Mike is very professional, on time and friendly. Garage door (belt drive) had been squeaking, so I explained what I thought was the problem. Mike was not only able to quickly determine that the belt was too tight but also showed me how that the track hadn't been hung properly when originally installed. The original install had resulted in the door rubbing against the frame of the door when opening and closing. Luckily both issues were real quick adjustments. He fine tuned the spring, adjusted the track and a few rollers and then reprogrammed the opener's open and close for the new tension. He also lubricated as needed. Price was very reasonable and our opener works better than it did new because of the track adjustments no one else caught. I can highly recommend Mike and A-1 Guaranteed Garage Doors without reservation.

I called and left a message at A-1 on Labor Day. Mike called back within an hour and we scheduled the repairs for 9:30 the following day. Mike showed up on time and completed the work within about 30 minutes. While only one of the two springs was broken, he recommended replacing both of them, to which I agreed. I was pleasantly surprised at the cost - really expected to pay more from prior experience with other companies. Mike took a good look at the door, hangar, and rollers; lubed the rollers and tweaked the door operator for better closure. Mike was a pleasure to work with; professional, pleasant conversationalist, and courteous. We will definitely use him if/when we need garage door service.

A-1 Guaranteed Garage Doors was great. I love the guy, he was really on it. They were honest, a nice guy and he's not the kind of person where he tries to get as much as he can. He even put his card near the garage just in case we had a problem so I like that.

That worked out good. I didn't spend anything additional with them other than the cost of the deal. They greased and oiled the door and now it works great. I'd give them all A's and I'd use them again.

The only things that matter: On time, done right, great price. A-1 hit it out of the park on all of these requirements!

Mike was on time, came out on a Saturday, was on time, did the job in a prompt an courteous manor, and left. I would use him again in a flash. Simple and done.

I explained the problem and he got right to work and within 30 minutes the problem was fixed. Also, he rebalanced the springs for the door. The door works perfectly and more quietly then it did before. I received a full explanation about what was needed and why. I was/am extremely pleased with the whole experience and would recommend using A1 to anyone.

The cable had come off the pulley on one of our garage doors, leaving it uneven and unable to close completely. Mike fixed and adjusted the door and also looked at the others, tuning and lubricating them to make them travel smoothly and with less noise. Mike was ahead of schedule and very personable and thorough, making sure we had everything done that needed doing. We would definitely hire him again.

He was outstanding and just wonderful. He was just phenomenal. I would love to see his business grow. I would use him again in a heartbeat. He was punctual. He couldn't come on the day that we needed him and told us that if we're willing to wait, he would give us a discount which he did. He also gave us an Angie's List discount. He was extremely quick, very courteous and polite. He charged way below what other people wanted to charge us. It was a perfect job. He was in and out of our house for maybe 25 to 30 minutes.

A1 was very friendly and professional. He showed up when he said he would and finished on time. He also cleaned up after the repair. He really knew what he was doing. I didn't shop around too much, so I don't know how the price compares. I would recommend him.

I purchased and moved into the house a year ago. The garage door was very hard to open, and it made a lot of noise. Although I don't use the garage for the car, I finally decided I wanted to get the door working so that I could have better access to it. I selected A-1 based on the large number of uniformly positive reviews on Angies List. Mike returned my call the same day and scheduled a visit for two days later, at which he told me what would be needed to fix the door, gave me an estimate, and set an appointment for early the following week. He showed up a bit early to do the work. He didn't mind my questions and watching to better understand how things work. When we talked during the first visit, I had planned to have him install an automatic opener as part of the upgrade. As he got into the work of installing it, it became apparent that the tight space in the small garage was going to require some modifications to enable the installation. Given that, and the ease and quiet with which the door was now working manually, and the (presently) limited frequency with which I expect to use the door, I decided not to proceed with completing the installation. Mike was was very understanding, even though some work was involved to take parts down and repack the equipment. If I decide later to install an automatic opener, I definitely will have A-1 do the work.

It went great! We had purchased this (and I'm not totally sure it was $49; I cannot remember) from an Angie's list special. It had expired several months ago, but my husband called Mike to ask what he would charge. He said he would HONOR the special deal and come out for the check-up. He came within a few days of calling and was prompt and professional and answered all my questions and had some suggestions. I would recommend him in a heartbeat!

The counterbalance spring on the door broke, trapping one vehicle inside and one outside. Mike was able to come over the morning I called and get the door operational. He was prompt and courteous and completed the job quickly. We have also scheduled a quick follow-up to replace the old door opener that was damaged when the spring broke.

I called on a Saturday at 10:00 am and Mike called back at noon and was able to come out that same day. He gave a quote, went for parts and completed the work within an hour. He replaced the springs with a higher gauge spring and replaced the cables on the rollers. He inspected the whole system for safety and even gave us the coupon for Angies list. Overall the cost was much less than having the manufacturer replace parts and the service was excellent. I will definitely use him again and recommend him to anyone who needs garage door repair.

We are not mechanically inclined, so when our garage door suddenly would not open past a couple of inches, we consulted Angie's List to search for technicians. We read the ratings and reviews of A-1 and gave them a call. The owner, Mike Jackson, answered our call, our questions, and came out that same day. He was completely professional and competent. He is an excellent, patient troubleshooter and fixed the problem (something to do with a sprocket and the chain coming off track). We would definitely hire him again! We also appreciated that he did not try to sell us a new garage door opener instead of figuring out the problem...very honest.

Provider showed up earlier than expected. Called ahead. Quickly diagnosed the problem. Had the part on his truck. Quick installation and tuned up the rest of the door for no extra charge. Fast, Courteous, Professional. Will not hesitate to call again if I need garage door work done.

They did a good analysis and they fixed the problem. And there pricing was affordable, and they were very prompt I was just very pleased with the owner of the company.

He made the appointment. Showed up 10 minutes early and did an excellent and quick job or getting my garage door functioning. Excellent work.

In March we moved into the new-to-us home which we purchased from Freddie Mac. When we took possession, we discovered that there were no garage door openers. I found A-1 Guaranteed Garage Doors on Angie's List, and placed a call to them. Later that same day, Mike, the owner, returned my call. I told him that the garage door was original to the property and dated back to 1976. He didn't think that would be a problem, and that he would have remotes that would work. We set an appointment. Mike arrived on time, went immediately to work installing a new receiver and programming the remotes. He also noticed that the spring needed adjustment and that the door needed lubrication. He took care of those two things, too. He was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We are now enjoying the convenience of an automatic garage door that works properly, thanks to Mike!

I called A-1 mid-morning to get an estimate on the replacement of a broken garage door spring. It is a 2-spring, 2-car garage door & from past experience I knew both springs should be replaced. Mike Jackson was quick to return my call, his quote was good and he showed up & replaced the springs that afternoon. He also lubed the opener device and it runs much, much quieter than it ever did before. Overall, it was a great repair experience-- exactly what I had hoped for based on A1's other, very positive Angie's List reviews.

He did a good job. He only did the tune-up while he was here, but he didn't try to up-sale me on a bunch of crap.

I grew up in a time when a hand-shake sealed a deal and people performed services with integrity and pride. Mike has these values. He calls back, comes when he says he will, is a perfectionist with his craft, cleans up his work space afterwards--so it doesn't even look like he was there--and the price is far lower than other service providers. It was such a pleasant experience to conduct business with A-1.
