Description of Work: Purchased the Big Deal and made an appointment. He didn't show up or call. I had to track him down and he said something about having to go take care of his brother. I didn't reschedule and asked for a refund.

Description of Work: I had an extremely large amount of old timbers and trash items. It took them 2 loads including the back of the pickup to haul it all away. The 2 guys were very nice and worked while I talked with them. David the owner gave me an estimate for different things I wanted to do. He broke it all down on the estimate with each item having a separate price because of the nature of the job. He was extremely friendly and courteous. I was very satisfied with the work and will use them again the future.

Description of Work: Lawn aeration. Before aerating, it was necessary to first mow the lawn. After mowing they performed the aerating, they cleaned up the plug cores, and left the lawn looking nice and clean. They showed up on time and worked in a professionally efficient manner. Description of Work: A few weeks ago, we received an email from Angie’s List asking us (am paraphrasing because the email is long gone) if they could be of help regarding any work or service we needed. Thank you Angie’s List for this email because we decided to ask for suggestions regarding some plant trimming and it paid off. We usually go out every fall, several hours a day, a few days a week to trim plants and bag the trimmings; the bags number in the dozens and it takes over a month to get rid of them because only a few fit in the garbage can a week. When we’re done, the landscaping never looks good because we don’t have a blower. The whole process is time consuming, a pain in the neck and the outcome is a messy looking yard. Angie’s List sent us an email with a deal we liked. Since this was our first time using this process in dealing with a service company, we called up Angie’s List and the person who answered the phone took care of everything. All we had to do was call up Empire Yard Maintenance to set up a time convenient for us. The deal was for two men for two hours for $100. It took the fellows less than an hour and a half, including trimming the tree in the front—they bagged the trimmings, hauled them off and used a blower. Everything looked beautiful and neat when they were done. What would have taken us weeks from start to finish was done in less than two hours and it looked 100% better than anything we could have done, WORTH EVERY DIME! The two men who did the work were professional and no-nonsense. We’re completely satisfied and plan to use them again next year.

Description of Work: My yard was dying fast, I called Empire and he was quick to respond. He charged me $133 to put down fertilizer/weed treatment and fungicide I could have bought at home Depot for about $20! I could have done that! When I called him back as it wasn't working he wanted to charge me $35 more for weed treatment saying that the original weed and feed wasn't really good for killing weeds...that's one of two reasons I wanted the first treatment. David was a very personable individual, but I felt that I had gotten screwed on the treatment(s). Don't recommend.

Description of Work: Empire removed and cleared out dead bushes and weeds. Leveled the ground and put gravel down. They were on time, courteous and very professiional. Will definitely use them again.

Description of Work: The guys did an excellent job of pruning, digging up stumps and shrubs, and cleaning up everything and hauling away. I am very pleased.

Description of Work: Jason and Nathan come out weekly to mow the grass and blow off debris from walks, patios and driveway. If they have extra time, they will do whatever we request such as removing the elm seeds that are everywhere. We can always pay an extra fee for additional services. They are very pleasant and professional. Glad we switched to them from our old company.

Description of Work: The crew showed up without the requested equipment. Apologized, and said they could finish the job later. They had to rent equipment and they were late in getting to the rental place, so the rental place was out of equipment. If these guys are supposed to be professionals, they should know to show up early when they need to rent equipment. They did offer to come back later, but that was not an option as I had other obligations. They refused to come back on Sunday (the next day). 'F' for effort, and I certainly wouldn't 'try' to use them again. We own 2 businesses ourselves and can't sit around until it is 'convenient' for someone we are paying to do the work :-(

Description of Work: Two men arrived promptly and went to work! They aerated and dethatched our lawn in a timely manner. Then they raked up all the dead grass and used a leaf blower to clear away any extra grass from our back patio and back steps. We were impressed!

Description of Work: David Peltz returned my call quickly and had the work done before the week was out!!! His crew were fast, thorough, courteous and did a superior job. When my husband reviewed the work, there were minor things he wanted "touched" again, so I called David and his crew came the same day as my call and touched up for my husband. No doubt we have found our Lawn maintenance company. Are planning to do some minor landscaping this summer and Empire is the one! Empire trimmed bushes, aireated and fertilized lawn, cleaned out under bushes and plants and sprayed gravel landscape for weeds.

Description of Work: They are super responsive and that's always the first grade in my book. they're also up with the times on technology, like online billing. I can be 1000 miles away and these guys can do their work and send me a bill.
