He's very reliable. He comes out at a moment's notice. He's very experienced and does a good job. I had no problems with him.

The carriage on our Genie screw drive garage door opener had worn out. Initially, the door would still open, but made awful banging noises when it hit the connecters along the screw drive. I immediately called Mike based on his Angie's List reviews and scheduled him at his earliest availability to come out and take a look. A day or two later, the carriage failed altogether. Mike was already scheduled to arrived two days after the failure. I called and left him a voicemail to let him know the update. Five minutes later, Mike texted me back to thank me for the update and let me know he could fix it. Mike arrived five minutes early for his appointment, replaced the carriage in 15 minutes, inspected the rest of the door and found no additional problems. He also gave me the Angie's List 10% discount as advertised. Garage door works great. I really appreciate Mike's service, and would certainly call him again if I had any future issues with the door.

Mike showed up as scheduled both for the estimate and to do the actual installation. The installation was professional, the door is good quality, and Mike was very careful to clean everything up.

I called A-1 Guaranteed Garage Doors to arrange for my garage door torsion springs to be replaced after one broke. Mike showed up on our prearranged time and day. He replaced the torsion springs and made some adjustments to the garage door and finished the job in about half an hour. If I need more work done on my garage door that I do not wish to do myself, I will give him a call. I believe he provided excellent service at a reasonable price.

Got home from work on Friday afternoon 2/8 and discovered that my garage door wouldn't open. Called a couple of companies, both highly rated on Angie's List, including A-1. I decided to go with A-1. Mike was very knowledgeable and friendly, and quickly helped me over the phone to diagnose my problem as a broken spring. He was able to come to my home at 11am the next day (today), and quickly replaced my broken spring for what I feel was a very good price. He also lubed the rollers and drive-screw for no extra charge. The 10%-off Angie's List coupon was very nice to be able to use too. All in all I'm very happy that I called Mike at A-1, and will definitely call him in the future whenever I have any other garage door or garage door opener problems.

I was having a problem with my garage door. It had cracked at the top of thre door. Mike arrived and said he could repair it if I wanted him to. He explained what he would do. He then completed the repair. He also checked my other garage door. He lubricated the wheels and made some adjustments on the door he repaired. His rates were great.

Everything went well and I would recommend them.

Mike repaired a broken garage door opener within about twenty minutes. He then put us on his schedule, and returned two days later to replace another garage door opener, and replace some old springs, which were causing the garage door to rock. He also installed and programmed a keypad on the outside of the garage door. Both garage doors are working perfectly. He was prompt, courteous, honest, and did great work. I couldn't be happier, and would not hesitate to use him in the future. I would also be happy to recommend him to friends and family.

We were glad that Mike was able to come repair the door the same day that we called. He had it fixed in no time, and charged a very very reasonable price, plus gave us a deduction for Angie's List. He was friendly and did an excellent job. We know that down the road we'll have more problems with this garage door, and will definitely give Mike a call to please come patch it up again.

Our double wide garage door was already pretty funky when we moved into our house @ 11 years ago. We had a tune-up and installed a new motor along the way, but it still had the old (and probably obsolete) spring system on either side of the garage. Recently it started wobbling and we were having some problems opening and closing it. We called Mike Jackson, and he came out to have a look. He recommended that we retrofit a spring and pulley system inside the front of the garage, which would at least smooth out the functioning of the door. We agreed to do this - and appreciated his honesty in telling us what our options were. Mike showed up on time and the project was done well, and quickly. Eventually the whole door will need to be replaced, but budget is an issue, and the system he installed will at least lengthen its life. It's still noisy (we have a chain lift and it's an old uninsulated metal door), but it is certainly working much better!

I can't remember the owner's name offhand, but he was very professional and punctual. He came out on a Saturday morning to give an estimate on our garage door but was unable to service it because his company does not carry the brand. Instead of trying to talk me into buying a new door, he gave me the name of a different company that does carry the brand. If we ever do get around to changing the doors on the garage, we'd probably go with A-1. Very professional.

I had 3 estimates from 3 different Angie's List companies and A-1 was the best because of the price, the doors that had insulation without the price going up, and he installed the garage door opener at a good price of $295, which also restored the lights in my garage, and the posts that the other company was going to charge me $150 each to remove, he removed for free. He also gave me a 5% discount which saved me approximately $80 and all this was offered to me as a lifetime guarantee for the doors. The only problem was I did not have the total money upfront, he doesn't finance but allowed me to pay monthly without interest with some down. I paid $400 down and am paying about $150-$200 per month to him. Mike Jackson, the owner, did the job perfectly and even installed locks on the inside of my garage doors. It took him several hours, under 8 hrs and worked alone. I could not be happier with the job he did for me. Not only do I have 2 great doors that function, look stylish at a reasonable price, but I feel safer at night as well. I highly recommend A-1 Garage Doors to anyone who needs garage doors repaired or new ones installed.

Our spring broke suddenly and my husband's car was trapped inside. I called Mike and he said he could come the next day. He arrived on schedule (maybe even a little early) and was extremely personable. We had a nice chat then he got to work and finished very quickly. He also lubricated all the parts for us. I will definitely share his name with anyone I know that's in need of help with their garage! We got our money's worth.

Mike did a fantastic job. We called him and left a message, he came out and looked at the door and gave us an estimate. He returned a couple of days later and replaced the garage door opener. He did point out that the last installer put the wrong springs on the door - which we would replace when they broke - about a week later. He was out about a week later to change the springs - fit us in at 6:00 on a Friday night. Mike is efficient, knows what he is doing, and is very courteous. The garage door has never run smoother in the last 20 years!

Wow! Throughly impressed with this company and will use them again in the future. Called at 8 AM and someone was at the house by 10 AM. Backing up -- we had a garage door installed by another contractor who did not complete the job. What a mess! Garage door guides needed to be reset and door needed to be sealed. By 5 PM the door was reset and throughly sealed. Service was great! Installer was professional and job done completly! Great to do business with.

I asked him to come to fix the weather stripping on my two garage doors. He came by to give me an estimate and returned a few days later to do the job. He did a good job and was nice to work with. I had someone else give me an estimate a few months ago. His price was more than twice as much and he said he would try to get the material to do it for less cost. he never got back to me

The phone rep was cordial and professional. The crew came within 15 minutes of the appointment time, were professional and courteous, and did not waste time. They got right to work and I got goodservice on my garage door.

Called for repair of door. Tech arrived the next day at agreed time and replaced broken parts.
