4th Generation Craftsman

I contacted five contractors from Angie's List to provide an estimate on building an addition to my home that would include a bathroom and large master suite for my Mother. It was apparent immediately that Cory knew his business well. His quote was in line with the other quotes we received. I appreciated his payment schedule of paying in stages of the project. Mom and I easily narrowed our decision down to go with either Cory or one other contractor from Angie's List. We met with Cory last weekend to see a house where he had performed some extensive remodeling. The work he did was beautiful. There were no visible seams in the ceilings or walls. The new wood floor was weaved in so well with the old wood floor that you really couldn't tell where one began and the other ended. The kitchen and bathrooms were outstanding. Not only did we find Cory's work impressive, we found his relationship with the homeowner to be as impressive. He really cared about what she thought of his work and even stopped to answer some questions and show her how to do something with the outdoor plumbing. Making a decision between hiring Cory or the other guys was difficult but we did end up going with the other guys. As I told Cory, there were no "cons" to hiring either of them, just different "pros" and we had to decide which "pros" were more important to us. I am keeping Cory's number and will readily pass it on to anyone I come across who is in the market for a contractor.

Cory Boyd, the owner is extremely knowledgeable in all phases of construction and landscaping. His attention to detail, meticulous work and commitment for quality was evident as the project has continued. I have been so impressed with his work ethic and the quality of the work done that I recommend him highly to anyone with a major or minor construction project. Deep trenches were dug for the footing with a great deal of rebar, the walls were erected perfectly plumb, and arch with lintel was placed over the opening for two custom made wooden gates, custom lighting with photo sensor placed on outside of wall and the entire wall was shaped to appear like adobe. Synthetic stucco was used to cover the wall and a large portion of the existing walls and the south elevation of the house. The stucco job blends in perfectly with the rest of the house. Cory cut multiple slabs of flagstone resulting in a beautiful patio and will be building planters to match. As you can tell I am very enthusiastic in my praise for Cory and his 4th Generation Crafstman company. He is truly a craftsman and I will hire him again for any project that I need done.

Cory is truly a master craftsman. Our home is nearly 100 years old in a historic neighborhood. We had an existing bathroom that consisted of essentially a washroom and adjoining, but separate tub room. I devised a plan to convert the washroom into a powder room and the tub room into a separate master bath. I'm a designer by trade and had very specific details about layout, materials and execution of the project. One of the major details included the existing cast iron claw-foot tub that needed major refurbishing. When we chose Cory as our contractor, one of the major considerations beyond his expertise was his trustworthiness. He is one of a handful of people, including family, I would trust to be in our house alone. We decided to have the work done while we were out of town. He was able to execute 95% of the job, at budget (very reasonable), within the 5 days we were gone! The work was flawless and the tub came out amazing (2 days of stripping and hand finishing)! Cory has expert knowledge in construction techniques, craft, planning, and materials (from historic to ultra contemporary). He will be my FIRST choice for all construction needs, both indoors and outdoors. I am thankful to have him as a professional resource.
