Started off great. I scheduled an estimate for a new tankless water heater. I ended up speaking to Mike over the phone because I got stuck at work. He was very professional and knew his stuff. He talked me out of the tankless. I scheduled an appointment for today, 11/23. I was told the "guys" usually go around 9 to get the supplies & then would head over. By 10:30, I was wondering where they were, so I called. I spoke to a woman who informed me that Mike had been out since last week due to COVID. I asked her why nobody called me to cancel. She asked for my number so she could "look into it", and never called me back. I'm completely understanding of the situation, and I hope anyone that's sick gets well soon, but it is still a business, and someone should have contacted me. Now I get to start over to find someone else to do it.

It went perfectly. They are always on time and terrific at what they do.

Jose & John did a great job in installing a new gas line from our gas meter to our fireplace, for a new gas fireplace insert. They were very professional, friendly, and thorough. The price was reasonable. Will definitely use A.B.Plumbing in the future.

Mike H. diagnosed our immediate concern as a failing hot water circulation pump, which they replaced. Mike was very knowledgeable and thorough, checking everything out, explaining what our options were, and answering all our questions. Mike & Rico also reseated a rocking toilet, flushed the hot water heater and opened a wall to inspect for the dreaded Kitec plumbing (which was not found, fortunately). They were prompt, worked efficiently and left everything clean when finished. While their prices may not be the lowest, we felt their expertise was worth what we paid. We definitely will call on A.B. Plumbing for any future plumbing needs.

Great. No problems. Everything went as contractor described. I met with them several times to get an estimate and then to discuss how certain steps would be done. I had a new gas line installed too. Everything went perfect.

My water heater was 11-year old. Louis suggested replacing it with a new one at the beginning. I insisted on trying economic fixes first. Had thermal couple, pilot assembly, gas valve replaced and couldn't made it work. The final solution was replacing it with a new Rheem water heater. I am having a reliable water heater now.

At the time the new HVAC system seemed fine but now, a few years later, we are having major issues, apparently because of poor work on the part of AB Plumbing. We stopped using AB after a couple of experiences where they were rude and/or non-responsive to our calls for service. They seemed to not care we were long-time, loyal customers but we figured it was just one of those things and turned to other companies for our plumbing and heating needs. We called in another reputable HVAC company this week to look at the furnace AB installed because it wasn't working. After looking at our furnace and AC system, they are finding one instance after another of what they are calling "poor practices." A melted washer in the AC pipe that caused the system to freeze up, which then melted and leaked water into the furnace and gas valve. A crimped hose to the pump. A sensor not placed properly in the AC system. And more. He showed me the rusted parts, the residue from where the water dried in our furnace, the twisted washer, the crimped pipe, and other evidence of a poor installation job. If it was just one thing, I'd say it's just a small mistake but there are so many problems, it's got to be sheer incompetence on AB's part. I noticed the last couple years that the AC didn't seem to be working well but chalked it up to a hot summer. Now I know better. The technician from the new company we called in said the system has been limping along but the poor installation has put unusual wear and tear on it and also most likely raised our utility bills since the system had to work so hard to overcome the installation issues. Not only was it badly done and costly, but it could have been dangerous. Another factor in our dissatisfaction with the company is that last year we called in a plumber who told us the plumbing under our sink was not done correctly when AB replaced our old sink and installed new fixtures and garbage disposer a few years ago. Now with this new experience with the furnace and our past experience with the plumbing, we feel that AB incompetently installed our furnace/AC and we are disgusted that they would do this to a loyal customer who used them for many years. Not much we can do now except tell people not to use AB. We won't ever again.

Luis showed up for a morning appointment and completed the work faster than expected which reduced cost at service.

Took a while to get a response after I had purchased a deal from AL but I did eventually get one. Outside of that the plumber came out and did a great job replacing my gate valve. It had seized up and broke which didn't allow me the option of shutting the water off should my water heater leak or fail. The work was done professionally and really fast. I'll definitely use again.

Using an Angie's List special offer, I paid $89 for 2 hours of plumbing labor. The technician repaired the water line to the refrigerator and dismantled a beyond-fixable solar water heater and capped it off from the gas water heater. I did have to pay an additional $74 for parts to cap off the water heater. Despite the sticker shock for the parts, the overall price was way better than if I went with a different plumbing company, which would have probably charged $180-200 for the two hours of labor alone. The technician was very professional and courteous He explained in detail all of the work he did as he was doing it. The work was performed well, he cleaned up his messes, and I am completely satisfied with his work. Update on 12/22/15 -- The water heater started leaking a couple of days ago, and the company sent out a plumber to fix it at no charge. They are awesome!

Do not use this company they dont show up, you'll get the run around when you try to call

I was very pleased with the service provided. The technician called before arriving and was punctual. He worked very diligently, wasting no time to accomplish all the tasks on my list. He was very pleasant and professional, providing clear explanations as he worked of what he was doing and why. He cleaned up after finishing each task. Everything was completed within two hours which is what I purchased with a "Big Deal" coupon--and there were no surprises or hidden costs. I feel I definitely got my money's worth and would be totally comfortable using this provider again.

We had a lot of little problems -- none big enough to warrant a special service call. The two hours allowed us to get a lot of questions answered. John fixed a toilet that had been improperly installed and checked out a steam shower that wasn't heating water and a possible leak in the kitchen hot water line. He is doing some research on one problem that went beyond simple plumbing expertise and pointed us in the direction of a leak detection company that can help us with the kitchen. He was honest, competent, resourceful, friendly, and we look forward to having him back the next time we have a problem.

The plumber did a good job. It took longer than expected so I ended up paying much more and then there were other problems that came up that caused additional costs. Overall the plumber doing the work was very professional and I was happy with the overall experience.

Rhonda, the office rep stayed in email touch with us right up to the moment of service. This was a lovely courtesy. Luiz arrived right on time, visited for a few minutes and got right to work. He was very knowledgeable and professional. We were exceedingly pleased with his work.

Art called to tell me that he was in route and arrived as expected. He completed all of the work in a very efficient manner and cleaned up so that one would never have known he had been here. He even did a little extra work on the drain stopper for the sink in the bathroom. I was very pleased with all that was done and will definitely call this company again when I have more issues with plumbing.

Nothing worse than having family visiting and the hot water tank goes out. It was a Sunday when I discovered the leak and I called the company's answering service and scheduled a visit for the following day. The tank heater was turned off because the leak tripped the automatic shutoff. Several factors of the visit left me very displeased. First, the plumber informed me he was new with the company, which I found unusual because a professional wouldn't let you know that unless he was newly licensed and he did not strike me as that. As I had to leave for a couple of hours, he then had to work with my spouse (who works from home) regarding the replacement of the cracked heater. He requested a hose, which was provided to him, but he said that the kinks in the hose would not let the tank drain. He was then offered a smaller hose (one of those expandable ones) which would serve the purpose of draining the cold water from the tank (it had been off for more than 24 hours at this point). He rejected that hose because he said the hot water would damage it. He insisted on running out to get a new hose to drain the tank. It occurred to me later that a hose for draining would normally be something that a plumber would carry in his tuck, but he did not. Also, before I left he told me he could "install a new one in about 10 minutes." Later he called me and informed me that the labor would run about $270 and, if we wanted to bring the tank up to code with an overflow tank, that it would be about $60 more. Mention was also made about securing the tank with a belt to protect it from seismic activity. I agreed to the time and the upgrade, but not the security belt. So my thinking was that the final bill would be around $330-$350 to replace the tank with a new one that was offered by Whirlpool as a free replacement. I returned about two hours after I left to find the work was still incomplete - the old tank was gone and he had left to get the new tank about a half hour before my return. But, two hours after I got home, he had not returned, so I called him to ask if there was a problem. He said he had to haggle with Lowes about the new tank and eat his lunch, but "he wouldn't charge us" for all the time he spent doing the haggling. When he finally got back to the house, he said he would install the tank immediately. Ninety minutes later, he finished. The final bill? $509! I could not help but fell like I had been subjected to the classic plumber rip-off. It seems that 2 extra hours of labor were added on to the basic task and taking almost 6 hours to replace the tank. I will never contact this company again. It took less time and money to install the old tank 5 years ago than it did to have this company remove it and replace it with a free tank.

Everything went well. They had the best price of the others I contacted and they were very prompt with service (next day). Great service, friendly staff, and very professional. We had to call them a couple times to fix minor things but they came out right away at no cost. I would use them again

Noritz instant water heater wold intermittently fail to ignite when sensing water flow. Michael showed exactly at the appointment time. Very very personable and professional. As we had purchased the home a couple of years ago and the previous owners had not been utilizing the existing water softener though we had been since occupancy, Michael explained there may be mineral deposits on some of the very sensitive thermistors within the unit that feed information back to the computer. He installed a flush kit and flushed the unit which should remove any problematic mineral deposits. So far the unit has now been functioning perfectly. I had called Noritz US headquarters in California. Their senior technician walked me several steps but still the problem remained. I inquired about certified and authorized Plumbers in the Albuquerque area. AB Plumbing was given as one of three that had received factory training on Noritz products. Michael was extremely knowledgable about Noritz products. Thus far the water heater has been functioning perfectly. AB Plumbing and Michael are tops. This was a wonderful experience especially after a very bad experience with another plumber two years ago. I will use them for future needs!!!

We have been using this company since 2012 for hot water heater replacement, radiant heat boiler maintenance, and a/c annual maintenance. They are always professional, punctual, and affordable. They are an honest company, which we have found is rare in this service sector.

Art Barbosa is the best. Very responsive, and has a great crew. Highly recommend.
