It went extremely smoothly and I couldn't be more pleased. It was very worrisome to learn of the water leak and not be there in person to deal with it, but ABQ Plumbing Heating and Cooling handled everything professionally, efficiently, and we're very friendly.
Description of Work: I had a water leak somewhere under my concrete slab. They identified the pipe that was leaking and repaired it, along with another pipe that looked a little weak. This happened at a vacation home so I wasn't there, but ABQ Plumbing, Heating and Cooling completely put my mind at ease. They contacted a restoration company to remove and dry my soaking carpet, and also contacted a drywall company who repaired and painted the wall that they'd had to open to access the pipe.

After work was completed I think there were some problems with my plumbing so I had the plumber come back on 5/12/15. After they came back they replaced the cracked cast iron pipe with the new pipe which cost me $1600. While they were doing this job, they left all the bad piping downstairs and didn't remove it. Secondly they damaged my duct work for the heating/cooling under the house and told me some things were disconnected. They were going to come back and give me an estimate to replace the duct work which ended up totaling $5000. I couldn't do this because I didn't have the funds for it and when telling the service provider this he abruptly hung up on me. I then contacted another service provider and they're doing the work right now for about the same price from the estimate. They told me most of the duct work down there is right where the provider was working and all the duct vents that were coming into the house were probably disconnected by the plumber so they can have me pay another $5000 to do that work. I would never hire this provider again because they're sloppy workers and they did mess up my duct work. I don't trust them. They could go in my house and do something else without me knowing.
Description of Work: The service provider snaked out our drain in the master bathroom.

I gave details above, but I want to say I was very happy with this company and will use them again.
Description of Work: I called since my heater fan didn't seem to be working. Since I had used them before through Angie's list, they had all my information. They arrived within an hour. The technician checked all systems and said it was the printed circuit board. He went and got the board, brought it back, installed it and then he checked the vents for carbon dioxide level. Everything checked out OK. Gave me a 10% discount since I was Angie's list member.

Albuquerque Plumbing Heating and Cooling has been our go-to provider since we bought our home in 2009. We have tried others but always went back. We have always experienced prompt, courteous and expert service and we plan to remain loyal customers.
Description of Work: We requested a winter season maintenance for our furnace. While the tech was here we requested a water heater maintenance (including draining to clear sediment from hard water). The tech noticed a minor problem in the water heater safety equipment and addressed the problem.

Very prompt service on a week end, which resulted in standard time & half charge for labor. Job required tunneling under and working beneath sidewalk, making the job more difficult and time consuming [and very muddy]. Better PEX pipe was used than original plastic pipe, with new parts connecting city water meter and house pipes. Different house pipe materials required both soldering and PVC connections to each house. Quality products used. Job completed in 5 hours with two people needed due to underground effort. Dirt and sod replaced after job, and site cleaned up. After job completion and bill provided, I mentioned Angies List member; contractor then reduced bill 10% - - nice! Neighbor and I split the $1500 bill, resulting in less than an individual job per house. Workers were very professional, and explained thoroughly what the problem was, and how it was going to be fixed - - didn't mind two homeowners observing work, and answered all questions during the job. Will use them again in future.
Description of Work: Repaired leaky main service underground water line. Neighbor decided to also repair same potential brittle water line since both lines were within a foot of each other, which resulted in a small amount of additional digging and parts.

Great work, great experience. Everything done as promised. Appointments all met. All questions answered thoroughly. Good clean up. Old equipment was hauled away for recycling. Crucial information was volunteered on the questions I didn't know to ask. Thank you! We are now on their service contract - which got us a 10% discount off the whole job.

The pipe supplying water to our shower in the master bathroom broke off inside the wall. In order to avoid removing the tile in the shower the technician replaced the pipe by opening the back side of the wall (bedroom wall). The work was done promptly with a minimum of damage to the drywall in the bedroom. I am very pleased with the work that Albuquerque Plumbing, Heating & Cooling performed. I would definitely use them again.

We have a service contract with Albuquerque Plumbing and in September one of their technicians came out and serviced our furnaces. When it got cold in October one of the furnaces would run but did not produce any heat. We called Albuquerque Plumbing and were told they could not come out for 3 to 4 weeks, unless we were willing to pay them $30 an hour more than their usual hourly rate. We called someone else who came out 5 days after we called. In the meantime, I looked at the furnace and noticed that the wiring had obviously been exposed to flames as they were charred and blistered. When the technician from the other company inspected the unit he found a plug on the gas valve had not been replaced, which allowed gas to expel into the furnace housing and ignite, burning the wiring. If the gas valve switch had not tripped, the furnace would have been damaged and we could have had a house fire. As it is, it cost me $126.00 for the technician to replace just the heavily damaged wires and test the furnace. I called Albuquerque Plumbing and told the person who answered the phone about this and was told someone would call me. No one called. I called them a week later and explained the situation again and asked to speak to a manager. At first I was told a manager was there that I could speak to but when the person returned to the phone I was told she was mistaken and the manager was out in the field and would call me back. It has been a week and no one has called. So, an Albuquerque Plumbing technician made a mistake that could have cost me my house and now they are avoiding my calls. It appears that I will need to seek more official means to get their attention.

After a year of home ownership in Albuquerque we decided to convert our swamp cooler system to refrigerated air. We got quotes from several companies around ABQ. Albuquerque Plumbing Heating & Cooling's price was in the middle of the pack, but they were up front about the quality of different HVAC hardware manufacturers, and about their experience serving different systems. They were also very accommodating with modifying details of the quote to match our needs. The sales rep was a bit crusty around the edges, but seemed to have a lot of experience (and in the end demonstrated that he did have the necessary experience). We negotiated the price, and set up an install date. Several technicians showed up for what was supposed to be a 'one day, maybe one and a half day' install. The were very efficient with removing the old swamp cooler system, and setting the new heater, condenser, evaporator, running the coolant lines, and modifying the duct work. Running power from our garage, up through the attic, and to the far side of our yard proved to be far more challenging than they expected (I suspected that might be the case, and had that routing written into the quote). After an extra day and a half (three days total) the new system was up and running. Over a year later it still works very well and we are very happy with our new HVAC system, and with the support Albuquerque Plumbing Heating & Cooling has provided. They have made several free house calls, including one when there was a fault in the new system (once the tuned some settings the faults did not return), once to change the filters, and once to clean the condenser. These guys are good, stand by their word, and stand by their work. I would recommend them.

First appointment on Monday morning, Dec2, 2013, they came out and showed me where the leak had taken place. The cold water inlet had corroded and the water heater had to be replaced. They replaced the water heater with expansion tank, earthquake straps, new ball shutoff valves, and new gas flex pipe. Job went very well and no problems. SIDE NOTE, I decided to replace my upstairs water heater as a precautionary measure because of the hard water issues here in Bernalillo. I decided to use another plumbing company out of Santa Fe NM, that did not go very well. See my post on that company.
Description of Work: Had a downstairs water heater leak over the weekend on 29 Nov 2013, called Albuquerque Plumbing in an emergency to have it fixed. First appointment on Monday morning they came out and showed me where the leak had taken place. The cold water inlet had corroded and the water heater had to be replaced.

Carlos was really friendly and helpful, and used a special sniffing device to find the gas leak in the flex tubing line. He didn't have a 1 to 2 foot replacement line so had to go to Home Depot to get one though. All in all, he did a thorough job and the furnace is working great now! I'll definitely be using them again!

Initially when I had the gentleman in the period come out, he did well. He essentially did what I paid for. The component on the water heater drainage did not close completely afterwards. I was selling the home and on the day of the inspection, we saw it dripping. There was one drip for every 20 seconds. They requested it be fixed so we had Albuquerque Plumbing come out again and they sent a different individual who didn't bring the right parts. He wasn't really prepared. When he put everything back together, he didn't use a pipe sealant. It leaked after we left. It caused some problems. The next guy wasn't quite as professional and he didn't do as good of a job. I did have to pay about $95 additional to have them replace the spicket that they didn't bring out. My realtor had to go to the construction store to pick it up.

They told me I needed a lot of work done and it would cost me about 2K to fix problems. Then, i got a second opinion and this person said that the pricefor repair and problem were both inflated. This al happen 1 year ago;some details are fuzzy. I just thought they were asking a lot of money to repair problems that another contracter said did not exist.

The drain specialist from this company came out, his name is Derrick. Very timely, and professional, quick to solve the problem. He found the sewer clean out right away when no one else could locate it. He solved the toilet and the bathroom tub plug problem by 100' of snake thru the system from outside. He was very informative, pleasant and it was obvious he was very experienced. I will call them again should I need to. Thanks, Derrick and company.

They came out and didn't do any work. They just tried to sell us an entirely new plumbing system and weren't willing to do the job we had requested in regards to changing out the drain valve. When they did come back to give an estimate for the work they told us that it would be $2,500 for the work and suggested getting a whole new system for $24,000 because it would be better for our home. I was very upset with their attitude, they just saw our home and assumed that I could afford all the unneeded work.

Shortly after sunrise, a large shower of water was showing up on the side of the house from a leaking faucet. The water faucet was leaking from a rusted large-to-small adjusting pipe between the large outside wall, and a small faucet from the other side. Repairman David shut off the water from the street, he removed the adjusting pipe and faucet, and replaced it with a new and solid water faucet that was the proper size. No additional piping was needed. Water was turned back on from the street and all has worked well.
Description of Work: Outside wall spigot developed a large leak. We called Albuquerque Plumbing in the morning and received repairs in the late afternoon. Leaking spigot was repaired with a replacement that included valve and opening.
