Michael was very responsive answering and returning phone calls and answering questions. He arrived exactly when he said he would and finished ahead of schedule. He was very friendly and professional. We are more than satisfied with his work, demeanor, and product. The door works as well as we could have hoped and is whisper quiet. It is also the highest rated insulation door of those we were quoted by 5 different companies for the lowest cost. We would definitely use him again.

We replaced a crappy old roly-poly steel door with a hinged insulated door. Mike quoted a price, it seemed fair, and he did the installation. The thing that stands out is his incredible workmanship. The door fits perfectly. No dust gets in. It stops when the bottom seal it snug but not so snug that it ever reverses. The degree of fit is no small thing because the opening isn't exactly rectangular. When the door opens, it draws inward away from the seals so the seals don't get scuffed and worn prematurely. This requires the tracks to be adjusted just right. I appreciate an installer with this level of attention to detail. Will definitely use A-1 again and would highly recommend Mike Jackson's work.

After replacing spring on garage door, inspection was done to see what may have caused the break. Lubrication on roller was needed and done at no extra charge.

Almost textbook example of great service. Our residential garage door spring broke on one side which basically locked my wife's car in the house. She calls the company on the sticker on the door, they say it'll be 3 days and $220 to do the work. I get home and hear the problem, look on Angi's list and find this company is highly reviewed and has a $20 coupon for exactly this job. I email the company through this site, no joke 15 minutes later Mike calls (it's 9pm at night) and says he can come the next day. Mike comes exactly on time, fixes the door, charges me almost $50 less, and even teaches my wife about the door's operation and how to get out if it happens again. Pretty much as perfect as you can get. Great company.

I set up an appt. with Mike for a new garage door opener but he was able to repair the one that I bought from Sears. I have had a lot of repairmen out for this Sears Craftsmen Garage Door opener. None of them could fix the problem and would not stand by their service call (that includes Sears!) I just doled out money and still had a garage door opener that wouldn't work correctly. It only closed on cloudy days (how many cloudy days do we have in NM?) I know that it was a sensor problem but still the other repairmen just didn't seem to get it. The service calls were adding up and were beginning to cost more than the Craftsmen opener. I vowed that if it had one more problem---it was going in the dump. Mike fixed it and we are on alert - one more problem and I'm having him install a new opener. This guy and his company are top notch. He's the best ! Very happy with his work!

Mr. Mike Jackson arrived on time and started work right away. He is a very personable and nice guy. I had coordinated with him to replace a broken torsion spring before he arrived and when he gave me a very good discount on a second spring I decided to replace both since it was just a matter of time before the other spring broke. I also noticed that I needed to replace the weather seal at the bottom of the 16' garage door so he was also able to do that too. Upon full inspection of all the parts of the door he noticed a very frayed lift cable which I knew about but forgot to mention since I hadn't looked at the door parts in quite awhile. Had I remembered I would have mentioned that when I contacted him about the torsion springs. He replaced both torsion springs, lift cables, weather seals, did a full inspection, and lubricated all the parts that needed it. Fast quality work very nice guy repaired my garage door

I have used him twice at my daughter's house. I had called him and set it up and both times he showed up. I am very blessed because he is a phenomenal guy. He is punctual and very reasonable. I can not believe how fast this guy is in doing the job. He is not messing around. His quality of work is outstanding. He is very professional because his language is very clean and he is very very respectful as far as his language goes.

Our garage door was out of balance and it needed a part. He gave me a quote just to come out and fix the garage door opener. It ended being more expensive than the quote and he did not charge me any extra because he did not have the part. So he went out and got the part and did not charge me any extra.

Mike arrived early, performed all of the work and the door is operating better than it has in months. Mike has been maintaining my garage door and opener for 16 years. He has always been responsive and reliable and his work has always been first rate.

Mike arrived at 5:00, right on time, and began to work right away. He allowed me to watch and ask questions and talk with him the whole time -- he's a really nice guy. I even offered to help, and he said I could grab my tools, but it would probably just slow things down. It took about 45 minutes total. Mike's been doing this for a long time -- he even customized his ladder with a magnetic plate on top and special hangar clips for his tools so he doesn't drop parts on the floor or need to keep things in his pockets all the time. The price was exactly as he quoted on the phone ($185) minus the $20 Angie's List discount, plus tax -- a very reasonable price. I called a couple of other places out of the phone book, and was amazed at what they told me. One place wouldn't even give me a ball-park price, just said they had to dispatch someone. The dispatch alone would cost $65, but it would apply towards the repair cost if I chose to have them do it (but they wouldn't even guess how much it might be). The other place out of the phone book said just the parts would be almost $300, and wouldn't even guess what the labor might cost. It's completely ridiculous that places won't even give you a typical price over the phone. Garage door springs break quite often (Mike said if it weren't for broken springs, he couldn't stay in business). Any place that works on garage doors knows exactly how much it's going to cost to replace a set of springs -- it's something they do all the time. If any place is going to charge you more than about $200, or won't even give you a quote, they're ripping you off -- call Mike instead.

Had a garage door fail, Mike arrived within a few hours of my call. He was knowledgeable and performed the repairs efficiently, also made some adjustments to help the door operate better.

Mike came over to our house to replace 2 springs that had broken due to wear. Very professional, on time and accurate with his quote. In addition he straightened a brace and greased wheels, all in about 40 minutes. I highly recommend using A-1 Garage Doors for any repairs you need for your garage doors. When we decide to need a new garage door opener he will be our installer. We are very pleased with Mike, our garage door is very quite and smooth.

My opener was covered by a home warantee company that was not one Mike was affiliated with. I told him that unfortunately since the opener was covered under my contract I had to use the repair person they required so just bill me for the work done. He correctly analysed the problem, charged me nothing, and the problem has been resolved. The day I called Mike, he initially tried to give me an appointment the next morning. I hesitated to accept this appointment as mornings are my time for chores and getting ready for work. Then he suggested he come over to my house that same evening after work. I advised Mike that I could be at my home at 5:45pm since I got off of work at 5:30pm. When I arrived home, there he was, waiting in his truck in front of my house! He was very pleasant and got to work right away. He replaced the springs and then had me come test it. The garage door opener has never been as quiet or smooth as it is now!! He cleaned up after himself. Mike gave me credit for the coupon mentioned on his Angie's List page. I was very happy with his service. I'm giving his number to a co-worker today!

Everything went very well. I thought the price was a little high but Mike told me it would be cheaper if I waited until Monday. I decided to go ahead and get it over with that evening. So that was my choice. He also found a plastic bushing that the last guys had failed to install and he put one of those on too. I would definitely call A-1 again for our garage door needs. AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!!! Our garage door spring broke and I finally got around to calling around on a Saturday to schedule someone to come fix it, most likely on the following Monday. I called a couple of places and left messages, then I called A-1 Guarenteed Garage Doors. The owner, Mike, actually answered the call. We originally were going to schedule something for Monday, but then he said he could squeeze me in prior to his next appointment that day!! It was GREAT!! He said it would be about an hour before he could get there, at he was right on time. He quickly replaced the spring and oiled the chain and it works like a charm!! The garage door is sooooo much quieter now, it sounds like it is brand new. I would definitely recommend Mike and his company to anyone who wants great quality work done at a fair price.
