Description of Work: I called Atlas because my septic tank was overflowing. At first, I just thought it needed to be pumped, but it was quickly discovered that the pump was out as well. They got someone out immediately to replace the pump, so I didn't need to have the septic tank pumped again, as would have been the case if they had delayed sending out a mechanic.

+ -1 moreI have done business with them for several years now. They seem to be responsive and reasonably priced. In term of price, it is comfortable. I am sure I will use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: I used the services of Atlas Pumping for septic tank pumping. The last time I used their services was two years ago. The pumping itself was a $100. We had a line blockage and that was another $100. Therefore, the price was $200.

+ -1 moreArrived 15 minutes prior to start of appt time! Employee was polite and knowledgeable. When I told him about the challenge of digging through 12 inches of NM clay to get to the lid he suggested an additional riser that would put the lid at nearly grass level. The price seemed very reasonable and I agreed to the additional work. A different crew came out later in the day and did the work quickly and neatly. Just an excellant experience.

+ -1 moreI was extremely pleased with the service from everyone that I dealt with at Atlas, and will use them again.
Description of Work: I had not had my septic tank serviced since I bought my house and had no idea where it was. There was no visible cover. I called up Atlas and they gave me a local government environmental agency to call where they would have a copy of the original permit. The agency faxed me a drawing of where the tank was to be installed. I dug and dug in the general area but couldn't find it. I made an appointment for tank service from Atlas as Gigi said that they have a location device that will find it if I can't. Ruben came by exactly on time at 8AM. He explained in detail and drew (using a stick and dirt) the workings of a septic system. He tried to find the tank using the electronic locater, but it was not getting a signal. He then visually located a vertical PVC pipe hidden among thick high shrubs He said that the PVC pip has got to be a marker. Ruben used pruning shears to cut away the shrubs, and then dug about 4 feet down until he got to the tank. He pumped it for a long time and said that he would keep working it until it was completely empty. He told me about the option of putting in a riser in so that the next maintenance would not require searching and digging. I agreed to the riser installation. When Ruben made up the bill, he didn't charge for the locater device usage (would have been an extra $80) as he said that it didn't help him find the tank. I also purchased a gallon of CCLS additive (included in the $450) which he said was better than RID-X. An hour after Ruben left, two other guys from Atlas came to install the riser. They were done within an hour. The cover is made out of concrete with a metal handle and weighs almost 100 pounds. They said that they make the cover so hefty to keep small kids from lifting the lid.

+ -1 moreWe didn't pay for the inspection because the owners of the house from whom we were buying paid for it. They seemed pretty thorough and the person who came did a pretty good job of explaining the septic system to me. We have never had a septic system before. We only interacted with them once and the guy who came out seemed friendly and knowledgeable.
Description of Work: I used the service of Atlas Pumping in April to inspect the septic system of the house we were going to buy.

+ 0 moreI had called in the morning for quote and possible appointment. I was told they could have someone out that day at 1pm. I had several errands and rushed to make it back home by 1pm. I called at 1:20pm and was assured he was on his way. 10 minutes later, Larry called. He was a bit confused with the directions...........My frustration was that I had given very specific directions - many people have made the wrong turn! A call at 1pm to advise he was running a bit behind would have been appreciated. Other than the small timing challenge, we would use them again and Larry was so very knowledgeable about septic tanks and their upkeep. He was very quick from start to finish as well!
Description of Work: I called for an estimate and possible time to schedule; We were quoted $225 and we purchased their monthly additive product for a healthy septic tank. Larry was very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and helpful. He drained and cleaned the septic and explained every step along the way.

+ -1 moreLarry was very professional, and was happy to allow me to watch (just to learn more about the system, and to personally see what was 'down there.'). The entire process took less than an hour for our 1250 gal. system, and was very informational. I learned about the tank, how the system operates, and the dangers of not keeping it inspected and cleaned. We were also told that our system was in excellent shape, maybe because of regular 'preventative maintenance.' We also ordered CCLS for the system, and Larry instructed me in its use. Overall, a great experience, and we will always use Atlas for their professionalism and great service. There may be cheaper services, but this is one area where we don't want to cheap-out.
Description of Work: We had our annual septic service (cleraning/inspection) performed again by Atlas Pumping, after a reminder call from them. Scheduling was 'same day' and Larry arrived within the hour.

+ -1 moreWe had set up a window between the hours of 10AM-1PM,so that I could be here when the serviceman arrived. He arrived at 2:30PM. It was luck that my wife had left work early that day and she was home. She stated the gentleman was very,very courteous and performed his job in a professional manner. He completed the job in about 30 min.
Description of Work: The gentleman removed our septic tank lid and pumped out and washed out the interior with the garden hose. He then replaced the lid and covered it with dirt.

Atlas sent out an expert to evaluate our septic system, along with a truck that could snake the line between the tank and the leach field if necessary/possible. Andy evaluated the system and explained to me in detail what he thought had happened to the system based on what it was doing after they pumped the tank (the system is old and he thought biomass had filled the leach field). He also responded professionally and patiently to my questions about possible options to fix the system (found on the internet) instead of installing a new leach field. I feel like I understand what's necessary to understand now. He looked at the property for possible places for a new leach field and recommended a company to install a new one. I am VERY satisfied with the service I received.

+ -1 moreI called Thursday afternoon. The truck, with Larry, showed up on Friday as promised. He actually arrived about 10 minutes before my 1-3 pm time frame. Larry pumped the tank and gave me pointers about keeping septic tanks serviceable. It took about 40 minutes, including time to open the tank and do the final paperwork. Larry was very polite and seemed to know what he was doing. I've used Atlas before and I've been very satisfied both times.

+ -1 moreThey arrived within the prescribed time frame, went to work immediately and did everything as promised. The job was done in under 30 minutes! I was told no problems were found, all levels were normal and our leach/drainfield is in great shape. The two male employees, AJ and Larry, were very courteous, conscientious about our property and its landscaping and helped answer some general questions I had.
Description of Work: They originally installed the septic system of our new home in the spring of 2007. We were not having any issues but after 2 years of use we decided to have the system pumped (from a maintenance perspective) to prevent trouble. Had them pump our septic system, flush the filter and check for problems.

+ -1 moreContacted company on Monday, they came out on Wednesday. Company called when they were on the way to the house. Appointment was for between 11:00 and 1:00, they called and arrived by 10:30. Both employees introduced themselves, i showed them where the spetice tank was, they drained it, gave it a visual inspection, and then capped it. I paid by check, entire operation was completed in less than 30 minutes. they asked if I wanted to be placed on the their reminder list, and offered to sell me a septic tank cleaner. I agreeed to the former and declined the latter.

+ -1 moreKeith Collums of Atlas Pumping [who signed the inspection report] pumped and inspected our tank. Unfortunately, since we did not make the appointment, we were unable to be present when the inspection took place. When we received the report we were dismayed because it said our tank had failed to pass inspection. Our tank had PASSED inspection only 10 months previous when we bought the house. Upon further inspection of the "Wastewater System Evaluation and Inspection Form" that is required by the inspector to fill out, we noticed fields that were left blank as well as absolutely no comments on his assessment that the Septic Tank was not acceptable. So we had no clue why the tank had failed. When we called Keith the day after the inspection he didn't seem to have any recollection as to why he had given the Tank/System a failure rating. He took our phone number and said he'd get back to us but he never bothered to call back. We will file a dispute with the BBB for tank inspection fee's.
Description of Work: Atlas was contacted by our buyers representative to pump and inspect our septic tank prior to the transfer of ownership as required by New Mexico Law.
