I hired Chad's to remove a dying globe willow. They showed up as promised and had the tree removed in a short time and at a very reasonable price. And they even cleaned up all the (previously) fallen branches and twigs -- I was very impressed and would definitely use them again.

This was a difficult and time-consuming job, completed exactly as promised including clean-up. We are repeat customers and will be again for the next outdoor job we feel is too difficult for us to handle!

Punctual, professional, unbelievably skilled (I stood in awe as Jay disappeared into the tree top), and clearly very knowledgeable. The team worked together seamlessly. Everything we had covered in the estimate was done and my property spotless when the crew left. My gigantic (and previously ailing) elm tree burst into life the following spring after the work Jay and his team did on it. They also deftly and quickly removed the dead trees from around the property without my having to pay for the time it normally takes a landscaping crew to haul the trimmed wood away, because they bring their own chipper on site. They were a pleasure to work with, and I could not be happier with the results. They were the 3rd tree co. I've hired to work on my fully forested acre, and they are hands down the best value for the money given the speed and quality of their work. I won't be giving my business to anyone else.

Jay was very conscientious of bringing the limbs down without any damage done to buildings that were in one case only three feet away. Jay works old school aka no bucket truck, it was interesting to watch him climb the trees and bring even the largest limbs down with minimum effort on his ground crew and to lay the "totem pole" (last part of the trunk) where he wanted. (This work was done in Arkansas while visiting his family but Chad's is located in Albuquerque where it is an established business of 5 plus years.) I would highly recommend Chad's Tree and Shrub to anyone needing any type of tree work done.

Nice job. Completed when promised and for the price outlined in the free estimate, which we thought was competitive. We love our older large trees, and they look much healthier now.

Jay and his crew were very professional and did an excellent job of cleaning up. All the plants that were pruned look great. They all have shape again. Jay who did the estimate was also on the job, so items discussed that were not explicitly on the estimate were done. This was a nice change from services that use an estimator that doesn't come to the job site when the service is performed. I will use this company again.

They did a great job. Professional, safe, efficient. And complete cleanup afterwards. I would definitely use them again.

Chad came out and gave us an estimate as scheduled. He gave a written estimate and we scheduled a date and time for him to do the work. He arrived on time and began work as planned. He did everything he had listed out on the estimate and checked with us to make sure we were happy with how things were going. Our trees hung over the fence into our neighbor's yard and Chad went over and talked to the neighbor to let him know we were opening up the trees around the power lines. The neighbor asked him to cut down the limbs hanging over the fence in his yard. Chad contacted us and told us what the neighbor said and we agreed to have the limbs cut down. He did not charge us extra for doing this. It did take him longer to complete the work but everything was clean and neat just as he promised. Do not hesitate to use Chad's service, he does great work and you will not be disappointed.

I've used Chad's Tree for the last several years and have previously been a fan of the company. In the past, I recommended Chad's to many of my work associates, friends and neighbors since they previously trimmed various types of trees very well. Unfortunately, due to their recent very poor business and customer service practices, I can no longer recommend them. After their recent follies, I highly encourage potential customers to seek out other tree service companies in Albuquerque! Chad, Jay and crew trimmed my short junipers, neighbor's overhanging branches, and cut out some swatches on my tall junipers. At that point, Chad informed me that they would not be able to finish job that day since they left their long tree trimmers at another job site. He committed to show up the following Saturday to complete the shaping of my tall junipers. Unfortunately, Chad never showed that Saturday to complete the job, nor did he call to reschedule. Further, after more than 2 months and after numerous, numerous attempts on my part to get them back to finish the job, I've heard only excuses from the VP of the company (Jay) for why Chad's Tree has not completed my job. Jay's excuses for not completing have included: sick crew member(s), someone being on vacation to Lake Powell, broken equipment, forgetting to put me on the schedule, moving a hawk's nest, being told that they have higher priority jobs to complete, etc.. All this while Chad's Tree has taken on and completed more recent jobs. And all this while Jay and Chad have fully admitted that they still owed me a completion of the job that they started for me back in April. At this point, Chad's Tree no longer answers or returns my phone calls. Bottom Line: Chad's has been paid-in-full for a job that, apparently, they refuse to complete. I am left with partially-trimmed junipers with noticeable trim outs on them. Those partially-trimmed junipers look pretty bad. Don't let this happen to you. Find another Albuquerque tree service!

Had an appointment to trim 34 polar trees surrounding our property. Never showed up, didn’t answer my calls or my texts. Was dealing with Jay. Don’t waste your time or money with this company.

Showed up on time (team of three) and did an exceptional job pruning, trimming, and cleaning up afterward. Finished in a timely manner. They were courteous and professional. I would highly recommend them.

They were on time got right to work. Very pleasant workers. If you need your trees done look no further. My trees have never been cut so there was a lot of work to be done. Very reasonable for what they did. Will definitely use them again or recommend them to friends and family

Last July, we called Chad's Trees and they came out and gave us an estimate for the removal of two cottonwood tress. It seemed a fair estimate. We scheduled for August 9th. A couple of days before that date, we got a phone message that they had been one of the companies hired for storm damage clean up at the Albuquerque Country Club, and asked us if we could reschedule. We called them and left messages three different times, even including a request for a specific day. We still have not heard from them. While the man who did the estimate was very professional, this behavior is highly unprofessional, and downright irresponsible.

Great service!! Prompt response to inquiry and estimate promptly given by co-owner. They were on time for work, both days, as contracted. All of the team were knowledgeable, friendly, hard working! Owners worked as hard as the two employees. We have an acre with 5 deciduous trees/fruit trees and over 20 VERY mature pine trees. Our trees had not had proper care for 10yrs. Chads Trees gave a fair estimate and the estimate is what we paid. They did all they promised and more. It was a hot, messy, buggy job for all of them but they never flinched. They went deep under the low branches as well as up high to get the very tall overgrown pines properly cared for. They got the branches out of the wires and off our house line. They cleared all of the debris and there was A LOT of it!! Brought onsite was a huge commercial chipper and truck to haul the waste away . In the past my husband and I had tried to take away the unwanted limbs but they were too large and too many of them to keep up with it all over the years. Chads did it all. This team left our acre looking better than it had looked for years. They cleared the acre whether or not it was “their mess”. For this we are deeply grateful. Chads Trees and Shrub Service is fair priced (we had other estimates), hard working, prompt, friendly and VERY knowledgeable! They were respectful of what we wanted and took great care that all was done as promised plus more. We will use Chads to trim our shrubs very soon.

A team of pleasant, respectful men worked on three large trees (40+years old) - trimming and removing dead wood from two and removing overhanging branches ( to prevent roof damage) on a the third tree. They were careful to preserve the natural shape and appearance of the trees but were very thorough. Also, they left our yard free of any kind of debris from the job. Because they were up so high at times, I found it very reassuring that they wore safety harnesses and appeared to move thoughtfully and carefully. It was a big job. We were pleased with the results.

Very bad. Price came out almost 50% higher than estimate; a professional should have been more definative with needs of job re: equipment rather than making that determination after job start. Damaged property and did NOT repair damaged property back to original state and the and quot;repairand quot; was poorly done--leveled gate now cemented-in crooked. It is clear they didn't use a level and set the post properly. The post is OBVIOUSLY not leveled horizontally and the gate does not stay open as before. They broke paver tiles and didn't reimburse me for already-owned replacement material. Ruined hoses; no reimbursement. I kept getting and quot;put offand quot; for property repairs to be done, finaly hearing back from Chad after and quot;phone chasingand quot; him. They cut ornamental shrubs not part of requested trimming prior to my knowledge; should have at least asked me first, as I was home when the work was performed. They left a great deal of dead wood untrimmed. There was so much left untrimmed that I am perhaps worse off, considering the ruined gate. I explained to Chad up-front that the completeness of the job was important; due to medical reasons, yard clean up of dead branches and twigs is very difficult for me. (Although one cannot really control plant debris from others' yards next door, it was important to effectively reduce my own trees' debris as it was a great problem.) When the work was finished, I questioned branches left intact and was told they were living. A VERY LARGE completely dead branch from one of these two trees fell into the yard just a few months after job completion, illustrating that obvious dead wood was not trimmed. (It appeared the dead branch fell from a location on the tree that it could have been trimmed.) I had to hire someone to remove the huge branch. (Considering the poor repair work, I chose not to have Chad's return to remove this branch.) I still have dead branches at all levels, although none I can reach myself for trimming. I continue to have to clean up a lot of debris from these trees after windy weather, which is frequent. The purpose of having this service performed was not realized. For this reason, I don't feel they fulfilled the contract. As the professionals, I don't think they performed informed service; it appears they couldn't differentiate between dead and living branches. I was very courteous to them, gladly providing the crew with a lot of bottled Gatorade during and after the work, as it was hot weather. I hired Chad's in 2011 prior to becoming an Angie's List member. I regret hiring them and would not want them to return.

Chad and crew showed up exactly on schedule and promptly got to work. Chad and crew did an exceptional job in trimming trees and bushes and in removal of another tree. Very importantly, Chad and crew do NOT top trees, they prune trees appropriately! Chad and crew also provide exceptional clean up after trimming and cutting. This is the my second year of using Chad's Tree service after many years of using another local tree service. I've been very pleased with the change from the other firm to Chad's!

He did a beautiful job, they were very friendly and they all worked very hard.

This was the second time I used his company. I called for an estimate. He returned my call quickly, and sceduled the affordable work about two weeks later. I can always trust him and his crew. They arrived on time and started to work right away. They started in the front removing the junipers, shredding them then took down the tall pine. They proceeded to prune our piand ntilde;on and fruits trees on the side of our yard. Interestingly he found two items in the junipers.they cleaned all that up and went to our backyard. He pruned my rose bush and four lilacs. He is helping me save our sad cherry tree and judiciously removing the dead branches. He gathered everything and included a few items I needed hauled away. He cleaned all the sidewalks and kept my escape artist dog safe in the yard. As usual, having his expertise in trees,etc. I felt comfortable with him. He is pleasant, easy to talk to and kind. I highly recommend him.

I was very impressed, they arrived exactly on time and got to work. I had to leave to go to work also but when I returned home they were already finished and they did a superb job. They did everything that we talked about and cleaned up the area so well that you would be amazed. I will certainly use them again!

disappointing no show from Chad two times.

I was amazed at how quickly ten mature Italian Cypress trees could come down. Chad did the cutting himself and cut them so they would not fall on any structures. His two assistants did the clean up including running everything into a large chipper. Everyone was polite and professional. This was the best experience I have had with a service of any kind.
