Description of Work: They did a variety of projects. We were so happy with their work, we kept adding to the scope.Window replacement, bathroom remodel, paving,concrete steps, attic clean out and new insulation, new block wall in rent house to replace large old sliding door, etc.

Description of Work: Makinson's kept stalling and strining me along and in the end they did nothing. I am 9-11 eye-witness first-responder, rescue and recovery worker.(and am on the 9-11 Memorial Scroll of Honor) I shared this with the service manager. I have severe PTSD. I asked him to be patient with me. I needed time to work out details. I had had a horrific experience with a crooked roofer a few months earlier. That roofer ripped me off. Applied a new roof in need of some repair.I lost alot of money and was depressed.I thought Makinson would understand that I needed sensitive treatment. The manager became abusive, reprimanding and basically sadistic. I found out later from other contractors that he was like this with others.First he would make an agreement, then change it and then decided to break it and not do anything. This happened several times. He kept holding more deposits than he was supposed to and I had to demand the deposits back. His manipulation was deplorable.I have no doubt that he will try to defend himself. But in the end, his personal abusiveness not only damaged my feelings but the stalling caused problems with my home due to lack of repair beore the rains came. Fortunately, concerning the gutters and downspouts. A kind and sympathetic employee to the time to find a responsible roofer for me who did a fantastic job AND was courteous and mature.

+ -1 moreThey are one of the few companies willing to work on an adobe house. I had them replace most of my windows over a period of about a year. They use good quality windows (Berkshire vinyl double-glass) and are meticulous about the fit and finish around the windows, inside and outside. The windows are special-order and it took them a month or two each time to arrive, but the installers then went to work quickly to cut out the old windows and put in the new ones. My house is adobe with stucco on top, and it was hard to judge how the windows were attached; they ended up just cutting the old aluminum windows to make room for the new ones, and then stuccoing back over them. I'm very happy with the windows themselves; the rooms are noticeably cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

+ 0 moreThe team was very professional, worked hard, talked about any problems. All went very well. Called them backed when I saw cracks around windows. I told them it could be the aircraft sonic booms. They repaired the cracks. We are very pleased with their work and would recommend them.

+ -1 moreMakinson is timely, consistent, professional and they do an excellent job. They show up on time on the day they scheduled. The crew was polite and did a great job. There was no mess after they left. I actually hired Makinson to insulate my attic after this job. Again, no problems, no mess, no heartache. You may pay a little bit more compared to other local contractors but at least you will get good service and a job well done.
Description of Work: I hired Makinson to replace the majority of windows in my home and one large sliding door. An estimate and measurements where done in August, the custom windows and door where ordered. Makinson came back in mid October when he said the windows would arrive and when he had an opening to install, installed the windows and door and no problems.
