the job. I need this in order to get my insurance claim paid. They are pretending that I have asked them to interact with the insurance company. No, I never did that. I asked for an itemized receipt. They refuse to give it to me after stringing me along for weeks with lies, promising to get me the info, apologizing for delays, etc. NOW they claim that they don't have to give it to me. Seems to me that for fifteen thousand dollars I ought to at least be able to get this. Don't deal with this company. They will lie to you. Their telephone ladies will hang up on you. They won't provide you with documentation of the costs for your money.

Worst experience ever!!! $12,000.00, eight month long nightmare, and the job still isn't right, finished or correct. The owner yelling at me on the phone and hanging up on me twice set the tone for what I knew was going to be a bad office visit, and it was. This "70 year company" has gone way down in quality to the point that nobody at their business even cares. They use outside contractors to do their roofs so there isn't even a Goodrich Roofing "crew". These Sub contractors then do Sub Par work as fast as they can so they can get on to their next Job/roof. We tried for 8 months to hold out on final payment, calling, texting, emailing to our service adviser (Goodrich sub contractor/ employee/ salesman) in the hopes Goodrich would make all their poorly done work correct... But all it got us were "screaming" threats (from owner, it was crazy) of home liens and lawsuits. We paid remaining balance so we "legally" have fulfilled our portion of the contract. Be very leery of this companies work practices of passing the buck from management to sub contractors and back in a round robin of no accountability. We have an appointment with another roofing company to fix the four remaining issues Goodrich dropped the ball on. Its my fear they will find many more issues with our mess of a "new roof".

It was fine. I do have one minor complaint. I'm not sure it's worth bringing up. It was a TPO roof. With the way they do that, it's kind of like they have a fancy iron where they seal all the seams on a rubber vinyl thing. They didn't get all the seams sealed. Within a few days, it was leaking in a spot and it did do some damage to the ceiling of a pantry and I still have that damage to this day and they didn't really offer to help with it. They did come back out and re-seal what wasn't sealed but I still need to spend about $200-$300 to fix that damage. They fixed the roof. They did not fix the damage. I decided it wasn't worth arguing about. I would have to guess that there was around 6 workers. I didn't really come into contact with any of them but the one guy I did have contact with seemed fine.

Gentlemen came to the house to give estimate of a roof tune-up, replace some missing shingles, re-seal vents and drains. Once estimate was completed I set up the day of service, they informed me no one needed to be home. That day I was off and never saw anyone come to perform the tune-up. I called and did not get an answer with the gentlemen who did the estimate so I called the main line and left word with the office. They took my name, number and all the info for the service request and have still not returned my call. I have attempted again to verify the work was completed and still nothing. Terrible customer service and follow through. Do not recommend.

Goodrich Roofing provided an estimate on 10/16/15, which the homeowner accepted and paid for with a credit card. We had scheduled the work for 10/22/15. However, the work was not completed until 10/29/15 due to scheduling issues. We are sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused. Please let us know if you would like Goodrich Roofing to do a roof inspection on the scope of work performed.

It took 4 phone calls to get the estimator to my home. Two more to try to get an estimate. I never did receive an estimate. Their response time to request through Angie's list was slower than other companies. Very disappointed as this company was recommended to me by two different friends. i am revising my review, again. All was fine, even great until the final invoice. The contractor said someone would call after the job was complete to see if there were any issues and how things were going. No one called. First red flag. I paid over 2/3 of the initial estimate of the job, days before the job was to be done. I used my insurance which they knew about too. I was told the final invoice would be sent to me. All of a sudden the office person, who now refused to send me my final invoice, calls saying they can't finalized till they get a copy of the adjusters quote. Strange they ask for this after the representative I worked with said they don't need paper work from my insurance because I work with them and they don't. The invoice was being held. I made the mistake of sending the adjusters quote and all went downhill. This office person would not give me a copy of the invoice and told me to contact my insurance company because they had the final invoice now. Um..Second red flag. A bate and switch going on. I finally got the invoice from my insuance, after numerous requests from me to the roofer rep and office person. In any event the final bill quoted every penny of what the insurance quote would pay, not the signed agreed upon quote and included all items the roofer didn't even do. Third red flag... Also the office person says my estimate was for cash only jobs, even though my signed contract said nothing like that. Nor was there ever a discussion about cash only. Why was I given a cash only quote when the rep knew from the start I was using my Insurance. We even discussed how he was a member of the same insurance company. The answer is, it wasn't a cash only quote, that's why. The quote I received was less than the insurance would pay so they decided to try change their bottom line by aligning themselves with what the insurance would allow. Claiming the job I selected was for cash only not for insurance jobs is once the work is done is common underhanded practice. I thought this was going to be a clean easy contract. They even Left off the Angie's list coupon for 250 we agreed to apply. Today I was sent a secopnd invoice ( got the revised one) minus the coupon, after I complained. The trouble is they listed $1,600 worth of work they didn't do and didn't change my cost to the $9250.. The owner wants to chat. No need to chat just provide the correct invoice. Well I did chat with Johnny, who said he was the Sales Manager then later said he was the owner which really made no difference. In the end he agreed to correcting the invoice a third time, to the price of $9250 plus tax minus the angies list coupon. He said they had added the new garage door, replacing window screens and a/c fin straighten by mistake and that mistakes happen. He said he would send me an updated invoice. I thought how strange all of a sudden it was sent to me not the insurance company. In the email I received that after Noon was the invoice with a note which read,"I?ve notified USAA this is no longer an insurance claim we will be handling" The insurance company thought it was an unnecessary statement and I agree. Claim finalized within minutes without any assistance from Goodrich.

Our roof began leaking with the rains in November, 2014. We received 3 estimates from 3 different roofers including Jim Welch with Goodrich roofing. During the room inspection, Jim and his son patched the area where the leak came through. He took the initiative while he was inspecting the roof. He was the only one of the three to do so. He also explained what he would do to make the roof more secure and leak proof. Mr. Welch was very straightforward, respectful and nice. When we received the estimates, Goodrich was the highest; however, the contract verified that Goodrich would perform the work as previously described by Mr. Welch. Due to the consistent follow through in writing and ESPECIALLY because Mr. Welch explained the work to us in detail, we hired Goodrich to re-roof our house. We were scheduled immediately! Mr. Welch brought samples of roof tiles the Friday before roofing began and we selected the same as on the previous roof. Early on Monday the roofers turned out in force! We counted at least 6 men working on the roof. The foreman consulted with my husband on several items including tree branches that needed to be trimmed, Mr. Welch stopped by early to check on the proceedings and consult with us regarding other materials. By the time we returned home at 3:00 pm the roof was complete! A few days after the roof was finished, I read through my April Angie's list monthly booklet and found a coupon for $250.00 off a re-roof for Goodrich Roofing. Although the work had already been completed, they still honored the Angie's list coupon. Our roof was inspected by the city the following Monday and passed with no problems! We are VERY pleased with our new roof. Goodrich Roofing Co. and ESPECIALLY Mr. Jim Welch were wonderful to work with. Throughout the entire process Mr. Welch told us that we were the ones in charge. We highly recommend Goodrich Roofing and would not hesitate to work with them again in the future.

Paolo came to give me an estimate and scheduled the roofing job. He was very professional in evaluating the damage and what needed to be done. I was told the work would be done on Tuesday; however, due to the rain issue we needed to move the date to Thursday to allow the roof to dry out. Nick called to confirm if the date was okay. He was very professional and willing to work with me. On Thursday his crew, Eddie and Felipe, arrived on time and took care of the issue and showed me photos of the roof prior to their work so that I could see what the previous contractor did not do. They were awesome. I cannot express the values and work ethics this company has. They truly take care of their clients. Bravo to everyone that was involved. I would most definitely hire them again and again. Thanks.

He gave us 3 options for soffitt ventilation and ridge ventilation. He was very personable, informative, professional. He took time to answer 3 women's questions. He was engaging. He seemed knowledgeable about his field and we feel that he gave us the best information that was going to benefit our house and our lifestyle even if it wasn't going to benefit his company right now. After paying someone else over 500 bucks to repair a roof leak, which did not work, I got on Angie's list and found Richardo's references. He came out to inspect the roof the same day I called him and was able to make the repairs the next day. Shortly after that, we had several hard rains and the roof did not leak. I am very pleased with the work, and am also pleased that Goodrich stands behind their work with a one year warranty on repairs. I am only sorry that I did not consult Angies list first so I could have avoided hiring the first person who was clearly inept. I will definitely used Goodrich in the future and refer anyone I know to this company.

In March, 2013, the State Farm adjustor called me to see if I knew anything why Goodrich is demanding in written and oral form an additional $8,676 (75% of the roof cost) for a shortfall in the roof completion job. In summary, I was told in several conversations thereafter with State Farm that they would not pay any additional funds on our roof job. Period.Over time since March, 2013, Goodrich has written me that two things have happened: 1.) They will not provide me with a Paid In Full receipt or a cost breakdown in lieu to satisfy my request for usual closing documentation to a business transaction until State Farm pays them the $8,676.2.) The other thing is that since 10/12, Goodrich cannot get an interpretation from the New Mexico Construction Industries Division (CID) as to when new roof codes went into effect justifying the additional material and labor costs Goorich incurred on our new roof to comply with these "new codes". By this time, I had filed a complaint with the BBB, whereby Goodrich "twisted" the facts and story to make themselves look good in their response. By then, I had found out directly from CID that Goodrich had filed for a roof construction permit, but that they had never requested an inspection of any kind, after requesting the initial permit. I confronted Goodrich through the BBB complaint about the lack of a roof inspection and their response was after over a year since the roof was completed, "we are negotiating with State Farm for additional $ and we can't get a response from CID about the new roof codes justifying the additional costs we incurred". Hogwash. State Farm has never negotiated with them for the additional funds. State Farm has simply said "no". No more funds, and the claim was closed in October, 2012. Kenny Campbell, the State Farm Adjustor has told me this unequivecally since March, 2013. In January, 2014, I filed a formal complaint against Goodrich roofing with CID, about the lack of a final roof inspection and our general concern that the Goodrich Roofing warranty could be worthless if a lousy roof was installed. In April, 2014, a CID roof inspector came out, inspected our roof and stated: 1.) That our roof was sound. 2.) 80% of consumer complaints with CID are against roofers solely, for things like inspection performance failure, lousy workmanship, and a general lack of "customer responsiveness", etc. 3.) The roof codes for Santa Fe County (where our home is located) are basic, etc and with no changes since at least, by the inspector's recollection, since 2009? Our home is only 11 yrs old. The labor and materials Goodrich performed on our roof are the normalingredients necessary to do a proper job on a flat roof so common to New Mexico. End of story. My summary: Why should consumers go through all this? I am simply asking for proper documentation to close a transaction by requesting a Paid In Full Receipt. Why should consumers find out too, that roof inspections by regulatory agencies are purposely avoided on the part of the roofing company, often because these roofing companies are trying to extort additional funds from the insurance companies. I'll come out and say it: in this case, Goodrich was plainly trying and probably still is, trying to extort additional, unwarranted funds from State Farm. I think this all is justification to ever recommend Goodrich roofing to anyone. Their slimy business practices are a detriment to have trust, etc with a company like that and give good cause that they even did the job right.
Description of Work: As a result of a hailstorm in August, 2012, State Farm Insurance, our carrier, determined we should get a new roof for our SW style flat-roofed home. They awarded us $11, 543 for a complete new roof. Goodrich Roofing was at the time actively pursuing roofing business in our neighborhood from other hailstorm-damaged homes. The Goodrich representative went on our roof along with the State Farm claims adjustor and they both agreed in front of me to the extent of the roof job, and seemed to agree on the general cost. Shortly thereafter my wife and I received a check directly from State Farm. We then disbursed to Goodrich Roofing once the roof was done in October, 2012, the $11,543 allocated for a new roof (the amount determined by State Farm) with our Goodrich contract stating we had no additional personal $ liability. Goodrich never sent us a Paid In Full receipt which we want to complete the business transaction, especially to show a future buyer for the entire cost of a new roof, as if we had paid for out of our own funds.

Response from Goodrich Roofing
Goodrich Roofing disputes the allegations stated in the members review. The facts are: 1) Terry Jones with Goodrich Roofing met with State Farm @ the Williams Residence. Thru Terry Jone's knowledge & experience the member was able to negotiate a settlement with State Farm to replace the roof @ the member's Residence. As part of the package presented to him, Goodrich Roofing upgraded his roof from a Modified Bitumen Roof to a TPO Roof System a $5,000.00 upgrade at no charge to the member. 2) In August 2012 the Edgewood area was experiencing hailstorms & a lot of rain. In order to protect the Residence from interior damage Goodrich Roofing scheduled the work to be done however, Goodrich Roofing was asked by the member to delay the project until he returned from a trip in October. The roof was completed in October 2012, no leaks or issues with the roof have ever been reported by him to Goodrich Roofing. 3) He did file a complaint with the BBB. The BBB has responded to the member repeatedly regarding the issues in his complaint but he refuses to this day to accept the BBB's decision as a neutral third-party that his complaint has no merit. 4) the member also complained to the New Mexico Insurance Commissioner, his complaint was denied. 5) He filed a complaint with the State of New Mexico Construction Industries Division (CID), the CID opened an investigation on his alleged code violations & found there were no code violations. The investigation was closed after two separate inspections by CID Inspectors. The second inspection being done by the Chief Building Inspector for the NM Construction Industries Division. 6) Goodrich Roofing communicated to the member in an email on March 27, 2013 that he personally did not owe Goodrich Roofing any more money. 7) the member has an upgraded roof which has never leaked. His new roof is a result of the efforts of Terry Jones, Goodrich Roofing & State Farm. It's time to quit the name calling and personal attacks.

I called for a free estimate and Paulo came on Friday and assessed the damage took pictures so I could view the work that needed to be done. A couple of days later I was contacted by his office to make the payment and was scheduled to get the work done the very next day. The supervisor arrived around 10:00 a.m. and began preparing my roof for the tune-up. His other workers arrived shortly after and began the work. They were very efficient and completed the job in about three hours. Later that day Paulo called me to let me know that he would be by the next day to ensure everything was completed appropriately. Goodrich Roofing was awesome.
