Description of Work: We've used them 10 times already, starting in 2008, and wouldn't think of using anyone else. Two of these times were for complete household moves. We also use them for moving furniture in and out of storage units, moving heavy furniture and other items within our homes, and pickup/delivery of furniture purchased at estate sales. In all the over 50 moves I had while being transferred during my working years, Duke City Movers is the only commercial moving company that ever moved my belongings without damage, showing consideration for my belongings as if they were their own.

 + -1 moreThey trashed our brand new refrigerator/freezer. It wouldn't fit through the front door so they just pushed harder. There is now a big gash in the back of the frig and several scratches on the front.
Description of Work: Moved large furniture and appliances from our old residence to our new one. The move was local.

 + -1 moreRichard, the owner, brought extra help because of a job he had AFTER ours, and then charged us $400 more than our $600 estimate because of that extra help! We used them because of the estimate - and to top it off, not only were items damaged (a bookshelf, walls) and no accommodation made, the next night we were robbed. We feel SURE it was because of the laborers he had hired "casing" our house. So we are out another $800 in stolen tools, etc, and SURPRISE Richard won't return our phone calls.

 + -1 moreWe were supposed to get a senior discount. We did not. This company gave us an estimate, then at the end of the day, when your items are already packed up, they tell you there will have to make another trip, or get another truck which results in additional charges. This company does have not have their own fleet, they rent the trucks. They also broke a new chair of mine by hitting it against the wall and then the chair was taken. They broke dishes and also dented my LCD tv. They broke all the buttons off my dryer.
Description of Work: They were supposed to just move us locally.
