Description of Work: The winter of 2011 was brutal on most of our rental properties landscaping and irrigation systems. One property in particular was completely frozen and blew out the irrigation system - it was all broken and shattered. Description of Work: Repaired sprinkler system after emergency caused by malfunctioning pressure valve. This involved repairing broken pipes, installing a new pressure valve, and replacing the control box three times. I called Rudy on a weekend because I had massive water leaks and banging pipes which I controlled as best as I could by turning off or disconnecting water and electric lines. Rudy had a workman at my house on Monday morning which I really appreciated because I had to take off from work. I was a new customer and his response was the best of all the people I called. I have had other problems with the system throughout the summer but Rudy and his workmen have always responded promptly and in a very professional manner. The last call was this week when lightning blew out my box which they replaced without charge as it was under warranty. The company has worked with me to fix problems with the sprinkler system for the past three months and I have had had a good experience with them each time. I would recommend them to others and will use them again.

+ -1 moreThe workers were about 30 minutes late, but when they got here, they went right to work and worked all day with few breaks. They cleaned up after themselves, but around 4 it started raining, and by 4:30 they had to quit. Jorge came back the next morning to adjust the sprinkler heads and clean up some of the dirt/gravel. The only bad thing that happened is partially my fault as I didn't check the faucet attached to the house to see if it was left as it was or turned off. They used the hose attached to the faucet to clean up, and instead of leaving the main line on, they turned it off completely. Since it was raining, I didn't check. My cooler is attached to the faucet, and when it didn't work the next day, I thought the pump went out, so I called the cooler people. It turned out the water was turned off. This bit of ignorance cost me a $75 service call.
Description of Work: Rudy sent Diego and Jorge to dig up the old sprinkler valves and install three new ones. They dug under the sidewalk, short wall, and driveway and connected the new system to the existing drip system in the front yard, changed out some of the sprinkler heads, and adjusted everything.

Appt. was for 9 am did not show up until 10:11 with only one phone call at 10:00 to say they were running late. However, once they arrived they completed all work and explained system and different zones in less than 40 minutes. Were quick, efficient and very thorough. Would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Checked out installed sprinkler system (5 zones) and replaced one head and 5 nozzles as well as replacing one section of a side yard drip system. Also explained the system in detail and reset all zones.

+ -1 moreI just moved into a new home and my sprinkler system was set for 10 minutes in each of 6 zones. When I tested the system, only 3 seemed to work. All 3 were for the grass area of the lawn. What appeared not to work were the 3 I assumed were for the garden drip system. I contacted Discount Sprinklers and they sent someone out the next day. The technicians evaluated my system and declared it operational. I, in fact, only have 3 zones, one of which operates only 2 values because it feeds the drip system as well. All my drip system plumbing is in the backyard, so I got an estimate for adding a drip system to the front gardens as well as upgrading my existing combination values to a better system and upgrading the existing backyard drip system. I'm still considering what to do (if anything), but I felt they quoted me a fair price, did not pressure me to do anything, and did not charge for the visit. If I need irrigation work in the future, I will definitely contact Discount Sprinklers again.

Answered all the questions that I had and educated me on how to adjust some of the heads, should they need tweeking in the future. Owner called several days later to check up on how the job went. Have had other companies come out in the past. None did as good a job and at a reasonable price. Did not feel that I was taken advantage of as I have in the past with other companies.

+ -1 moreI have 26 sprinkler heads feed by a well. This spring, many stop working. I called "Just Sprinklers". They were unable to fix the problem and caused more damage than I had before. An electrical line was cut. The sprinklers were watering the neighbors lawn, a major water line blew. They were unable to fix it. I called Discount sprinklers. While it took three weeks to finish all the repairs, they solved all the problems and they saved my trees. One problem was particularly difficult. They had to dig under a side walk and found three water lines. It took two days to figure out what went where. They came every day (only for a few hours) and finally got the system working. I think the glue had to set each day before they could complete the repairs.
Description of Work: Sprinkler system and water feed were broken; 26 sprinkler heads needed to be replaced and the system flushed. Well line had a leak.
