+ -1 moreWe would not use a business that cannot answer requests for quotes. If the business is too busy a the voicemail should be answered and the reason be given.
Description of Work: Mr. Matos didn't return our voicemail requesting an estimate for a fence to be built in the backyard.

+ 1 moreThe whole project went great. Carlos is smart about construction, and a natural at the nuances of strange angles and spaces. He works quickly and without the need to sketch out the project. He easily sees what needs to happen and remembers dimensions without a lot of time spent pondering. Overall, I was very impressed watching him work, and of course with the finished project. I might add that initially I thought we could make the overall opening smaller. He listened to my idea, and was even willing to give it a test try. He went to the trouble of digging a hole for a closer post and setting it up, then tried driving his truck through, it was way too tight and we ended up staying with the original opening. I truly appreciated his open minded approach, even though he knew it would be to small, he was willing...without any sign of arrogance or attitude, to give me the opportunity to see for myself. He ended up making new double gates that are secure and easy to use. I am very pleased with his workmanship and his very reasonable prices.
Description of Work: After having Carlos do some work in my home, I asked him about repairing/rebuilding a large driveway gate that has never opened since buying the home. We worked out a date that he could spend the whole day on it. I wanted to be there with him to help a little, and also because the whole situation required quite a lot of creativity. I thought creativity, but with Carlos's expertise and knowledge , it was easy for him to devise the perfect working gate. The gate is functioning well, and is also pleasing to look at. I am very happy with the whole experience. It was very pleasant being a "helper" and watching the process, Carlos was easy going and did not seem at all bothered by my presence and questions. His prices are more than fair, I will call him again for all handyman needs.

+ 1 moreI had called numuerous handymen before deciding on Carlos Mata. He answered the phone, I described that I needed two ceiling fans with light sets installed. He was busy during the week but was willing to come on a Sunday morning to do the job. The weather was getting hot by then and I really appreciated his willingness to come as soon as possible. He showed up exactly on time, he was cheerful and comfortable doing the work on the high ceilings. His price was very fair, and much more reasonable than other handymen I called.I have been very happy with the work he did, both fan sets are working perfectly with no wobble.
Description of Work: Carlos installed two ceiling fans, this involved taking down the old existing fixtures. He showed up on time, was polite and easy to relate to. He worked quickly and confidently, and cleaned up the bit of mess that was made. The fans/with lights were balanced perfectly with no wobble.

+ 1 moreAll work done efficiently, timely, professionally. Comes with his own tools. He arrived on time, executed exactly what he said he would, listened to all our concerns, and wanted to be sure we were perfectly happy with everything. He was extremely pleasant to have around, and very professional.
Description of Work: Carlos repaired a fence that follows a small irrigation canal in our garden. The major supporting posts had rotted from water exposure. He picked up all necessary materials in advance. He then removed the posts, put new ones in concrete, and replaced and realigned the damaged fence board, also added a new section, with a small door/gate. He also built an entirely new, double fence for our neighbor. Cleaned up completely, without any damage to anything in the garden. Price was extremely reasonable. By the hour or by the job.
