Response from SavATree Wyckoff
Super-storm Sandy created many problems for residents throughout the northeast. As a tree care company we prioritized work based on which clients had trees on houses, followed by blocked driveways, followed by those that posed a safety risk to the homeowner’s family. This client’s situation did not meet that criteria, which is why their property wasn’t serviced immediately. Our arborist visited with her within 48 hours of the storm, and provided an estimate of $1,600 (not $2,200). There were many fly-by-night tree companies that came in from other areas, often without the proper licenses and insurance, who offered low rates. Most homeowners realize that there are risks in dealing with companies that they are not familiar with, and fortunately for us most clients were patient, and understood that personal safety is top priority. As far as the lawn program goes, no matter what service you use – professional or do-it-yourself – it usually takes about a year for the turf to look remarkably better. This client only used our service for 6 months so the results were not as evident as they would have been at the one year mark.
