Company also installed AC. Wonderful explanations. Did not mind my questions or looking over his shoulder to learn about my new unit. Thorough and professional. Applied discount for the start up and maintenance. Very busy company so must schedule in advance.

This is 2nd year under contract and I am absolutely satisfied. I was going to replace kitchen faucet ($500) but was told all I needed was a screw tightened and a new faucet aerator which will cost $12!!!!!! Last fall my provider went on roof and protected all 4 units so that pigeons would not always be on roof. Drains my water heater once a year.Service contract with this company is a great deal.
Description of Work: Checked heating system completely and cleaned filters and fixed kitchen faucet. The $300 is for one year contract for ALL plumbing needs and heat and a/c unit checks each spring and fall. Have 2 units.

My old hot water heater cracked, and leaked a lot of water. I contacted Albuquerque Plumbing Heating & Cooling to replace the hot water heater. Since I provided them with the size and fuel type of the old water heater, the installer was able to bring a replacement hot water heater without doing an initial consultation. The hot water heater was replaced, along with the shutoff valve (with was leaking by) and all code upgrades. Albuquerque Plumbing Heating & Cooling then set up the city inspection for me the following week. The city inspector came out, and approved the installation. All in all, a very good experience.
Description of Work: Remove old water heater, and install new water heater with all required code upgrades

Travis came from Albuquerque and I live in CA, so this is a rental property of mine. There was a travel fee of $160. that I thought was pretty high but this plumbing business was so highly rated, I thought it was ok. Travis called me and we spoke back and forth the hour or so he spent checking all the systems. He was very polite and professional. He could not find any problem in particular with the radiant heat system. I have had difficulty trusting some plumbing businesses in the past, but I did feel comfortable with this one. It was difficult because I wasn't on site to see exactly what was going on, but Travis was very patient explaining all he saw to me over the phone.
Description of Work: I needed a diagnosis of my radiant heating system due to some buckling in the floor.

Our downstairs refrigerated AC unit stopped working, and it was hot. We called Albuquerque plumbing and they sent us our a technician even though it was after hours. Jason Sharrar, the technician, arrived promptly, diagnosed the problem, and even had the spare part. We were very happy with the service and intend to use Albuquerque plumbing again soon for our HVAC maintenance.

We heard running water, dashed to the kitchen and saw water flowing out from under the kitchen sink, running over the floor and pooling in the kitchen and eating area. Our water shut off "curb Key" was very old and didn't fit. The kitchen shut off was frozen open; so, we couldn't shut off the water inside our outside the house. Albuquerque Plumbing was called in a panic. They responded within thirty minutes, and went to work. The repair man had to go to Lowe's for some tubing and while there picked up a new "curb key" for the house. That's service!

We began with a round of estimates from three sources. When Jason from ABQ Plumbing, Heating and Cooling came in to give the estimate he very quickly looked through the house and went out to give his estimate. He mentioned various things like the size of our intake vents and the condition of our deck as he was looking through, but he was much quicker than some of the other estimators in moving through. While it may have at first appeared as a lack of attention to detail, it was more likely years of experience, because when he came back in with the estimate he pointed out all the details that he'd caught through his quick walk through, "The deck is bad, I'm going to need to rework all that. I'll need to extend your intakes they're too small. You're water heater is bad and probably almost all minerals and no water at this point. I'm putting a free water heater on here in place of a service agreement because you need that more." And that was the beginning of an experience of "here's what you need and here's how I'm going to make it work without impacting your cost." In general we don't really know what we're doing when it comes to plumbing, so having someone with the expertise come in and build our trust that he's going to provide the best options made it very easy to just keep nodding. "Okay, I'm sure that'll up the estimate some, but I'm sure it will be worth it down the road." Couldn't have been more wrong. The estimate never changed; the bill was exactly to the estimate. I can't count how many times he said "Well this is a big job and I'm here anyway." to something that just needed fixing. For instance, when routing the condensation into the drain in the bathroom he discovered a leak that had been there for who knows how long, and then fixed it as part of putting the drain line in. Didn't show up in the final bill compared with the estimate. Throughout the process he patiently explained everything we were going to need to know about maintaining the system. How to keep our water heater in good shape. How because we have so many animals we'll need to keep very active on the filter replacements. Even recommended a way of using screens on the intake registers to keep a majority of the hair out so we don't need to replace filters at often. Just a constant stream of good advice. And not only that, was happy to talk about how every part of the system worked. I'm an engineer. I love seeing the internals, and he obviously loves what he does enough to explain how each piece works down to the various sizes of the condenser coils and how that impacts the efficiency rating. He even explained it twice. Once for me, once for my wife. The work itself shows craftsmanship. Both Jason and his partner Bill were very friendly, but also very efficient and focused, getting the work done quickly. Although it took one day more than planned, it also happened during a week of unseasonably weird rain that made it impossible to seal out the old system. Each night as they finished they cleaned everything up so that it was hard to tell they had been there. The electrician, Nick was friendly as well, but he was done and gone in one day. Able to work around our existing (and fairly old) system effectively. The rating doesn't really describe how far above and beyond both Jason and Bill went on this project. Making the final look of everything clean, efficient and really high quality. And beyond in that Jason asked him, and Bill happily delivered our old system down the street to my sister-in-law's house so they could replace their broken one. I don't think I'm ever going to waste time again trying to figure out how to fix some plumbing issue myself. Why bother? It'd probably cost me less in time and energy to call Abq Plumbing, Heating and Cooling. My only complaint is that their name is hard to write on a check.

The second visit was entirely different than first. I felt like because I was a single woman they told me they could not give me any estimate until they started work on the sewer line. They had already stuck a camera down the sewer line the first time.
Description of Work: The first time they came to unclog my sewer line was a great experience. This also included video camera view of my sewer line. The line was cleared and I was told that there was probably a dropping of the sewer line and most likely needed replacing. When I called them 2 months later(no coupon) for an estimate, they came and said they would have to start work on sewer line and then give me an estimate.

We had noticed a weird noise in the drain pipe, as well as a leaking kitchen faucet and wobbly toilet. I called for help and the two men came out on Saturday. I expected a large bill , but their charge was very reasonable. We used the Angie's coupon for a discount. The men showed me a simple trick to stop the noise in the drain, tightened the faucet and toilet, and flushed the water heater. We were very satisfied with having them in our home. One important point: these are professionals but they did not balk at helping us with the little repairs.

I called the company about 9 am Monday and a technician came the same day to evaluate the A/C which had not worked properly for over a week. The technician (Jason) was great. He took several hours to test the old unit and determine that after 10 years of good service (without any problems), it was time to replace it. He gave me a choice and estimates on two different units, and explained the differences between them. He “highly recommended” one unit. I chose that unit. He said the unit could be installed Wednesday. Wednesday, he returned on time, worked efficiently and did not smoke, which I can’t tolerate. He answered my questions to my satisfaction. He wore fabric over-booties when he came into the house to check the thermostat and vents. Cottonwood “fluff” was a problem getting stuck in the vents of the previous A/C unit and Jason offered a solution. He cleaned up the area after installing the new unit. Very professional attitude, well trained, efficient, pleasant guy, and well qualified to service/replace A/C units. The fee for the service call for the old unit, was waived since I bought the new A/C unit from his company. I received a senior discount of 5%. The company offers a discount of 10% for Angie’s List members, but I was told that only covered labor charges. The senior discount was on the total cost and was a better deal. I asked the technician about cleaning the interior air ducts (shared by both the heating and cooling systems). I had heard it was a scam. He said it can be done properly and he would need to return to give me an estimate.
Description of Work: Reclaim refrigerant and condenser of old A/C unit and disposed of. Flushed system out with nitrogen. Attached new 16 Seer condenser. Started up unit and set at manufacturers design. Pressures 110/283 and line temperature 80 degrees (required 80 degrees). Ten year warranty on parts and a twenty year warranty for compressor on condensing. Disposed of old A/C unit.

When we called, they were able to get a technician out to us the same day. The technician arrived on time and was polite and professional. After about 30 minutes of work, he informed us that the pads were "mismatched", and that they weren't fitted properly. He said that he had fixed them but we would need to replace them next season, which was fine. The cost of the labor came out to about $90, (it had been rounded up to the hour minimum) which is exactly what we expected to pay. When we started using our cooler more often two or three weeks later, water was again dripping down the roof. When we called, we were told that this second visit would also be a billable call. I was fine with this, as I thought that perhaps the pads were more of a problem than we thought, and we were willing to replace the pads immediately if we needed to. A different technician was sent out promptly. The new technician worked about an hour as well, but told us that the reason the cooler wasn't working properly was that it was dirty and he had to take it apart and thoroughly clean it. When we mentioned the pads, he said that the pads weren't the problem, the dirt was. The cooler has worked better than ever (even with the original pads) since then (it's been a little over a week since he came by). We were charged another hour of labor, again around $90. I was a little upset since we had paid the previous technician for something that wasn't the problem in the first place. I called the office to ask about this, and hoped to talk to a manager about getting a refund for the first visit, or possibly a credit towards future service. The receptionist (who was always very polite) told me she would leave a message for the first technician to give me a call and explain the service he had performed. It has since been a week, and I have not heard from the technician or a manager, even though I have followed up twice. Though the second technician appears to have fixed our problem, I don't think I would use this company again on the chance that I would get a technician that charges us for something we don't need and doesn't solve our problem. If I hear from someone and the issue is resolved, I will update my review accordingly.

We gave you the details above. It went very well. We are impressed with Abq. Plumbing and they will be our plumber in the future. By the way we signed up for Angie's List because of Scott's recommendation. Next time we need them we have a coupon for their services.
Description of Work: We had two toilets that were doing strange things, running once in a while, not always, not filling up once in a while and and unable to flush them at times. Scott came to our home he was on time, in fact a little early, which I appreciated. He was dressed very nice and a wonderful person to represent Albuquerque Plumbing. He thoroughly checked both toilets and felt that it would be better to replace all the insides of both toilets rather than do one part now and then do another later. We have special toilets so he called in to get an exact price on the parts. He gave us a quote and told us that he would have to order the parts and it would take approximately a week. I told him I would like to run it past my husband first and would call him in the afternoon. My husband called and gave Scott the go ahead to order the parts. We noticed that the toilets were not doing any of their funny stuff days after Scott visited our home. Miraculously the toilets were healed. We do not have an answer. My husband called Scott and and explained what was happening and told him we didn't see how we could do anything at that time, but we would be happy to pay for the parts, knowing it could happen again in the future. He was very understanding and said no we will restock the parts and do not worry about anything, just call us when you need us. We were most impressed with this company and will definitely use them for all our plumbing needs in the future. Scott could not have been more professional. Also he told us to go on Angie's list and sign up and we could obtain a coupon to reduce the cost of the work,

He arrived punctually, was friendly and worked efficiently. He had to go out to get the correct parts (filters and capacitor) and that took a while because it was rush hour thus increasing the labor time and costs. Throughout he was fully professional. We are now planning to enter into a service contract with them for regular maintenance on both our heating system and air conditioning system.

There really isn't much to say. I made the appointment and the service person showed up on time, as scheduled. Ray was very nice and extremely professional. After carefully assessing the issues I had stated, he determined the best course of action to take and reviewed his recommended resolution with me. Once I agreed to his plan of action, he went right to work. Ray was aware of his time and performed the repairs without delay. If I recall correctly, he was finished with all 3 repairs in less than 2 hours. One week after Ray's repairs, one of the toilets he worked on broke again due to faulty material. I contacted Ray directly and he worked with me to get his dispatcher to schedule him for another visit. Ray was really great with assisting me in getting the appointment set up quickly without problems. He, again, appeared at my home on time, and ready to work. The parts were replaced, with new materials (none of this adjusting or replacing bits and pieces), and Ray was on his way out the door at no additional costs to me. Yes, I do trust Albuquerque Plumbing, and Ray, and would recommend this company to anyone that would ask.
