Always the way, the freezer fan stopped making loud sound beforehand, but went ahead with the repair given the hefty labor/trip cost (Dalton treats outskirts of Albuquerque pricing as Santa Fe area). At least it wasn't a surprise - Ladonna's quick diagnosis based on my description, likely cost, and 3 hour window next day, led me to go with them over competitor. Lorenzo had the right part with him, and the replacement took less than 30 minutes. Happy with 1 yr warranty.

They did a great job of coming as scheduled, diagnosing the issue and then coming back to make the repair. VERY professional and it was a great experience. Don't know that I will buy a Whirlpool appliance again but would not hesitate to call Dalton for service

The first time was refrigerator repair. And my husband and I made a mistake in pushing button on the ref, that it cannot make ice again. So we ended up calling them. At the time we were having additional issues in the sink. And the gentleman fixed the two issues in just one call and gave advice on how to prevent those problems in the future.

The problem with the oven was the pilot lights would not stay lit. After coming and going, they said that a new unit would cost $800 + $200 to install. After we had the problem on both ovens, that would have cost almost $2,000 to repair, I called a local appliance repair guy. He replaced both pilots for a total cost of $300! Need I say more?
Description of Work: First, let me say I had two different services performed... a repair of a SubZero refrigerator and later, an attempted repair of a dual oven Wolf range. No complaints whatsoever on the fridge... prompt, efficient, and a job well done... albeit a bit expensive. The other issue was with an older model dual oven commercial range by Wolf.

Great. They disassembled the latch parts, cleaned them, reassembled it, and made sure the problem was solved. They even followed up a few days later, after researching whether new parts might be available should the problem ever recur.

Office/phone person was very professional and offered a prompt repair.Dion was our repair person and he was very professional, timely, friendly, and polite. Since he had to take the dryer apart anyway he offered to vacuum it out while it was open. I've had other repair people in my home and dreaded having this work done. I need not worry anymore. I'll just call Dalton Service to come out and know that the repair person will be a pleasure to have in my home.

No response from Dalton when I have called them asking for updates. No response from Dalton when the manufacturer called them and asked them to call me. No follow up from Dalton. It's apparent that they don't care about customer service.
Description of Work: I had an issue with my refrigerator. The manufacturer referred me to Dalton to complete the service under warranty. I started the process on 01.31.2015. After several calls to Dalton, they still have not responded to the service call. I was promised 5-7 days for the part to come in, then we would schedule a service call. The manufacturer has called Dalton asking them to contact me. Dalton has not responded. I also left a voice message for the service manager (Chris), he failed to call me back.

It went very well. The company called me the day before to remind me of my appointment and also again 30 minutes prior to arrival. The repairman was friendly and went to work right away. He explained the process as he sought to determine the problem. He had the problem resolved within 15 minutes. He was friendly, professional and gave me insight into what to watch for if this should occur again. I asked him questions concerning other appliances I had and he gave me very helpful information. He was friendly.. He could easily have removed the working drain pump and installed another and charged me more, but he was honest and only charged the minimum that had been discussed when I called. If I need an applian repairman, I will definitely call this service again! Excellent!
Description of Work: I thought the dishwasher drain pump was gone. I had priced one at $65.00 online and watched a video on how to do the repair. However, I didn't quite feel right about doing the job myself as there seemed to be more than the pump messing up. The provider came, examined the dishwasher, punched in various codes and determined the pump was okay. However, there was something preventing it from working. He removed the filters and found a chard of glass was preventing it working.

We have a Thermador built-in Microwave oven that stopped working. It had no microwave output and produced a buzzing sound. We called Dalton, who had a A rating with Angie's List, for service. Two service techs came out on time for the appointment and diagnosed problem as a shorted High Voltage system. They replaced the magnitron, capacitor, and diode, and reported it working properly. I paid the charges of $508.68. When my wife came home and attempted to use the oven for the first time that evening, it would not work - again no microwaves and a buzzing sound. I called Dalton back and was told that they would send a tech out the next day. The new tech diagnosed the problem again as a shorted HV system, and said that the first tech should have replaced it the complete HV system including the transformer. He also noted that there was evidence of some minor arcing inside the cavity but that it was not bad, and when he returned with the parts, he would paint over the darkened area. Dalton will order a new HV kit with a new magnetron and transformer. He stated that for this repair, we would only pay for the new transformer and that Dalton would cover the cost of new parts and labor under warranty. After a month of waiting for the repair, my wife called about the delay, this time she was treated rather rudely for asking Mr. Dalton why it was taking so long. The repair was then scheduled for the following Friday. At that time, another pair of techs came out with new parts. When this lead tech opened the microwave cover, he stated that the reason the oven had failed previously was due to arcing inside the waveguide, and that it could not be repaired reliably. He said that the oven should be replaced and suggested a source for a new oven. I have now ordered a new microwave, but we are out $508.68 for the repairs that did not correct the problem. I am quite displeased that we must pay so much for Dalton?s tech?s mistake. With a correct diagnosis, we would have replaced the oven at the outset. Note that we have used Angie?s List recommendations a number of times in the past with good results, and have provided positive ratings (all A?s) for those services.

The receptionist at Dalton was quite courteous and set up an appointment for us. She had us pick a 3 hour time frame on which to schedule an appointment to have a service technician come out to our house. We picked the 11:00 am-2:00pm time frame. Two days later, a service technician named Patrick came a little after 11:00 am. Patrick accessed the situation and explained to us what had happened. In addition, he gave us some extra advice on how to use and properly maintain the dishwasher. As it turned out the sticking detergent receptacle was covered under our one year warranty. Patrick told us that he would have to order the part and that they would call us when it came in. About a week a later, the receptionist called us on a Thursday and set up a second appointment to have Patrick come back and install a new detergent receptacle. We made an appointment for the following Tuesday morning between 11:00am -2:00 pm. On Monday, we received a reminder phone call for our appointment on Tuesday, which we really appreciated that. Patrick showed up the Tuesday around 11:00 am. It took him about 20 minutes to install a new receptacle. After he was finished, he handed us summary of the service he provided and told us that there would be no charge since we were covered under the warranty. Then he was on his way. We really appreciate the following: 1) We were able to make an appointment within a 3 hour window. 2) Everyone we dealt with was quite courteous 3) Our technician (Patrick) was extremely competent! WE WERE THRILLED WITH THE SERVICE WE RECEIVED FROM BOTH MAYTAG AND DALTON SERVICE CTR!!!
Description of Work: We purchased a Maytag dishwasher in the November 2014 which had 1 year warranty. After a couple of months the detergent receptacle started sticking. As time went on we started squeezing the detergent into the receptacle and leaving it open. With out realizing it, we were putting a higher amount of detergent than was necessary. One day after a large family get together, we first manually washed the dishes in regular hand dish soap before placing them in the dishwasher. The residual hand dish soup along with the excess detergent resulted in excess soapy water which overflowed out of the dishwasher and out onto the floor. First we called Maytag and gave them a described the problem to them. They told us to call Dalton Service Ctr. We called Dalton.

Two days before our daughter and family were to arrive from out-of-state our 12 yr old washing machine malfunctioned, not spinning fast enough. We called Miller's Maytag Service first, only to learn that our Maytag was not a genuine Maytag -- it was a Magic Chef Norge or Speed Queen! Upon asking Roger Miller for a recommendation (so close to Christmas) he told us about Dalton Service Center. I was apprehensive about calling Dalton Svc Ctr so close to Christmas but the gal who answered the phone apologized that they couldn't send someone out THAT day but could in two days (12/19). Friday, 12/19 the technician called us 30 minutes out to say he was on his way - he arrived promptly. It didn't take him long to diagnose the issue. The technician said there were two scenarios: 1. Order a part for a hopeful cheap fix, or 2. Learn AFTER the part is installed that it's the transmission that has a problem (which would cost close to the price of a new washer). We appreciated that he was honest and upfront about ordering the part that may not fix the washer. We obviously opted for the easy fix and crossed our fingers. The part had to be ordered and the technician said it "normally took a few days to a week to receive the part, but since it was so close to Christmas he wasn't sure when it would come in. They would call us." Monday, 12/22 we were amazed to learn that the part was in and they were ready to install it the following day. Tuesday 12/23 we were called and the technician informed us he was 30 minutes out. It was one of the Dalton owners who came out and installed the part (I'm guessing it was because of the upcoming holiday!). Unfortunately the part (seals for the transmission) did not fix the washer and we chose not to have an expensive new "tranny" installed. Mr. Dalton was sympathetic. We discussed available options, new vs. used, and asked if he could recommend a store where we could get a good deal. He mentioned Lowe's and Home Depot for new washing machines and then told us of a place "by the Big I" (on Candelaria) called Bob's Appliances. We paid $103.79 total for his service and headed to Bob's, where we bought our new "used" Whirlpool washer with all the bells and whistles I was looking for! We will keep Dalton Service Center's business card in our file for future needs and intend to recommend them to our friends and neighbors.
Description of Work: Quickly diagnosed malfunctioning washing machine, ordered parts after discussing options and installed seals in transmission.

No work done-see above.
Description of Work: I have a 19 year old Jenn-Air range that the oven just started not to work properly. I didn't know whether to try and repair or replace. Lisa at Dalton looked up availability of replacement parts and also talked to to the technician about parts availability. I learned that the temperature probe was available but if this didn't fix it or if other things went wrong in the near future that some key parts were no longer available. I decided to replace not repair. I appreciate their willingness to give me information to help me make this decision even though they did not get income from a service call, other companies weren't willing to look at parts availability prior to a service visit. I would definitely use Dalton in the future for appliance repairs given their honesty and service.

It went pretty well, considering that nothing was too wrong in the first place. Our error, as this was our first front loading machine. They also explained how to properly clean out the unit, which is different than the top loaders we were used to using. Apparently they are the only folks around here who work on old Maytag machines.
Description of Work: We have a front loading washing machine came with the house that we just bought. It was not draining too well, and sounded like there was a lot of water trapped in the drum. They cleaned out the drum's drain holes, and explained that front loading machines (this was our first) have a water ballast, so that the noise was normal.

They did a good job. The first time they came out the repair technician said the water valve was broken and he had some on his truck. So he put one in and it made about eight ice cubes and that was it. So I called them back and they said they would order a new water valve and then would come out to repair it at no additional charge, which they did. The icemaker then worked fine so I would recommend them because they did make good on the repair. They have done other work for me too, in the past.

An appointment was able to be made for a time that met our schedule, within just a couple of days of the initial call. Lorenzo showed up in the time window we were given. He even called and gave us an exact arrival time 20 minutes out. The refrigerator was actually working fine, but the technical explanation he provided about how the refrigerator operated, and what we should expect to see was most helpful. Lorenzo was very knowledgeable, and completed the inspection quickly and neatly.
