Turns out plumber who came out used to work for competitor. He had installed several things when we first moved into our home, so I knew we would be getting great service.

We called first thing on Monday morning and Derek arrived within an hour of our call. He was able to locate the issue in less than 5 minutes. He was able to cut out tree roots that were blocking the line and we were back in business. He ran a camera and determined there was a break in the PVC pipe. He stated he could come back and make the repair when we were ready to move forward. He let us know we could save a significant amount of money by digging out access to the section of pipe that needs to be repaired. We have elected to do this and are planning on calling in the next couple of days to have ABQ Plumbing, Heating and Cooling come out and make the repair. Excellent service!!!!!!
Description of Work: We had a late Sunday night episode where we had plumbing back ups in showers, commodes, etc. It was clearly a major block between our house and our septic tank.

Perfect. Two tubs with extremely slow draining; obviously needed snaking. The problem was fixed quickly and a few weeks later, as I write this, both tubs are draining well.

I called to get an estimate on installation of a new garbage disposal and was told they don't give quotes over the phone and would not come out to give a free estimate. They no longer charge an hourly rate, the plumber determines the cost. There is a trip charge of $65, so it would cost me $65 to find out how much the plumber would charge. If they can't give me the cost for a simple job like installing a garbage disposal, I won't be giving them my business.

I’ve dealt with them a couple of times and they are the only plumbing company in the town that tries. They are very honest and they told me what I could do to save some money if I needed to and they are just really honest. They are probably be the only ones I’m using anymore. They are the only people that would show up that day and fix it.

At Albuquerque Plumbing, Heating & Cooling the telephone schedulers answer the phone asking how can “we make your day amazing?” What would be “amazing” is if I ever hired them to do any work for me again. 1st incident. When selling one of my rentals, I found out through the pre-sale home inspection that Albuquerque Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, when they replaced my hot water heater 2-3 years ago, had never called and gotten the city inspection performed. Good thing. They had installed a significantly smaller pipe on the temperature/pressure drip leg, which was not in compliance with code. Anthony justified not doing a proper job by claiming that he did this because he wanted to get the leaking water heater problem that had been going on, undiagnosed/unresolved for days, fixed as quickly as possible for my tenants. 2nd incident. About one month later, I contacted Albuquerque Plumbing to do the yearly conversion from swamp cooler to furnace. The plumber informed me that I would receive a discount if I payed for the fall and the spring conversion at this time and they would then be out in the spring to convert to the swamp cooler again. They were also to fix a shower leak at the same appointment. The plumber told me that he didn’t have time to finish the job before 5 pm but he would give me a break and not charge me overtime to finish up. I payed for fixing the leak and the conversion package at that visit. But when I went back to the rental the next day, I noticed the shower pipes were still leaking. I contacted Albuquerque Plumbing on Monday morning and was informed that they didn’t have any appointment times available to follow up on this, even though they were the ones who “fixed” it. They did offer to have it repaired within the next few days if I wanted to pay overtime. (So I get to pay overtime for something I’ve already paid to have fixed?) 3rd incident. After my last dealings with Albuquerque Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, I had decided never to use them again. But because in the fall I had already paid for the spring conversion, I called for what I knew would be my last contact with them. I thought it would be a simple conversion from furnace to swamp cooler and there would be no problems. Instead, the HVAC specialist informed me that the electrical plug on the swamp cooler was defective and it would cost me $250 to replace. He explained that although it was a $15 part, I would have to pay for his time to pick up the part and install it. This just didn’t sound right to me. So instead I called my electrician who was able to come by at the end of the day and he determined that there was nothing wrong with plug. The issue was simply that the previous home owner had had a new swamp cooler installed and it had not been hooked up yet. Interesting that Albuquerque Plumbing’s HVAC specialist, who by his training, didn’t know to connect/plug in the unit? My electrician fixed it and although he did charge me, I didn’t buy any part and it wasn’t anywhere close to the $250 that Albuquerque Plumbing tried to charge. I complained about the lack of service. What if I had needlessly paid out $250 for that misdiagnosis? And do you think anybody would “man-up” and offer to make any of these errors right? No. Instead I received 10 worthless minutes of insincere apologies with absolutely no offer to rectify or make anything right. And why should they. I’m just one customer that will never do business with them again. They will replace my customer loyalty for someone else who will hire them and keep them until they find out what kind of shoddy work is being performed. I had used Albuquerque Plumbing, Heating & Cooling for about the last 10 years. And so for some reason they probably figured that by now I was an easy mark and they didn’t need to continue to do a good job. I didn’t realize that over the years their job performance had steadily declined. I had no idea that they were disregarding code when installing/performing plumbing jobs. I had no idea that I needed to stand over them and supervise. They have lost my trust.

The evaluation appointment was on time and effective. A complete A/C replacement was needed and cost 8,500 for a 2500 square foot home (the bulk of the cost was the new unit from Bryant). Scheduling of supplier deliveries and a crane took a little over a week, during which time a rental A/C unit was delivered and installed in our dining room next to a window. The rooftop replacement was done on time and took less time than scheduled.

During installation, a faulty pipe fitting burst and flooding occurred. The flooded area was slow to dry (days) and de-installation of the water heater, and replacing wet wood underneath was required. Then it took three appointments by the city inspector to pass the unit. I lost a lot of work time due to these appointments. The Company agreed to replace the owners manual that was destroyed by water and never did.

Work seemed to go well. Problem was fixed within 30 minutes. However, I was charged $220, for 30 minutes of work and a $15 part. They don't bill an hourly rate, instead they have fixed prices for specific jobs. Frankly, I felt ripped off.

Service guy came out to inspect why there was no running water at our house. He was quick to diagnose it as being the pressure reducing valve, which I suggested. He gave me a quote for $800 to replace it. Said he would have to dig a hole to remove it and then relocate it in the house. Well I decided to make it a DIY job which took me 45 minutes and $150 in parts. Most of my cost was the Pex tool I need to buy to make the repair. If he would have moved the sand away from the valve in the box he might have discovered a cheaper way to do it, though not sure it would have mattered because the part price he quoted alone was $150. Not sure where the company gets their parts from, but it must be Kenco. It's the only place in town I know that sells one for that much. The cost for a Watt pressure reducer at Samon's was $53 including tax. If you add $90 for crimping tool and various fittings my total is $150. I would never use a company whose part price alone is three times higher than anyone in town. I find plumbing company's prey on ignorance, but this one is the worst I have seen. If you don't Believe me than get a quote and compare the prices. Find out how much the parts actually cost if you buy them yourself. Only thing I can say is they were responsive and in time!

Let me tell you my story. I am in a rental house temporarily. The owner had her handyman come over and set up the swamp cooler. Well 92 degrees in the house later I realized that something was amiss. I contacted Albuquerque Plumbing and Heating because I have used them for years at my old house. I scheduled an appointment and must have not been clear on what I wanted because Albuquerque Plumbing and Heating sent out an estimator. Well I called the office and let them know I wanted a hook-up and not an estimate. They (I think her name was Bianca), was so helpful, and told me not to worry they would get someone out there. Carlos called me about 1/2 hour later and said he was on his way. The handyman didn't take damper out and Carlos fixed the cooler. The house is know so nice and cool. Thank you so much Bianca (I hope I have your name correct because you solved my problem) and thank you Carlos for fixing the cooler. You guys ROCK!!!!

Visit #1: Technician said I needed a part replaced on the Heating System, but he did not have the part in his truck. /li> Visit #2: Uneventful (Part identified in "Visit #1" was replaced). Visit #3: Technician recommended that a certain part in the hot water heater should be replaced, but he did not have the part in his truck. Visit #4: Part identified in "Visit #3" could not be replaced because Technician was unable to remove "old" part from water heater. Technician also said exhaust lines from hot water heater were corroded and may need to be replaced. Technician also said that since my hot water heater is so old, I should replace it now so that I won't lose hot water during holidays or when guests were staying at my house. SUMMARY I have talked to other customers of Albuquerque Plumbing, and my experiences are not isolated incidents. Albuquerque Plumbing has apparently implemented a program whereby technicians are incentivized to sell additional repairs to customers. Additionally, there is a perception that Albuquerque Plumbing is trying to maximize the # visits to customer's homes in order to increase company income. I have been hesitant to write this review because I know what will happen: Albuquerque Plumbing will blame the Technicians for being too aggressive in recommending additional repairs (However, this is just the "symptom"). The "ground-truth" is that Albuquerque Plumbing has systemically changed the way they do business (this is the "cause"), and this had to come from top management. Management needs to take responsibility for their actions, and in particular, not blame the Technicians.
Description of Work: Visit #1: Shutdown of Air Conditioning and start-up of Heating System. Visit #2: Part identified in "Visit #1" was replaced. Visit #3: Plumbing problem fixed. My furnace and my swamp cooler are both less than five years old and my swamp cooler is on the side of my house - not the roof. It could not be easier. Every year I pay about $85-$100 for the switch over, including new pads. This year, Albuquerque Plumbing charge $20 per paid for four pads on top of the $90 trip fee. And these are thin pads on a regular evaporative cooler, not the thick pads on a Mastercool. So I paid $80 for half inch thick pads, that have always been included for the past tens years I have been at this house, on top of the $90 fee. AND the tech wanted to charge me extra for labor for CHANGING THE PADS. He said the labor on changing pads was not including in the swamp cooler seasonal change over. ???? The whole thing came to $200 for twenty minutes of work. WHAT A RIP OFF. DO NOT USE THIS UNSCRUPULOUS COMPANY.

Contacted ABP to get a plumber and take a look at my issue. Derrick came on the afternoon of the day I called. Very professional and nice guy. Explained the situation and he went right to work: Day 1 (May 10) snaked the clean out for the house, toilet and shower. All was working fine when he left ($ 123). After continue using the toilet (just to be sure everything was going away), the toilet clog again and water start coming out of the shower. Called right away and had me scheduled for the next day early morning. Day 2 (May 11) Derrick came back and re-inspected the line removed toiled and snaked the line again. Used camera to look inside the drain. Found debris on the line, went to crawl space and check installation of drain. Recommended install a power flush toilet as the grade on the drain line was not enough to allow water and matter to flow. Toilet would arrive next day. Day 3 (May 12) came back with toilet to install (included in price) snaked and used camera on drain line again, found construction debris on line, used shop vac on cleanout in crawl space but could not get much of it. Suggested to cut the line to get the shop vac hose deeper and try to get all the stuff there. After this he got about 15lbs of construction debris from the line. Closed line, installed toilet and tested everything to be sure was alright. ($725)
Description of Work: Had a toilet back flowing into the shower drain. Service was provided in three visits as the problem keep repeating.

I had been smelling laundry detergent and wet particle board in the garage after doing a couple of loads of laundry. Like with children, pets, and cars, the symptoms refused to appear when the professional was present. The drain is dry from the washer to the crawlspace, and there is no evidence of moisture in the dust under it. Derek checked the water lines to the washer and found no leaks. We failed to diagnose the problem, but he did everything reasonable, and I now know there's no lake under my house. He was cheerful and polite the whole time.
Description of Work: Crawled under my house 2 or 3 times to check the drain and water hoses to my washing machine. Under my house is NOT a nice place. It's dark and dusty, and you have to wriggle on your belly to get beyond the heat ducts.

We received a water bill that was 10 times higher than usual. After checking the house we discovered a sink hole out by the meter filled with water. We called the City of Rio Rancho and they sent out a crew later that day. Their crew determined the leak was on our side of the meter so we were responsible. We immediately called Albuquerque Plumbing and explained the problem. They had a service man at our house within an hour and got the problem resolved. We have been using Albuquerque Plumbing Heating & Cooling since we purchase our home and have never had a complaint or issue with their work or costs. They have replaced our swamp cooler and furnace (both builders grade and barely adequate) and have serviced them ever since. We can't say enough about how highly we think of them.
