B Carlson Heating Air Conditioning & Plumbing

My HVAC system went out so I called 4 different companies to get estimates, all from Angies List. When the "Comfort Specialist" Mario from B Carlson came he was only here for maybe 5 minutes at the most, he looked at my current system got my email address and said he would send me a quote. He seemed to be in a big hurry. He did not discuss options, brands nothing and to top it off, I never received a quote from him. Since I first posted my review B Carlson did call me to get the details, they asked if there was anything they could do to help with my situation, by this time I had already had my system replaced by another company. They were very apologetic and did say customer service was their top priority and would look into the situation. They called me back again and did verify that they had talked to Mario and that he did indeed drop the ball on my quote, they assured me they strive for the best In customer service and again were very apologetic. I commend them for their professionalism in contacting me and getting to the bottom of the issue, that shows me that they are a good company. I have adjusted my rating on them and commend the young lady that called me she was very nice and professional.

The engineer was out here and installed it and I had a good impression of him. They really did a neat job. He explained to me how it works and how to maintain it and he offered that he can maintain for me. But I did my own maintenance. They showed up exactly when they said they would.

He's just been very respectful with being in my house, very professional, and it's comfortable with this guy. He came on time, and he gave me the information I needed.

Edgar check out my Reznor furnace after two others had worked on it. He was able to get it running so it would continue working after two other companies tried and failed.

It went fine. It took about a day to complete. They were prompt. They cleaned up after themselves.

I have been using B. Carlson for a few years....have gotten a new furnace, converted to refrigerated a/c, gotten a water softener system and whole house humidification system, have had a broken underground pipe repaired, and today had a new water heater installed. I have had nothing but excellent work and customer service since day one. Today, Paula, my favorite office employee, and Dave and Josh (installers) once again provided great service! B. Carlson may not be the cheapest, but for me, having had too many bad experiences with contractors and such, the service, reliability and professionalism they provide is worth possibly paying a little more. I highly recommend them, and I have done so for friends any chance I get. You will not be disappointed. They also clean up after themselves and work neatly so that the finished work is visually appealing, despite pipes and wiring. If I could rate them A+, I would!!

They sent the junior plumber first. He did a few things and told us that we needed to have a part replaced that would cost about $350. He also said that the senior plumber would have to come in a separate appt to bleed the lines of air. He charged about $80 for that visit. The senior plumber came 2 days later and told us that the junior plumber had been wrong and that the lines didn't need to be bled of air. He did nothing and we were not charged. My husband found the part for which they were going to charge $350 for $40 at Home Depot. After all this, we knew that there was still a problem with air in the lines. We called another plumber, who found multiple problems with the boiler that had been missed by the B Carlson plumbers. This plumber fixed all the problems, got the air out of the lines, replaced the broken parts, and the whole service which took several hours cost less than the $350 quote for a part from Carlson. The bottom line is that Carlson charged us, wasted our time for 2 visits, and we still had to get a different plumber in to fix all the problems that the Carlson plumbers either were incapable of finding or just didn't want to bother with.

Carlson's technician showed up right on time in the morning, and ascended the roof to service a package heat and refrigerated-air unit. The technician worked safely, kept us informed on exactly what he was doing, and entered the house only to check temperature once he was finished. The technician washed out the filters, returned them to the unit, and restored the unit to operating condition as soon as he was done.

The Carlson crew was very professional and conscientious. Over a period of three days, they did exactly what was described to us at the time when we signed a contract and within the timeline that was proposed. We dealt primarily with Josh who was very friendly and responsive. The other technicians (electricians and plumbers) were also very dedicated professionals. The sales rep, Jeremy, was our initial contact person, and he explained the options and equipment thoroughly and answered all our questions. He gave us a very good impression from the very beginning.

Did all the work they said they would.

I have always liked them and they have done a good job. I am sure their prices are reasonable. Once they installed it, I wouldn’t have to call them. I found them to meet my needs at a price I think is reasonable. Every time that they have come from the beginning, their technicians are really great about telling me what they are doing. The last time, the heating didn’t go on and where it ignites needed to be cleaned off. He even told me that I could do that. There is a safety mechanism that doesn’t allow it to go on. There was nothing wrong with it but it just needs some cleaning. They tell things that are very specific about what they are looking for or doing and how I can participate in that if I wanted to. They are very punctual. They are very professional. They wear their uniforms and they are very courteous. They speak well like they are educated.

B Carlson was not lowest bidder or highest. But the term best value I will use here. I have not tested my refrig air yet as the weather is not hot yet. But i am confident this will be fine, and if not they will rectify any issues. I give them HIGH marks for everything. Estimate was spot on and there were no surprises. Install went exactly as they projected. They had staff ready to go for the install of the new equipment and removal of my swamp cooler and cleanup. All staff were very professional and courteous. They had PNM approval and electric load testing done, and then city inspections scheduled, all went well. And I had them do air duct cleaning also, I feel this was well done too. I also decided to add on an extended warranty and service plan after reviewing this option. Here is where they exceeded my expectations. I had a noisy air duct. I thought it might be related to their install. They came out, looked at it, and showed us it was a preexisting problem. But they made a repair on it at no cost to me - - this really impressed me. Since I have lived in albuquerque for the last 15 years, I rarely see this kind of customer service, it was impressive. I could have gone with a lower price, but again I use the term best value for my experience with B Carlson so far in my experience with them.

I chose which unit I wanted, an installation date was set. All went extremely well, on time and at the predetermined cost. I had also gotten estimates from two other providers. I thought B Carlson was head and shoulders above the others in giving me details. It is a major investment and I did not want to over buy or under buy. I have now had the heating/cooling unit for 4 months and it has performed beautifully in all weather. The improvement over what I had is wonderful. I highly recommend them!!!!

I had a conflict during my scheduled window and without any hassle they shifted by service time for later in the day. The specialist who came out was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and explained things well and he didn't try to push me to buy high cost items. He fixed an issue I had with my filter floating while he was here.

They sent the dream team and all work was completed in two days. Very clean and nice. Follow up visits were greatly appreciated as well as phone calls.

All employees of Carlson were polite, professional and thorough. They did an excellent job in less time than I thought possible.

Job went well on installing the refridgerated air, great customer service and got an education out of it by learning what to ask for when seeking bids to do the job. Only problem had was duct work after job was done (which was not this companies fault), the duct work (flexduct) came undone in one area of the home. They were prompt for the service to look at why the unit was not having good airflow all of a sudden. Only problem after that was the time delay of getting them to come back out with a video camera over two week wait, to check the duct work. Then from there some other minor issues, then a delay of looked like to be 3 weeks to repair the duct work, was fortunate that they had a cancellation to come house sooner. I would still refer them to other people, again duct work issue was not the company fault

B. Carlson installed a new furnace/refrigerated air conditioning system last August, and it was some of the best money I've ever spent. I love my new system (good-by swamp cooler!); all of the personnel at B. Carlson are knowledgeable, professional, thorough, considerate. and they do not leave a mess to clean up! I also purchased their Preferred Service Agreement which gives 2 full-service inspections/filter cleanings/thermostat calibrations, among other benefits, and it has been well worth it; I'll be renewing that contract again before next month. I highly recommend B. Carlson for any heating and air conditioning needs you may have!

Repaired and serviced my furnace and central air.

I have used them for a number of years. I've had regular contracts with them.

We've used the plumbing, heating and air conditioning service at B. Carlson Heating Air Conditioning & Plumbing several times. Our experiences with them have been very good. They really seem to be knowledgeable and diagnose and fix problems very quickly. They're timely and punctual. Our heat went out in the middle of winter and they got it fixed in a day or two. The plumbing work they did for us was also good.

Probably the most professional and informative presentation I've ever seen from a service provider. Jeremy was obviously very knowledgeable, and was completely interested in designing the appropriate system for our needs--not just the one that cost the most. Their figures came in a little higher than their competitors, but I am convinced that they are the better choice for the job. I just have to save a little longer so I can afford the best.

Excellent! Mike came out and did a terrific job installing the water heater. Paula at their office was very helpful in setting up the County Inspector's visit. I would recommend this company to my neighbors.

We engaged B. Carlson a couple of years ago to install a new high-efficiency furnace solely because it was the nearest vendor of the furnace we wanted. We were very pleased with the entire experience. Recently, we chose them to add central air-conditioning, which was installed this week. We did that based on our prior experience with them, not based upon the lines they install. While - based solely upon reading other reviews - the company may be more expensive than others, the adage that "you get what you pay for" seems to us to apply. Too, it seemed clear to us that while many available units are comparable in quality, what really counts is quality of installation and service. If our job cost $1,000+/- more than someone else might have bid, that doesn't really matter in the long run, as we are very confident in the quality of work done and the follow up service that will be provided if need be. We were very pleased with the punctuality, professionalism, friendliness, and care of our installation crew and the gentlemen who bid the job (and returned while it was underway to make sure everything was going according to plan, even though our home is some 50 miles from the company's offices). This is an excellent company we would readily recommend to others. They appear to take great pride in their work, communicate openly and clearly with their customers, and practice "no impact" performance in terms of carefully protecting the areas of one's home in which they are working and being very careful to leave an impeccably clean job site. So - kudos to them. While we didn't interface that much with the crane and electrical crews to whom they subcontracted portions of the work, all indications were that they, too, were of the same high calibre. P.S. We also have had annual servicing on our furnace, and have been very satisfied with that work as well. P.P.S. During the job, they had to fend off our 18-month and 4-month labs - no small feat in itself - which they did with charm and grace, both being dog owners/lovers themselves.
