I hired Mr. Dooley to do some landscape design work; One design for the front yard and one design for the backyard. We agreed on the price and he delivered to me a full color design as promised. Unfortunately when he delivered the design he only delivered one set of plans for the front yard and one set of plans for the backyard. When you go get bids, contractors need to see a copy of the design; (I needed to hire block workers & sprinkler/landscaping workers). I asked Mr. Dooley if he could get me a electronic file he was unable to. I have a program that can read any 2D or 3D file so any file extension would work for me. Unfortunately he was not familiar enough with his software to be able to give me an electronic copy. I had to take his drawing and re-draw it so I could make copies for contractors. I paid $700.00 dollars for his services.

Mike spends a great deal of time making sure that he completely understands what the homeowner is looking for. We appreciated the suggestions and attention to detail that Mike provided in our professional designed beautiful oasis created specifically for our family. Four years ago, Mike provided my husband and I with an amazing front yard and recently he completed the plans for a multiphase re-design of our backyard. Mike was professional and prompt. He explained the details through drawing during the first visit to my garden. He was very knowledgeable and provided me different ideas that were suitable for my garden and budget. After we agreed to proceed with landscape design, his team started working and finished the landscape in the timely manner. I would choose this landscape designs company again for Mike's and his crew's reliability and quality works.

I've had the same yard for years, and wanted a bit of a change. I had no idea where to start, but my neighbor told me about Mike's plans/designs. I gave him a call and he came out when it was convenient to meet. He gave me some ideas, we talked about the pros/cons of everything. The man knows his stuff! When he gave us our design, my wife and I were thrilled. I've spoken to an installer and its all getting done in the next few weeks. I will use him again for our back yard!

The experience was fine, they were good. I?ve only used them once. They did what they said and they did it well. I don?t have any improvements, they were fine. It was a day job.

Dooley was the sub-contractor for the paver installation. The crew had the misfortune of staff turnover and personal problems on the first day of installation. The crew worked hard, but we experienced communication problems with the company owner. The finished product was not as expected and we were disappointed. We anticipated a particular result to tie-in with a future project. Options and outcomes were not adequately presented to us. At the end of the project, in attempting discussion with Dooley, we felt insulted, provoked, with concerns dismissed, analysis derailed and we became angry. Unpleasantries were exchanged and everything ended on a bad note. Dooley is considered a plant expert and has a good website that features his favorite plants and more. We intended to work with The Garden Nanny as lead (found her on Angie's List). Dooley was to be used for plant reference and pavers. We would not recommend Dooley for projects with pavers.

Mike Dooley presented a plan to completely redo our landscaping, including removing all grass, rocks, old and outdated plants, and a very large yucca. His plan included replacement plants, trees, ground covers, and boulders. The work required almost 5 days to complete, and the result is excellent. His crew was professional and responsive to all our questions. They were very hard-working. We have already received compliments form neighbors and friends, some of whom have asked for Mike's contact info. Since the work was just completed, we don't know how well the plants will survive the hotter weather, but we are confident Mike will stand by his guarantee. We would definitely recommend Dooley Landscape for any size job.

Mike was very professional with the design and installation of my Mothers backyard landscaping. In the past he has serviced my own backyard and I have previously recommended him to other friends and family members. His designs are just gorgeous and I am amazed how my Mothers backyard just increases with beauty each year as the landscape matures. The only caveat is if you need ongoing maintenance of your yard, he may recommend The Garden Nanny. In my mothers case she needs someone to take care of it for her. Getting this beautiful landscape maintained has been nothing but a headache trying to use The Garden Nanny. In this third spring of maintenance needed for moms backyard I will seek another company. Dooley landscaping can give you the backyard of your dreams. They just can't do ongoing maintenance for it.

His crew completed the landscaping in less than a week. They kept things orderly while they were here and cleaned up before leaving at the end of the day. Some of the plants in his design weren't available at the time of the landscaping but were planted as soon as they became available. Mike kept in contact with us thru the summer, gave us care advise as we went along, and replaced a handful of plants that failed to thrive. The yard looks great and we look forward to watching the plants grow and fill in over the next few years.

He was very good. The work was done well. The price was reasonable. They were very reliable worker, they showed up on time and there was no problem.

He was very nice but we just went with the other people. He was nice. He came one day. I would give him 'A's. He had good ideas. I would give him 'A's on all. He came when he was supposed to. He made things clear. Quality of work doesn't apply because he didn't do the work for us. He was great. We just chose to go with the other people.

I was just unhappy with the plans. I would not use them again in the future.

He is incredibly gifted and he is a nice guy, but he is expensive. He gets paid for what he does and he gets paid handsomely. I supposedly you can do it on a budget but you need irrigation, you need trees taking down and all the stuff so in addition to 10 grant it is going to be another three grant. Anyway he is a very nice man. He is decent, he is honest and he is incredibly gifted. He is the best I have ever seen. I would use him.

My wife and I spoke with and received proposals from a few different landscapers, we also talked to several friends and neighbors that had already had their landscaping replaced (both good and bad) and we looked at a lot of before and after pictures on several local landscaping web sites the vast majority of those designs we found to boring and unoriginal. The breath of fresh air in the process was Mike Dooley, we found Mike to be very knowledgeable in both design and plant selection, he provided a detailed drawing of his design and a line item proposal. Mike and his crew did excellent work on the installation and we couldn't be happier with the end result. We plan on using Mike again for our back yard remodel.

I contacted Mike Dooley because of an ad I saw in the marketplace. He also had written an article that I enjoyed reading. He agreed to come to my home to see what we had in mind. He easily tolerated the differences my husband and I had about the project and addressed each of us until we finally agreed on a plan. He followed up the next day with plans to scale and a price that came in below budget. (hard to believe, but true) Within 4 days they started the project. It took less than 2 days and we were extremely pleased. His crew was very professional and pleasant to be around. I would highly recommend Dooley Landscaping. I have to re-visit this review. Do not expect call backs to be pleasant. Some of my plants had not made it through the winter. There was a guarantee on the plants. Mr. Dooley was short about it but sent Sergio out to replace. When Sergio arrived he noticed an area that looked under planted and found another dead plant. When I pulled the set of plans we were missing three plants from the landscape that I had paid for. Sergio advised me to call Mr. Dooley to replace them. When I called he was very upset with me for not telling him before Sergio got there. I apologized. He then hissed at me that it would be the last time he came. I then e-mailed and apologized for angering him and said to forget it if it was too much trouble. He e-mailed back and said of course he would replace the plants. In the next e-mail he said Sergio would be here on Friday. Well, I've been waiting for around 4 weeks for that to happen. I think he took the it's too much trouble route. Another re-visit. After posting the earlier review Mike Dooley contacted me and apologized and took full responsibility. As this is his busy season, somehow I fell through the cracks. By that afternoon all my plants were in the ground. My faith has been restored.

Mike provided a professional landscape plan, complete with photographs of each plant he would be installing. I thought some of the plans looked a bit bare, but he said that the #1 mistake most people make is overplanting, and that the plants would grow quickly, resulting in a beautiful space that did not look overcrowded. He was right: two years later, and my yard is gorgeous - one of the nicest yards on the block! And all that "negative space" I was worried about really add to the charm of the design. Mike's crew was professional during the installation. They made a few mistakes and communication was not always 100% -- for example, the crew nearly installed the drip to the ocatillo, which we'd discussed would die if put on the drip. One other small issue was that Mike forgot some of the changes we discussed -- he tended to forget whatever changes were made after the original plan was drafted, if those changes were not written down. I do understand this completely, as my memory is no better than his! We easily worked out these issues, and he was amenable to the changes we agreed upon, even when he never fully remembered what we'd discussed. So in summary, I recommend staying nearby during installation days and making sure that all plants go where agreed upon and that the details are taken care of, and also taking notes on any updates and changes. Also, a couple of the plants died during the first year, and Mike did not hesitate to replace them free of charge - including the re-installation. Finally, the company he sub-contracted with was equally professional.The drip system works great. I had a few minor issues with the drip system post-installation, and they came out within 48 hours to take care of the problems. Overall, a great experience, and I would not hesitate to use Mike's company again.

The was punctual and his crew was excellent. After almost two days of work they spent considerable times to do a beautiful clean up jog. The design that Mike drew up was much more attractive than I could have done on my own FOR SURE!! I had no problems at all. Several neighbors have already requested his contact information.

Dooley Landscape Designs did a great job. Mike Dooley came out to our home, listened to our ideas, offered suggestions, and came back with a beautiful, well-designed landscape plan. Mike's landscape IQ was what really made the difference between a run of the mill, nice landscape and the beautifully designed front yard that he created for us. Mike and his crew were always responsive, prompt, and took great pride in their work. After a cold winter, I called Mike to see if he could replace some of the plants that were still under warranty. Mike had them replaced within just a few days. I will be calling Dooley Landscape Designs whenever I have landscaping needs in the future.

Mike Dooley and crew arrived on time. Mike explained the whole process and all the work was completed in a professional manner. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. My yard was transformed from ugly and uninviting. I am so happy with my new front lawn and so are my neighbors! I will recommend Dooley Landscape Design, LLC to all my friends and family.

I LOVE MY LANDSCAPING!!! Mike Dooley Rocks!! He designed my new landscaping acording to what I wanted and gave expert advice to insure the best possible results. I couldn't be happier and it's a pleasure to come home and see his amazing work!

My job was scheduled for 9:00am. Mr. Dooley & his crew arrived @ 8.55am & gravel delivered @ 9:00am. Crew immediately started working and the whole job was down in one day. Crew was very professional & pleasant to be around. Mr. Dooley was very patient and answered all of my questions. When crew left for lunch-they notified me when they left & came back. I am very pleased with the work and love the gravel color.

Our first meeting went very well and I was very pleased. Professional and direct to the point. Depending on estimate I will be using the Garden Nanny.

He's well-known in the community for his plant knowledge. It was a good experience and it was uncomplicated. There was a question regarding the initial bid amount on a certain portion of the yard and he compromised it. At that point in time I didn't really like him but after that, overall, he did good. He certainly followed the schedule and the gardeners worked really hard.

Showed up on July 4th and worked continuously in 100+ temperatures. Came back after July 4th weekend and finished with filler gravel. Had two plants die afterwards and Mike replaced both with no hassel or issues.

Initial job was completed on time. However, this company never fully completed the job (did not get all of the plants that were on the original contract). The customer service has been terrible. Never have they responded to my calls and after almost a year have not replaced the few perennials that have died.
