It went well as far as the work not unhappy just disappointed I suppose. I will need a water heater in the future and I don't believe I will use this company to install it. I like people who are personable and understanding about people's finances instead of wanting to charge me for the guy to look at it, and 69.00 dollars at that don't think so.
Description of Work: He changed the outside faucet which took him 15 minutes or so not long anyway. It was leaking so slowly that I thought perhaps I could wait until payday but when he called his boss to tell him no charge wasn't going to do anything , his boss informed him he had to charge me a service fee of 69.00. I couldn't afford to pay for nothing so I had him replace it (Jude) was the technicians name really nice guy. He works for the company so no bad feelings on his part, but his boss not a good feeling about him at all, and the way I see it he's the company!

I love love this company! I had my roof replaced last week and found out my air conditioner needed to be replaced also. I called ABQ plumbing and Anthony came out right away to look at my air conditioner and he took the intuitive to talk to the roofing company and figure out when his team could come install everything. When we found out I would be without any air conditioner for a couple days due to the roof repairs Anthony immediately offered to bring a portable air conditioner so my dog and I didn't roast. Jason and Anthony delivered the portable air conditioner that night and took the time to set it up and make sure I knew how to work the machine. The next day Anthony stopped by to check the status of the roof and to see if they had the green light to install my air conditioner. Later that day Anthony, Jason and Chris showed up to install everything, they were very professional and super polite. I absolutely love my new air conditioner and this company and would recommend them to anyone!!! The first time I've ever delt with a company that didn't take advantage of you for being a woman and not knowing how or what was involved to take care of my problem. Thank you guys so much!

It went very well. To begin with, this was an after hours call. The technician, Nathaniel, called to let me know he had a few calls ahead of mine, but that as soon as he could he would be out, probably by late afternoon. He then called back, earlier than I had expected, to say he was on his way. He quickly found the problem, showed me the burned out part, & got a new one to install. During the installation he found that the burned out part had caused further problems, and expressed concern that I would need a new compressor. He had an idea that might get the unit to run again, and though it was an outside chance, it was worth trying. A few minutes later, re returned to let me know the fix had worked, and that the unit was now running again. He let me know the extent of the damage, and let me know that while it was working fine for now, he could not guarantee how long it would last. I asked him if I should replace the unit, and he simply said that he did not know how long it would be, but that given the damage done, it would not last long, and that I should probably start planning to get it replaced. He did not press me to have it done now, just to be aware that the damage would take its toll. I was impressed with Nathaniel's professionalism, kindness, and his sincere desire to get my house cool again. He explained exactly what he was doing all along the way,and showed me, on the unit itself, what had happened. I feel he made the extra effort by trying everything to fix it, instead of just saying it needed to be replaced. When I do replace the unit I will definitely call Albuquerque Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, and congratulate them on such great representation as Nathaniel is for them.

I took them up on "special offer" to "tune up" air conditioning/heating system for about $200. I usually request a checkout of this combined system once a year in the summer, and it usually costs what a standard house-call does (I think about $89) plus whatever parts or supplies might be needed. The technician checked out the system and reported that there were no problems. He spent will less than an hour and seemed to do no more than was done in the previous checkouts for less than half the price. I asked about this, and he said that if additional parts and labor had been necessary, they would have been covered in the "tune up," but he did not specify exactly what would have been covered or excluded. I have been satisfied with this company's service in the past, and this visit went fine, but I feel that the "tune-up" offer was misleading and overpriced. (I had thought that perhaps they had raised the standard price for a checkout.) In the future, I will try the company again, but I will just request a standard system checkout, hopefully and the usual hourly rate.

Marcos arrived right on time and was very polite and professional. He checked out the bathroom hot water valve that had been leaking for quite a while. He explained what he thought the problem was and that he had to go to the warehouse to get the necessary replacement parts and tools. I was a bit worried that this would make the job really expensive due to the extra time required. Marcos returned within 30 minutes and rebuilt the valves. The leak was better but still present. He removed the valves again and reset them and the leak was gone. We then asked him to also replace the tub faucet. He answered all our questions and concerns. When he first gave me the bill, he forgot the Angie's List discount. When I mentioned it, he quickly amended the bill. We were very pleased with our service. My only request would be an itemized bill where the parts and labor are listed out rather than combined.

All three men were polite, well dressed, respectful, and competent. Everything is working and looks great. I am very pleased. They had messy jobs to do, but my home was spotless when they left--taking all of the old appliances with them! I showed David what I had found online regarding the sinks. He got everything I wanted and promptly got the work done.

We originally called Thursday after hours when we smelled sewer gas. Nathaniel was on call and came out and though he's more of an HVAC guy, he found a leak right away and showed us pictures. (He found a 1" hole in an old cast iron pipe under the kitchen sink area in our crawlspace.) He was very personable and discussed our options to fix the hole and replace the pipes. We decided to wait until the next door in order to avoid the time and a half fee for after hours work and he promised someone would call us the next day and that they'd be able to replace the pipe right away. The next morning, Friday, we got a call from a very nice scheduler who told us someone would be out between 1 and 5 but would call us first. Leonard called to tell me he was on his way and he and Saul were on their way. They came out and were very respectful and considerate. I invited them in through the house and they asked if there was a side gate so they didn't track in dirt from the crawl space. They inspected the area again and quoted me a price and got right to work. It took them about an hour to cut away the old pipe and replace it with new PVC. They showed me pictures of the finished job and the actual old pipe with the hole in it. Leonard and I talked about his daughter and that he coaches her basketball team (something I'd seen on the website's about us page: http://www.abqplumb.com/about-us/). Saul was also very kind. They did a great job. Leonard and Mike came out the following week to check the work and give us a quote to replace all of the old cast iron with PVC. They checked the old spot and told us that there was a spot where rain water was seeping in and getting crawlspace wet, too. We can't afford to fix the whole thing right away but they were honest with us about how long we could wait before we might experience other issues like the original leak we had. Great job, overall! :)
Description of Work: Afterhours: inspection & identification of problem. Regular hours: replaced old cast iron pipe with PVC pipe & quoted for replacement of entire length of cast iron sewer drain.

I used to call them all the time. I had a very bad experience with them. The guy they sent out had a family emergency and the other guy that came out with a hammer and a chisel to take the wall out. He spent the whole day hammering and chiseling a hole 2 x 2 feet, instead of talking to me he called two of his buddies to come help him. Once he got it done he place a copper pot there, I told him I had my own fixtures and don't want any plastic in. He got ticked about using that. We had agreed that this whole thing would cost $550. At the end of the day he handed me a bill of $870 because his friends came and helped him. I told him he never talked to me about that and neither did he tell me he'd charge me for that. I also told him that he came unprepared to take the tile wall out on lass. My son-in-law came with a saw and took out a 5 x 5 foot wall in about 2 hours or less. I was so shocked and called the owner and we finally hashed it out. I told him and he asked me to pay what we had decided initially. I don't use them any more.
Description of Work: I was going to replace the tile in the bathroom including the shower faucets. I thought I would replace the old pipes as my house is 60 years old. Albuquerque Plumbing Heating & Cooling came out to replace the pipes, since they have done work for me in the past.

On Tuesday, June 29, I had an appointment for a technician to evaluate the lack of hot water in our house. Pete Chavez quickly determined that there was very likely a hot water leak under the concrete floor slab of the house. Arrangements were made for a crew to come out and confirm the leak location and do the repairs. Albuquerque Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling promptly provided the information I needed to provide to my homeowner insurance company. Technicians Marcos and Chris showed up as scheduled and immediately began to place tarps from the front door to the leak location in the hall bathroom. This indicated their concern for customer property and reflected their professionalism. After verifying the leak location they expertly removed a sink and vanity and a water softener unit. They bored a hole through the floor slab and further confirmed the leak location. This was followed by breaking through the concrete slab, excavating the leaking pipe, and repairing the pipe. When I made an on-the-spot request for additional repairs to the hot water manifold to avoid potential future leaks they agreed without complaint and expertly repaired the other three lines on the manifold. The entire job was complete by the end of the day. Throughout the job from placement of tarps, through excavation, repair, backfill, placement of concrete and clean up both Marcos and Chris demonstrated patience, skill of craft, and responsiveness to customer needs. I was very pleased with how the job was assessed, estimated, and the work completed. I would not hesitate to use Pete, Marcos, and Chris again.

WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nathaniel was so kind and good. Took time to explain the systems in the house to this new homeowner. Was professional in all his endeavors. Cleaned up after each action . . . double checked and asked if there was anything else that was needed while he was on site. Making sure that I was going to be OK with everything. I was so pleased that I signed up for them to check my systems twice a year and I will keep their number handy for anything in between and to hand to all my friends.

They stated on the receipt that they replaced and cleaned the swamp cooler. We were having some issues with the cooling system and decided to have a different company come out to evaluate it. He took a look and said the system hadn't been cleaned in years. So Albuquerque Plumbing Heating & Cooling said they were performing services, and charging us for them, while not actually doing them. An additional issue I ran into is that I purchased a contract from them for 2 services during the year. I had contacted them to do the second service, and the guy that came out said he couldnt perform that service unless we purchased another two service contract. I contacted the office about this and they said that he had to do the service and I didnt have to purchase the contract again to get it. So there was some misrepresentation by the technician that came out.

After finding out Route 66 Plumbing had closed shop and wouldn't fulfill the warranty on their installation job last March, I talked to some other plumbers and was referred to Albuquerque Plumbing Heating & Cooling for some timely service. I called them late Wednesday afternoon, they scheduled me for Thursday afternoon, and Marcos showed up early that afternoon. He found a crack in the new brass shut off valve installed in March, turned the water off, and replaced the valve with a new brass one. He turned the water back on, opened the valve, and made sure there were no leaks. He then filled in the hole, replaced landscaping gravel and rocks, and cleaned up the area. Marcos was very professional, prompt, thorough, and charged me a very reasonable amount. I've found my plumber after a very bad experience with Route 66 Plumbing.

I had used this company before with satisfactory results at another property. I consulted them for estimates for the above work to be done. I wanted estimates with the Provider providing toilets and an estimate with toilets provided by us. After the Tech came to the property and did the estimate, he stated would e-mail the estimate. When I received the estimate, Tech Pete only provided one estimate with the toilets provided by the company. Called Pete twice, e-mailed the company and called the company. When I called the company, the receptionist transferred my call to a supervisor. I explained that I was trying to get the additional estimate and Pete had not gotten back to me after approximately one week and a half. The supervisor stated he would e-mail an estimate within the hour. The receptionist then called me back and stated I would receive the estimate by e-mail within 30 minutes. I never received it. I had the work done by another company. Will not use Albuquerque, Plumbing Heating and Cooling again.

I had purchased a new 1/2 horse power motor from a local hardware store based on Albuquerque Plumbings suggestion from the year prior. They had suggested that I purchase a higher power motor. When they came out to install the motor I purchased I was told the motor is not working correctly. They happened to have one in the truck and said it was guaranteed. I reluctantly agreed to purchase their system after talking with the supervisor, and they offered me a 10% discount for my troubles. When I went to return the motor I had purchased they tested it and said it was fine. When I left the store where I had purchased the motor I went to the office of Albuquerque Plumbing to talk with the supervisor. I let them know that my motor did work and this was unacceptable. Eventually they did give me a $100.00 refund for my inconvenience. I will not use their services again. I feel the whole situation was unethical and poorly handled.

I have first hand knowledge of this repair and assisted in the troubleshooting associated with it. I know the motor in this instance was bad from the factory. The unit provided did spin freely when not under load. When it was placed in the unit and under load was when the internal failure exposed itself and the motor stopped functioning. I believe we failed in clearly explaining this to the customer. I do believe we succeeded in continually attempting to remedy the concerns of our customer up to and including monetary. We do advise our customers to use the products that we stock in our trucks but not for company gain. We deal with plumbing and HVAC systems day in and day out and warranty our work for a minimum of a year. We in our day in and day out year after year experience have identified the best products on the market for reliability and longevity. If we did not care about our customers we would install the lowest cost products. We are looking for a relationship and we want to ensure this repair does not have to be repeated every year. I am extremely happy that this customer has a higher quality product and a warranty on her new motor. Thank You and i hope this clarifies why we do what we do and how we do it. ABQ plumbing repaired the water line quickly, the day or so after we initially called. It appears they did a good job with the actual installation, and the installers were polite. The real issue is with the office: their willingness to waste our time and unwillingness to accept responsibility for their inattention to detail. When I first spoke to their office, they told us we would need to be at the house from 9-12. I then received a call stating they were running behind. When I expressed dissatisfaction, the woman copped an attitude, insinuated we were lucky to have anyone coming out that day because they had to "squeezed us in." If this had been the end of their curtness, I would likely not be writing this review. However, following the installation on Friday May 8, the installers left two huge holes in my front yard. My wife spoke to a woman in their office who indicated that the following Wednesday (May 13) an inspector would be by and my wife would need to be at home. They said they could not tell us what time. My wife spent the whole day at home, and no one showed up. When my wife called ABQ plumbing back, the real problem began. She spoke to a dismissive man who stated that we were not on the schedule that day. He offered no apology. He asked my wife, "Does the person you spoke to have a name." My wife indicated she did not get the woman's name and the man basically said there was nothing he could do because there were 8 or so women who worked in the office. Putting aside the fact that it would not be difficult to talk to eight people, my wife's main concern was this man did not offer to help. She told him the first thing he should do was apologize and the second thing he should do was put her on the schedule. He did this reluctantly and with an attitude. Good actual service ruined by incredibly poor customer service. Their ineptness in scheduling has caused my wife to lose two days sitting at home. For the past twelve days, our front yard has had two large holes (potential trip and fall liability issues) because ABQ plumbing cannot get their act together.

Excellent, we had in 6 contractors to quote this work. They were the least expensive, Before they started they did an extensive survey of the house to make sure the system was the correct sizem Then when they determined the size we had a few choices for the equipment. Since the price was so good, we hired them. They arrived on time, had a crew of 6 and completed all the removal and installation and testing in one day. I actually never saw anyone take a break. The installation also passed the City of Albuquerque building inspectors for plumbing, heating air conditioning and electric. First time. All phone calls and questions were answered quickly and professionally. I would recommend them to everyone. Just a pleasure to work with.

He arrived on time. He was very professonal but also very friendly and helpful with questions I had. He showed me where our water main was and how to turn off the water if we might need to do that. It was very comforting to know that our furnace was not producing carbon monoxide and he measured every vent with the meter.
Description of Work: Drained the Water Heater, checked the gas lines for leaks (furnace and fireplace), checked all the faucets and toilets. Checked furnace and vents for CO emissions.
