We had a leak under the slab of our house. John and Steve came out at the time promised, jackhammered up a 2x2 foot hole in the slab at the location the leak locators indicated, dug down 3 feet through gravel and cobbles, and found and repaired the leak. They then left it 24 hours to make sure there were no other leaks, filled in the hole, and patched the concrete. They used dust mitigation techniques the whole time, covering everything with plastic sheeting, and using a vacuum to suck up dust when sawing and jackhammering. They put a tarp down, and put the material from the hole on the tarp. The area they worked in was as clean when they left as before they started. They were very friendly and professional, came at agreed upon times, and charged the quoted price. I will definitely call Certified next time I need plumbing work.
Description of Work: Fixed 2 leaks in the under-slab copper hot water pipe under our house.

Before I left Carrillo with a key to my house as it was under renovation, he told me he "was all over the house on this job, and would certainly hook up the refrigerator, the stove, the dishwasher, and see the bathrooms were in working order. " At the time of purchase, as the water had been turned off, nobody knew the status of things. A week after I returned with my entire family in a car, having driven everyone from WA state, and having NO WORD from my plumber, I finally called an other plumber to check out the water in the driveway near the clean out valve.....what did he find? A broken off cap, a cracked sewer clean out line, and a clog along with some stones. ...RIGHT next to the garden faucet repaired by Certified Plumbing. I am pretty sure this sounds like the angry owner who was mad at losing the place. I am sure the crew member of Certified Plumbing who fixed the little faucet , RIGHT there, saw the water piling up, and found the broken line....and never said a word to me....among a few other things..... The plumber I hired to finish this job found the sewer lines leaving the laundry were installed with a reverse flow angle, the drain out the kitchen sink was corroded through and the vent was not up to code....and there was no water line for the ice maker, nor for the swamp cooler. Also, the legs were rusted out, besides the bearings shot, which Is why Carrillo ran quickly in the opposite direction. After TELLING me he would do these things, and taking my money, before I left, paying him up front, in good faith. My sewer might have backed up into the house I where I had just spent thousands laying tile and weeks of my own effort fixing and repainting everything. I had a spouse recovering from travel after a colon resection....only able to lay still and heal....with no kitchen sink, no cool air, no ice but that we ran out to buy, and a near miss flooding the place with sewer back up. I am NOT accusing Certified plumbing of causing any of the damage. There were all kinds of holes in walls and damages done by a clearly angry , former owner. BUT I am appalled they left us in a lurch after taking around $800 in earlier fees for no plumbing work performed, and $3,000 for an unfinished job. Shame on me for hiring them back. PITY on you if you ever give them a minute of your time. Give Certified Plumbing a pass, and find some one with some courage and integrity. They have skills, but NO professional commitment. SLIME!
Description of Work: Certified Plumbing was glad to take hundreds of dollars in consulting fees for walking around a place, talking to permit people, and finding out the scope of a job, while I was still finding the right house to purchase. BUT When i hired him back to actually do some work, he absndoned the project, without a word, after performing the very minimum he was hired to do. I hired them to fix whatever was needed in and around this house i just bought...a foreclosure. ....which was found to have been not only neglected, but vandalized. I left them pre-paid, with a key, and my telephone number, after I bought the place, worked on it a few weeks , and had to leave to pick up and deliver my family to this new home. My spouse was recently out of emergency surgery, and he knew this. The gas lines were buried, replaced per code, passed on the First inspection, and the gas service was FINALLY turned on. The hot water tank was installed, the gas stove safely hooked up. One broken spigot was repaired by the clean out valve by the main bathroom, and outside. But that was ALL.... Apparently, he found all kinds of issues he just plain did not want to deal with..... so he bagged out. ...! Left! Abandoned the contract! I was wondering what the shifty look was when I gave him some money. I was try ing to pay him in full, but he would not take it! Here is my first hint: When the swamp cooler was found to be in bad shape, the worker guy actually whined to me, I told him to talk to his boss, who wrote in fixing the cooler into the contract. Dave carrillo never called me, he never asked how we might come to an agreement. HE SIMPLY LEFT THE JOB, with payment , and WITHOUT A WORD. WHAT THEY DID NOT DO is the subject of this review.

Response from Certified Plumbing, Heating & Cooling LLC
In response to her statement, we were hired to replace the gas line and do a Mercury test with Permits and Inspections for the mortgage company. At that time there was no water, gas or electricity to the home therefore there was no way of knowing about any other issues that may have occurred after the fact and I informed her that once the utilities were connected we would then address other issues. As she stated, the job was complete and there is no complaint. I would like the balance owed which is $852.00.

I received an emergency call from home that the sewer was overflowing. I rushed home and called Certified Plumbing based on a reference from a friend. They had someone out within about 4 hours. I was ok with this since the level had stopped rising and had actually gone down in the tubs. A city employee had already come to make sure the public sewer line was not causing the issue and had determined for me that the main sewer line coming from my house was clogged and that it probably needed to be snaked. The Certified PHC folks went straight to the pipe outside and opened it up, and immediately knew that the problem was in the Back flow preventer in front of my house. They were very knowledgeable, and I would like to recognize that. They attempted to remove the cover, which broke in the process because the screws had apparently rusted but they said that shouldn't be a problem and when they left they piled rocks on it to hold it in place. Then they found the issue, which was a malfunctioning one-way valve coming out of my house (rubber flap). They cleared the clog, wrote down the info on the flap and said they would be back probably the next day to finish the job as long as they could find the part. If they couldn't find the part they said they would have their boss contact me to give me an bid to replace the Back flow preventer with their own model. They did a good job while they were there, but after that everything went down hill. I waited a total of 3 weeks hoping they just needed time to find the part, but never heard back from them. I called the company again, and told the guy that his guys never finished the job. He said he had my number, he remembered the job, and he would look into it and get back to me. That was a week ago. It has now been exactly a month and the job is still not finished, and all I have is a disassembled back flow preventer with a broken cover, and a house vulnerable to sewage backup (I live at the bottom of a hill so the preventer is supposed to help prevent other people's sewage from backing up into our house if there's a sewer issue). I'll be hiring a different company to come finish the job. I can't put price down because they also never sent me a bill, it's like they just completely forgot about me.
Description of Work: The sewer in my house had backed up and was overflowing into tubs, from toilet etc. The main sewer line going out from the house had gotten clogged, so I called Certified Plumbing to come out and get it running again.

I apologize this review was somehow missed. I would love to make this right and go back and install the backflow preventer free of charge if it has not already been done? At that time, this part was not available and not to make excuses it got forgotten and I also did not bill her as well. Please let me know what I can do to make this right with the client. Thank you
