Barbara arrived promptly on time, prepared and equipped to do the requested tasks. The trumpet vine was greatly overgrown and had overtaken a rose bush and crowded into a small peach tree. The trumpet had also climbed onto adjacent railroad ties that shored up the area, which was adjacent to a high concrete block wall. This was a major task! She pruned the jungle-sized vine (which had overgrown the wall) down to a basic and manageable shape, and removed the sucker vines from the ties. She freed up the rose vine and secured it to the wall, and cleared the vine away from the oeach tree. She worked steadily and carefully, with amazing results! Once the trumpet was under control, Barbara moved on to prune the dead inner branches of the photinia, a huge shrub alongside the garage, which had been seriously neglected, though still healthy. This task also took patience and skill, with great improvement in the appearance of the shrub. She carefully wrapped the mass of cuttings in tarps for easy removal. Ms. Russell spent the whole work day on these tasks, stopping to consult me as needed, and taking only a short break for lunch. She also discussed future tasks that might be needed, and sent me an estimate for those a few days later. I will certainly call on her for extensive pruning work in the early spring. She is very pleasant to work with and really knows her trade! If Angie had an A+ grade, I would opt for that for Barbara Russell, certified arborist!

Barbara Russell spent two hours checking out the many trees on my property. She told me which trees had a fungus infestation (but that it was not a problem) and which insects to look out for and what evidence to check. She told me what was stressing the trees, and which ones needed to be pruned, and how much and when. She gave me a list of tree pruning services and cleanup services that she recommended. She gave me handouts for further information. She recommended removal of a couple of trees and retention of one that I had considered removing. Altogether useful information.
