I called Herrera Installations and asked to meet Alfonso Herrera to get an estimate for masonry work to raise a fence. Two days later at the appointed time he didn't show. I had taken the day off work to meet with him. I called when he was 30 minutes late. He said he was running late dropping his boys at school but would be there in a few minutes. Another 30 minutes passed! I called again. His excuse was he went to the wrong side of town but was on his way to the address now. Another 30 minutes passed and I called again. He said he was sorry he had lied to me. He had forgotten about the appointment and was not coming at all that day. I told him to forget it I wouldn't use a dishonest man for my job. I would call someone else. I also told him I would not recommend him for any work. He began cussing yelling and threatening to kick my a**! The Yellow Pages Advertisement says he has a License #379667. I'm not sure he does!

The job turned out beautifully. I hired them to re-stucco my adobe house. The old stucco had lots of cracks and voids, and several loose spots where it was about to fall off. They took off all the loose parts, covered the cracks with fabric mesh, and put a new layer of cement on the more-damaged parts. Then they re-stuccoed the whole thing. My only gripe is that it took them a long time to start the work (about 3 months). In their favor, they did call every week or two to let me know they were running late and to give a new estimated start date. Once they started, they worked quickly, and finished the whole job ( a 3200 square foot house) in a week. Happily I wasn't in a hurry, so the delay didn't hurt anything. They did respond promptly to my request for an estimate, coming out the same afternoon and giving me a binding bid on the spot.

This contractor stood me up after promising to provide an estimate for masonry work. I called the contractor on a Saturday morning and requested an estimate for repair work on two retaining walls. The contractor told me that he was currently on a job but that he would come by the house at 1000. Although I had errands to run that morning, I waited at the house for another two hours and he never showed up. I called back and he apologized for the delay but promised to visit in the afternoon. We settled on an appointment at 1:00 pm and he promised to provide an estimate at that time. The contractor never showed and never called to reschedule. It's hard to believe that anybody can stay in business with such a lack of professionalism and integrity. I'll never call this company again for any type of work.
