It's safe to say that I will never be using this company's services in the future. It's also safe to say that I will tell everyone I know not patronize their company. I have worked with this company twice now this year. Both times I've been terribly dissatisfied. I'm not one to complain about much, but this company is pretty shady. The first time I had them install a faucet (that I owned), for which I had an Angie's list coupon that I bought for $79. I was charged somewhere along the lines of $130 in total. It took less than thirty minutes. I wrote a dissatisfied review on Angie's List. The installer overcharged me (I honestly can't remember the justification now), but, to Abq P&C, they called a few months later indicating their installer had been fired and I was unfortunate to experience his work just prior to his departure. They called and gave me $40 back after a few months. I was impressed with the business trying to make it right, so I decided to use them again, thinking that the lone bad apple was gone. I wish I wouldn't have. The second time was a couple of weeks ago. I told them my heater kept going out and, after reading on the internet, I thought it could be the thermocouple - my heater would go out if I turned it below "3" on a range from "1-5". I made an appointment. I asked how much it'd cost and was informed that it would depend on what was done. I thought perfect b/c, "how hard could a thermocouple be?" I guess I could've done it myself, but I didn't have the part and didn't think I'd get charged attorney type fees for his work. The guy showed up at least an hour early. He called asking where I was. I was at a lunch appointment and couldn't make it for another thirty minutes - he said that was fine and acknowledged being there early. When I got home, I showed him my heater. He asked the problem, I said possibly the thermocouple. He said perfect, that he had one in his van. I asked: "1) Is this what the problem is? 2) What else could it be? 3) Would it be worth it to replace it instead? 4) How much is one of these heaters?" He responded, "1) Probably. 2) Could be this other thing (sensor or valve). 3) That's up for you to decide - possibly. 4) At least $1,000 - it wouldn't be worth it to fix the valve, but the thermocouple, for sure" He didn't turn the heater on, light it, do any checks - didn't touch the heater. I asked, "how much for the thermocouple?" I was informed it was nothing - only $15! Perfect, I thought. I could replace that, as it's the cheapest, and work my way up. He replaced it in seven minutes, flat. I know, because I timed it. He lit it, it appeared to work, but when I checked on it when he left, it was out. In total, he was inside of my house in less than twenty minutes, probably closer to fifteen minutes. Then came the bill = 112.98. I asked why and was informed that his labor is $89 an hour. I said, "you worked for fifteen minutes." He said they round up. I told him I was not informed of this practice, but I didn't think it was fair. So, he placated me and charged me only $65 for his labor, which comes out to $260/hour for the actual amount of time he worked. I paid it, knowing that there isn't really any reason to argue with the worker, especially since he now knows when I work, when I'm home and not home, and what is inside of my house. Now, if that weren't already annoying enough: it wasn't the thermocouple, after all. Now it will turn off if I turn it under "4" on the same scale of "1-5". Maybe he wouldn't have known that it wasn't the thermocouple, but turning it on beforehand might've helped. He also could've probably seen that the thermocouple, appears, to be just as new as the one he replaced, meaning I would've appreciated him telling me that it looked as if it were new so I could better make an informed decision. I doubt I will hear back from this company. I know, though, that I will never use them for any service again, and will go out of my way to tell others not to use their services. I guess I fell victim to what George Bush tried to warn - "Fool me once, shame on ? shame on you. Fool me ? you can't get fooled again." Well, I did. Thanks, guys.
Description of Work: Replaced thermocouple that, apparently, didn't need to be replaced.

Called them Tuesday morning to see how quickly they could get out to the house. I told the operator I wanted them to fix my furnace and that I was 99% sure it was the gas valve. I had already replaced 2 parts over the last year plus and this confirmed to me that this was the problem. The gas valve had lasted 20 years, so I was ok with getting it done now. Made the appt for them to come out Wed between 11 & 1. Mario ( who has come to our house before) called me around 10. I had information on what was going on already (my diagnosis) and this made it easier for him to know where to start. Mario came out, tested and diagnosed for about 20 min. I told him if there was a better functioning replacement part that i authorized him to get it. I have experienced that with other universal replacement parts. Mario returned a bit later with a more modern universal part part and installed it. We tested it a few times and it worked great. It's been a couple of colder nights now and we've had no problems at all. If there's one thing I can say about Albuquerque Plumbing Heating & Cooling is that they are lucky to have somebody like Mario. He is the one of the best assets to them and his quality of work shines through each time.

I contacted Albuquerque Plumbing on 11/19/13 and set up an appointment with them for the very next day. Ken, the technician arrived on time, was very professional and knowledgeable. He diagnosed and repaired the problem within 30 minutes time. I am very pleased with this company's service and would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Our fireplace would turn on when switch was flipped but would shut down within a few minutes. Ken diagnosed a loose connection on the central switch of the fireplace, made connection, started up unit and checked it's operation.

Heater stopped working so I called for repair. They showed up very quickly to diagnose the problem and order the replacement parts...but I didn't hear back form them for a few days as to the status of parts and installation. I called to check status and was informed the parts were there, and that they'd schedule a tech to install. Tech cam put the next day and work was done quickly and thoroughly. Both techs were very courteous...just wish they wouldn't have kept us waiting without heat, or status of parts, for a few days. All-in-all I would recommend this company.

We needed to have the pop-up assembly replaced in the master bathroom and some minor tweaking of the pop-up assembly in the second bathroom. Marcos did an EXCELLENT job and did the work quickly and efficiently; he was personable and professional. We were satisfied the first time we used this firm and are very satisfied again. If we have plumbing problems in the future, this is the firm we will call.

I went very well. Man said all looked OK. He even pointed out a couple of things: Company who installed the unit didn't attach a hose that was still in it's original wrapper that is supposed to keep water out of the unit. He fixed that. Also pointed out an energy savers appliance was still attached. I thought I had asked to have it removed or at least taken off the program.Very satisfied. Will use them again.

I hired Albuquerque Plumbing a few months ago to replace a kitchen faucet and Ray did a great job. He is very knowledgeable and thorough (and one of the nicest people I have ever met), so when I was having problems with my toilet running I had Ray take a look at it.The toilet was very old and I didn't want to replace it at the time, because I was going to have my bathroom remodeled and would be getting a new toilet. Ray fixed my toilet and also crawled under my house to inspect the plumbing, and discovered some plumbing problems and work that wasn't done to code when the previous owner remodeled the bathroom. When the bathroom remodeling began, the contractor I hired found water damage in the bathroom floor and discovered that water had leaked from the parapets on the roof into my walls and floor, and I had to bave part of the wall, floor and ceiling replaced. After the bathroom was remodeled, I planned to stucco the house and have one inch of insulation added to the outer walls, which required extending the outdoor faucets before the base coat was applied, so I called Ray. After Ray extended the outdoor faucets he noticed there was a leak in my bathroom, and he discovered that a screw from the flooring that had recently been installed had poked a small hole in one of the pipes right next to the wall, and he repaired it. If this leak hadn't been discovered before the stucco was done, it's likely the leak wouldn't have been found for some time, and my new bathroom would have had more water damage. Ray really cares about his customers and always goes the extra mile to make sure their plumbing problems are fixed, and he saved me lots of time and trouble, as well as money I would have had to spend to repair any damage caused by the new leak.
Description of Work: Extended exterior water faucets in preparation for stucco, and found leak in plumbing.

The guy came and brought the HVAC specialist to make sure the job could be done. I wanted the return air to go to a distant part of the house. They gave me a quote and then came, buying enough material to go the distance. They came back to do the job. Once there they told me they couldn't install the second return in the distant part of the house after all. They made a hole right next to the furnace instead and charged me for all the venting material anyway. I don't trust Albuquerque Plumbing at all. I don't trust what they say or what they do. I will never hire them again or recommend them to anyone.

It was a waste of money. I am frustrated at the loss of good money, but I don't know if it's fair to say it is their fault.
Description of Work: Nothing - it was supposed to be for a radiator flush, but he said the radiator could not flush (too clogged). I don't know if this is his problem or mine. Buying one of these deals is a gamble if the guy can't perform the work. Personally, I'd reimburse someone, but not ABQ plumbing. I have other complaints about them for HVAC too. See other reviews.

Two plumbers, Anthony and Chris, came out on the scheduled day to locate my water leak. Anthony did a thorough check for leaks both inside and outside the house and each time he entered the house he slipped covers over his shoes to keep from tracking in dirt. The leak was located in a tight space just outside the house. They wrote me an estimate, which I OK'd, and they began work the same day. They dug a hole through rocks and large tree roots and then mud, going down some four feet finally finding the pipe. After repairing the leak, they refilled the hole, returned the landscaping to its original condition and hauled away all debris removed from the hole. Even though the hole was deeper than they anticipated (and they were both covered with mud) they kept their good nature and the job was held to the estimate. I was very happy with the job and the performance of these two workers, they were pleasant, professional and knowledgable.

As it turns out it was a very small problem with the heater. They fixed it very quickly and didn't charge her a thing. When I heard this I was thrilled because how often does this happen and she was so impressed. Thank you Albuquerque Plumbing and Heating! You have a customer for life. I am still planning to have an air conditioning unit put in my new home in the Spring and you will get the call.
Description of Work: My sister asked me who I used for my heater service. That was fine. I don't remember the details of it, but I didn't have any complaints. It was satisfactory. Now, I remember. The way it boils down to is once I got him to service me, I was happy with it. He came to clean my coils but it took me a while to get him back because he was very much in demand. And they're a little disorganized. I had him do some extra stuff in the end, it was like pulling teeth to get him back out to finish up, and I was a little disappointing, but it was understandable because of the season and he was high in demand. But the eventual service, once he was done with it, I was very happy with it.

I had a VERY leaky kitchen sink. Travis quickly noticed that my drains and pipes were leaking. (I just thought it was the pipes). He replaced the pipes but didn't have the drains on him. He came back on his way home to replace my drains so I wouldn't be charged another travel charge. He was friendly and professional. I've had trouble with plumbers in the past not completing the job or over-charging. I will recommend them to everyone.

Service provider arrived within the scheduled window. Repairs and installations were completed promptly. The cost of service was reasonable and competitive. About two hours after completion of the job, I contacted the ABQ Plumbing and Heating with a request that the plumber return the two old, yet properly functioning faucets. I was initially unaware that he had taken them on his departure. This led to a series of unproductive telephone calls. The plumber informed me that he had delivered them to my front door which was not the case. During our telephone conversation, I learned that the plumber asked someone else to deliver the faucets. Ultimately, the old faucets were not delivered to my front door. I suspect they were delivered to another residence in the same development, as the homes are very similar in appearance. I do not feel that my simple request was handled in a satisfactory manner and will not do business with this provider in the future.

I bought a service agreement back in the spring with ABQ PH&C, so I had pre-paid for two visits (this one being the second). Brandon from ABQ PH&C was prompt, clear, kind, and speedy. He was a pleasure to work with. He came in, turned my heat on and let it start up, then took care of my swamp cooler before going under the crawl space and looking at my furnace. He removed and cleaned the filter, then checked for CO2 leaks. Brandon was one of the best people I have ever had come work in the house. He rocks! As always, ABQ PH&C was super helpful, efficient, and a pleasure to work with.

Marcos came by to give us an estimate on Monday afternoon and said that he could install the water heater on Tuesday. He came by on Tuesday with the water heater we requested and installed it - even improving the way the pipes were laid out. The final price came in just a little bit below the estimate and they honored the 10% Angies list coupon. Marcos was great to work with and my brother (from Seattle) said he learned enough to go home and check out the condition of his own water heater. Marcos came back on Wednesday to complete the job (he was unable to get earthquake straps until Wed AM). The city inspector came by on Wednesday afternoon and approved the work. I only gave a "good" on price because we did not get a second estimate and I have no idea if the price was excellent. We trusted Marcos and really did not have the time to shop around.
