Sales person professing to have "chemistry knowledge" told me that I was to apply product UNDILUTED and leave for one hour. I read the instructions before I was rung up and it said to add water. I questioned this and the sales person said that "You can add water if you want, I guess. But we don't." I said "Does it work better without adding water?" He said "Yes." We used the product according to the sales person's instructions. It did not work. I then called the manufacturer's tech support. The technical advisor said that water had to be added for the product to work. I called back Fanta Se and spoke to another sales person. I told him that I had used the product without adding water. He replied "That is correct. That is the way we use it." When I informed him that the product tech support person had said this was incorrect all he answered was "Oh." I called back the next morning and spoke to Russell, the owner. His immediate response was hostile. "Look, I don't give refunds. Period. If you want to buy two more bottles, I'll give you a discount" When I explained that his sales people were giving incorrect information, he confirmed that they did not mix the Detach II with water and that they "flood the floor with water after it's applied to keep it wet." "Isn't that adding water then?" I asked him. (I was not told to do even this.) When I said that I had planned to use their other products to finish the floor, he said that if I came in and "signed right now" to have them do the concrete finishing he would "give me" two bottles. I said that I really didn't think it would be good at this point to do business with someone so clearly belligerent and trying to strong arm me into a sale. (He hung up as I was speaking.) I never raised my voice or was unpleasant in any way.
Description of Work: Company sold a product (Detach II) for purpose of mastic removal. Two of the sales people and the owner gave instructions counter to those on the bottles, though I questioned this after reading bottle instructions myself. I deferred to their alleged "experience" and used product according Fanta Se Floors' employee instructions. Product did not work. I called product tech support and was told that instructions by Fanta Se flooring store were incorrect. Owner of Fanta Se flooring refused to replace product without charge or refund money for product used according to his store's instructions.

They hired young teenage kids who didn't know what they were doing and were not trained. They didn't properly clean the floor. When they painted, they didn't sufficiently remove the dust. When I called them to come out and look at the job, they said nothing was wrong. I took them to court and won the case. I ended up winning $3500. I got $2200 after paying the lawyer. They did the inside of the house, but that turned out ok. I had to do the prep work inside of the house.
Description of Work: They did a flooring job in a big patio.
