I ordered a mirror and was told it would take 4-6 weeks. I waited 5 weeks and phoned. I was told it was not ready and would be another week. They reminded me that they might take 6 weeks to complete. I was also told by the receptionist that she would call me back and let me know where it was in the process. I never heard from her. Yesterday I went to their office and the receptionist went to the warehouse to talk to the person working on my project. She said he could not get the angles right on my mirror and would not be able to work on it until next week because the boss had a project he wanted done. I was extremely annoyed that after 6 weeks they had not worked on my project at all. She told me I could get my deposit back. After the second time she suggested that I cancel, I decided to cancel the job. I felt that worker really did not want to do the projects and that was why she kept recommending that I cancel. I will be building a home next year and I surely will not do business with Dwight's glass and mirror.

Description of Work: Needed some work on a frame-less glass shower door handle and bottom sweep. Called there and the phone person basically guided me through the simple DIY process that fixed all for the least cost possible. Honest and helpful. Will definitely call them for help when needed.

A few years ago we had our master bath remodeled. That included a tile shower. Dwight's installed the glass door. From the beginning we had problems. I will stick to the major issues. The shower door began to leak around the frame after two months. Dwight's did make the repair. However, after two years there was extensive mold under the shower door frame which was due to unnecessary and improperly drilled drain holes that the Dwight's repairman had performed on the previous repair. When I called to report the problem I spoke to the original salesman, Danny. He was rude and argumentative. He refused to send someone out to look at the shower. Instead he told me to email him some pictures to prove that there was a problem. I did so and after Danny showed the pictures to his supervisor a repairman was reluctantly sent to my house. After the repair it was obvious that a new problem had arisen. The door no longer fit properly. Within two weeks the vinyl sweep at the bottom of the door was ripped due to the tight fit of the door opening. I called Danny about the problem. He was again rude and argumentative and again demanded pictures. I did as requested and never heard from him again. I tried calling him and leaving him messages and sending him follow-up emails with no response. The shower sat unused for several months. There is a lifetime warranty from the shower manufacturer but based on the way I was treated, Dwight's doesn't appear to warranty their installation or subsequent repairs. I finally had a repairman from another glass company look at it. The original problem was fixed after multiple attempts. However, I continue to have problems with the shower but am able to use it with special precautions. I recently obtained an estimate from a third company to properly fix all of the remaining problems. The estimator suggested that I instead call the owner of Dwight's to see if he would help. I called the owner, Tim and spoke to him personally about two months ago. Tim did not ask for any details about what happened or what problems there were. Instead he took my number and said he would look into the situation and call me back. It's been two months and not a word. I will not use Dwight's for anything in the future and I tell all my neighbors to steer clear of the company.

Rude, unprofessional. If you live in the east mountains, don't waste your time on these guys. They will tell you they come out to the east mountains, but they really don't!
Description of Work: I live in Cedar Crest(east mountains). I called Dwight's at the recommendation of my realtor as I have a couple of windows needing replaced prior to listing my house. When I call for service from Albuquerque, I always begin my conversation with "Do you service the east mountains", as some providers do not, and if they do, they usually tack on additional charges for travel, gas, etc. After confirming that "yes, we service the east mountains", the lady that answered the phone spent 5 minutes explaining that they would only come to my house if "they had other business out here". When I asked her to clarify, she stated that I would have to measure my windows and call back to see if it would be worth it for them to give me a "free estimate", and that it would only happen if they had other "reasons" to be out here.

Response from Dwight’s Glass & Mirror
I received a call from a gentleman (he never gave his name) who asked me if we service the East Mountain area. I told him we do but we are not out there on a regular schedule. We go out to the East Mountains when we have work out there. He said he wanted a price to replace the glass in a couple of windows that needed to be repaired. I told him that if he could give me the approximate size of the windows, tell me what kind of frame they have and approximately how high off the ground they were that I could give him a price right over the phone and he could decide if he wanted us to do the work. He said he preferred not to do that and would like someone to come out and check the windows to give him a price. I told him that we do "free estimates" in the East Mountains only when we are already out there doing other work. I told him no jobs were currently on the schedule for the next week or two for the East Mountain area. He said he did not want to measure because the windows were high off the ground and he would have no idea how to figure out the approximate size. I told him we require a 50% deposit to come out and get exact sizes and proceed on a job so if he wanted to pay a deposit that would cover the measurement fee for the East Mountain area that I could get a time scheduled to come out and do the estimate. He said he did not care how much it cost (within reason), he was told the glass had to be replaced to sell the house, but he did not want to pay anything until he had a price. I asked him again if he could get some idea of the size and I could put together a quote for him. He said he would have to figure out a way to measure the size and call me back and he hung up the phone on me. He never called back. It was not my intent to frustrate him or to seem rude. I was actually trying to help him and am sorry that he did not see it that way.

They were very close to me. I had a big mirror taken out of the bathroom to build some cabinets. I did not want to throw away the mirror so I had them resize it to fit in the bathroom cabinets.

It was great. They showed up on time to measure and provide the estimate. They had to make a new window, and called when it was ready to install. They cleaned it all up. They also repaired several screens. Nice work!

Mike arrived promptly and was courteous and efficient. He explained the rollers would normally need to be replaced once every 5-10 years, ours was about 10 years old. He cleaned the roller tracks and the glass before departing. Rollers were only $8, the rest was labor and tax.

Dwight's Glass did a wonderful job! I cannot say enough good things about this company. I talked to a salesman and he was very professional and thorough. I believe his name was Justin. First I went into their showroom to get an estimate on a shower door. He explained all the different options for my wife and I perfectly. He explained the pros and cons of each style and let us choose all the options that would be best for us. We choose the 3/8" thick frameless style because it was the nicest and most elegant. We took Justin's advice that the frameless was the best quality especially for resale value and there are not a lot of places where soap scum can build up because the absence of framing. He was able to give us a price in about 5 minutes once we choose the hinges and handle. The foreman came out to measure a couple days later and the install was a few weeks after that. Both the foreman and install crew were also very professional. They completed install in about 2 hours and cleaned up any mess before they left. We love our new shower door so much that we also ordered some mirrors from Dwights Glass as well. We found out that they are a locally owned and operated family business that has been around for nearly 50 years. That says a lot for a company. Don't hesitate to hire them for any work you need. We were very pleased.

Looked for mirror cutting service on Angies List. Dwight's showed promise. The phone call revealed they were swamped with work, but leave the mirrors, and they will get to them when they get a chance. Since we were passing Dwight's shop, we dropped in. The show room person asked us to wait, then told us to bring the mirrors to the side door. We were out in less than a minute with two cut mirrors at 1.00 a cut, plus new hangers all for under 5.00. Mounted, the room looks great.

I had 3 glass shelves cut to a template I provided. The work was done to specifications and was done in a timely manner. When I went to put in the shelves, I discovered the template worked for the top shelf but not the other 2. I returned to Dwights and asked them to cut down the other 2 shelves by 1/4". To do this they had to reshape the curved corners. They did this fix the same day for no additional cost even though the mistake was all mine.

No work performed.
Description of Work: I called the company to arrange for an estimate. The person who answered my call took my information and promised to call back to arrange for an estimate. Several days later, I have not received a call from them. Consequently, although I cannot speak to the company's ability to provide glass installation, I can say that their responsiveness to a prospective customer is lacking.
