Albuquerque Plumbing, Heating and Cooling sends you a salesman who knows very little about the products you need installed and who gives you a very low estimate. Once they think you are hooked, they begin to add on to the estimate until (in our case) it exceeds three times the original estimate. Naturally we backed out, but this tactic cost us lots of time and aggravation. Apparently, this is standard practice for them. We recommend you go to an independent contractor where the person giving you the estimate is the same as the one who will do the work.

Albuquerque plumbing, heating, and Cooling were at my house for approximately 2.5 hours. I was told that I would have a flat fee of o $179 just for them to come and diagnose the problem. However that had already been done. They were at my house for a Rinnai tankless water heater. The water heater was under warranty, so they had to call Rinnai so Rinnai could talk them through the reset process. This took about 30 minutes. The 2 gallon expansion tank had to be rerouted away from the water heater. This was done using approximately a 14 inch piece of copper pipe with a small fitting-nothing more. Albuquerque plumbing was at my house for approximately 2.5 hours. The expansion tank that they installed is a 2 gallon tank by Easyflex, and does not hold up to 50 gallons as they claim on the invoice they sent me. And, the expansion tank only cost $41 from the manufacturer. A 6 foot copper pipe at Home Depot cost between $25- and $46 dollars depending on on the size. Long story short, I was charged $830 for work that should not have cost more than $300. And, when I talked to the management at Albuquerque plumbing, they had only bogus excuses, and did not justify this price. I would suggest to others that if you want a good plumber who is going to do the job at an HONEST and reasonable price, do not use Albuquerque plumbing, heating, and cooling. You can find a good plumber anywhere, but an HONEST one has to be found very carefully.

I appreciate the technicians and their work. They were out two weeks ago and "fixed" it for $1400, but the fix only lasted 2 days. When they returned, they got it working temporarily again but left me with an estimate for the full "fix" of over $2500. So I'm going to buy a portable AC unit.
Description of Work: My AC wasn't cooling properly two weeks ago. They fixed it for $1400, only to fail after two days. They returned and fixed it again but admitted the fix would be temporary. They left me with an estimate of over $2500 to truly fix it.

The techs were very polite and professional, the office staff not so much. I called them out twice to address an intermittent issue with my heater. Both times the techs tried to address the problem but were unable to resolve it. As of today, my thermostat is set for 80 degrees, but it is 60 degrees in my house. The problem is not fixed. I called the company to ask that my account be notated to reflect that the repair was not completed and that the issue persists. They offered to send another tech out, but I declined and told the lady that I was calling another plumber because I don't believe they can fix it- I just wanted it reflected on my account. A manager called back to tell me he reviewed the paperwork and in a very snide manner said that the repair was completed. He didn't ask me a single question or even give me a chance to speak. The problem is clearly is NOT FIXED. I urge you to beware with this company, management was unprofessional and dismissive. We still need heat, so I called another plumber company out today.

Just a heads up. I asked this company to fix my water heater. The tech called me and said it needed a part. He quoted me $400. 00. He called me about 2 hours later and said he need another part because he could not find the 400.00 part service. This would now cost me $700.00. I okayed the $700.00 part just to get the water heater fixed. The tech said he would have to order the part. The next day I got a $700.00 bill charged to me. I call to find out was going on. The tech said he found the part he had to order and replaced it. I said he found the part in just a few hours, I thought he had to order it. The company said if was fine and he just found it. No invoice, no explanation! Then the water heater did not work and the company told me to replace the water heater and they we still going to charge me the $700.00. I just had to eat the 700.00 with nothing fixed. Watched out for this. If they could not fix the water heater, they should have told me in the first place instead of just charging me $700.00 for a part and service that could have happened or not happened. This was very concerning and I will take my business somewhere else.

Do not use this company for A/C repair. A technician charged me $225 for an ESTIMATE. He said that one of my units was INOPERABLE and quoted me for a new, several thousand $ unit. I sought a second opinion, and a technician from another company was able to FIX the unit within 10 minutes. When I do replace my A/C units, I will not purchase them from ABQ Plumbing, Heating, & Cooling.

I only do this when I have either a great experience or a very horrible experience. In this case, horrible. I first want to start by saying that our first apprentice plumber Nate was great!!! He was there the entire time and did a great job. I was calling them ahead of time by several weeks and was able to schedule to have a tech to come out to take a look at the area where we wanted a wash bowl to be installed. The problem is how long it took get the actual estimate since we needed to get this installed asap before opening day. There seems to be some form of discrimination. My wife called SEVERAL times and was never able to get anywhere with them, I was within hearing distance and she did everything I would've done, but when I would call I was always able to get what was needed done. I don't understand why this was the case, other than I'm male and my wife is female. This was also the case when I called them later to dispute the invoice. I had two plumbers arrive Nate and Gilbert. Gilbert had stated to me at one point in the day that it is his last day and his boss isn't happy about it. That was a red flag. This was mentioned when 80% of the work was already done. They arrived at 8:48am and then left because they forgot parts. Later returned at 10:18am and actually started the work. They left at 1:27pm when the work was "completed". They also apparently charge you for lunch breaks in the parking lot. That being said, in this link I clearly ask if the work that they are wanting to do will be the better and cheaper than the first initial option that was estimated: [*** Link removed ***] I am told yes, since the other route would be much more hours of labor and costly. When I got the invoice, it was for the original estimate and not for the actual work that was done. I called and spoke to manager by the name of JT, (who later refused to give his name to my wife) and he kept insisting on the price being provided to us as a favor and that the actual work that was done should have been much more due to labor. We explained to him that the actual hours work do NOT match the hours that we have recorded on video (video footage was not intentionally installed for them, that is just the location of where our security cameras are). Gilbert left several times to get parts. Let's say that they did need to travel to get the parts. Their main location is only 7 min away from our business and if they needed to go to a hardware store like Lowes, that is only 3 min away. Nate on the other hand was present 95% of the time. To top it off, the installation was NOT done correctly and they still had to come back the next day to re-do some of it. More hours that WE were charged for. That was not our fault that the work was not done correctly the first time. Even with the return of the plumbers the hours STILL do not add up correctly. Instead of meeting in the middle or actually compromising to get billed correctly, JT was very combative and talked over my wife the entire time of the conversation. This was not done to me. Only my wife. As the video stated Gilbert had mentioned the water heater solution was going to be a cheaper alternative, but JT said that once I signed the estimate, that was going to be the price that was going to be billed regardless if it was going to be cheaper or not. As a warning to consumers and other business, I would advise to stay away from this company, because they will charge you for products and services that are not provided. They really don't care for their customer or any perspective business as long as they get their money. They like to do "bait and switch". Clearly the business is quantity over quality. BEWARE!

Daniel and Eboni showed up to my house right on time. They ran a new circuit from my back yard (where my panel is located) across my flat roof and into my garage (approx 80 feet). They made one trip for supplies and got all this work done in about 4 hours. The conduit on the roof was all properly supported as well as the 220v receptacle was installed plumb and level. After testing the circuit they cleaned up after themselves and my house was left just like it was before they arrived. They were very professional and informative, they answered all my questions in layman's terms and were an absolute pleasure to deal with. I will definitely be using them again in the future and refer Albuquerque Plumbing Heating & Cooling (and electrical) to all my friends and neighbors. A+++

Avoid this company! They are completely untrustworthy! I was disappointed in Travis, the gentleman that serviced our AC. Our AC went out and we were able to quickly schedule an appointment, their booking agent was extremely professional and their response time was very quick. The technician that they sent out to diagnose and repair our AC was Travis. He seemed very professional but the "temporary" repair that he performed only worked for about 2 hours and then the AC was not working again. He told us that he could get the AC working again, but that he would have to replace parts on our blower motor and "clean" the unit at a cost of $1300. When he left his temporary repair was working, but within 2 hours the unit was not working again. I researched repairing this part online and saw that experts recommended that we replace the unit if we could. So I asked for a quote to replace the system since it is 16 years old. They quoted me $15,000. I contacted two other AC repair companies that quoted me $10,000 & $9,000. I scheduled another appointment with Travis to repair our AC, $9,000 is a cost I was hoping to avoid for another year. Unfortunately, Travis failed to properly diagnose our system at the first appointment. He never took the cover off our AC unit, never actually inspected anything except the blower motor assembly. If he had done the job we initially hired him to do - he would've known that the unit was unrepairable. Instead, he conned me out of $1300 by putting in new parts on the blower and then "discovering" that the unit was not repairable when he took the AC cover off and looked at the coil. Since he had already installed new parts on the blower - he charged us the $1300 for the repair but assured me that I would get some of that money back when he replaced the entire system for $15,000 which other ABQ companies, more reputable companies, had assured us was highway robbery. At this point he began pressuring me to apply for financing to replace the system. We, also, discovered that he had built in extra costs into the bid and was working on a commission that incentivized increasing the cost. He said that we could only get back the $1300 we had given him to repair an unrepairable system if we went with his $15,000 bid. At that point I realized that I had been conned out of $1,300. I quickly had him on his way and began working with more reputable companies to fix my AC. This was a terrible experience from start to finish. Please read this company's YELP reviews. This company routinely charges people for repairs that they do not perform or perform incorrectly. Do not use Albuquerque Plumbing, Heating and Cooling and especially beware of Travis.

From the moment I called to get an estimate, I was treated with courtesy and professionalism. Joshua Miller came out to inspect the old unit and promptly gave me a written quote. The quote was lower than one I had received from another plumbing company for a 14 seer unit. Darion and Erik who did the installation were prompt, very professional and courteous, explaining everything they did, showing me photos, etc. They went the extra mile to make the unit look nice from the street. When having the unit inspected by the city of Rio Rancho, the inspector told me they had done a superb job, one of the best he had seen. I highly recommend this company and will be using them for some plumbing issues in the future.

Six years ago I trusted Albuquerque Plumbing to install a high end Weil McLain high efficiency boiler to heat my home. the cost with tax was $19,997.13. When I turned on the boiler this year it would not operate, and water ran out of the unit. I turned it off and called Albuquerque Plumbing to have them come look at it and let me know what needed to be done. They refused to do so unless I paid them an additional $90. We should all think twice before making a significant investment with a company that won't inspect a problem with a unit they recommended and installed without charging a fee.

I used Angie's List to look for a plumber and was quite apprehensive based on reading so many negative reviews about how many dishonest plumbers are in Albuquerque. Albuquerque Plumbing, Heating & Cooling called and left a message for me and I called this morning. My toilet wasn't draining, after repeating plunging. Fore Gen Plumbing called and told me their starting price is $129 and I wouldn't find a lower price. They were wrong. Albuquerque Plumbing, Heating & Cooling quoted me $75 for auger service, from the toilet side. The auger didn't work, so the plumber offered $105 drain cleanout service. When the clog was cleared in 5 minutes, he told me the $105 included a 90-day warranty, free reservice if I have any more clogs, leaks, issues. Corey did an outstanding job, very impressed with his professionalism, courtesy, honesty and integrity. Not only did he call ahead, arrived early, he wore a mask and shoe covers.
