Edward's Garage Doors

This company is terrible. Twice I asked them to come fix an issue with my door openers and each time they failed to identify the problem and told me I needed to replace the entire opener. Both times I called another specialist and both time the other specialist immediately found the problems and fixed them at a very low cost. Had I not sought another company, I would have unnecessarily paid hundreds more to Ed Stapp Garage Doors. I would stay far away from them.

less than a week after he repaired my garage door, i had a problem with the door closing,which happened to be one of the original problems. I called the owner Charles and explained to him the problem. He gave me a bunch of scenarios on how the door could be fixed,or maybe this or that was the problem,but would not come back to look at the door again. I understand the door is a old door and probably needs replacing,i felt if that was the problem he should have told me that before he even starting working on the door. then i would have made a decision to let him try to fix it or get a new door. He informed me about getting a new door after he did the work, noted on the bill. After his refusal to return,i felt like i was ripped off. i will always remember the name of his company and will never use his services again. I am still ****** off. I took the lost.

Punctual, attentive, flexible, excellent job. Highly recommended. Worked around stored obstacles. Used existing tracks with creative use of hardware rather than digging into and repairing concrete floor. Completed job in one day once door panels were delivered from manufacturer.

Ed called back after first message and we reviewed the work needed. I checked another provider who described the same work was needed but a $100 more. When hired, Ed could come the next day and arrived right on time. Explained everything to be done, did everything as described and expected. Finished in a timely fashion and removed all the old equipment and parts. Couldn't have gone smoother or better. Definitely recommended. Great choice of person to do the job. And, I like that the man who answers the phone does the job.

I’ve used Ed in the past for a motor replacement. Very happy with his work. I called him up and he was out the next day to fix the door.

On time, friendly and neat. Everything was explained and worked very well. My door had no power in them to raise or lower. He replaced the old motor with a Liftmaster Model , gave us new safety eyes and a wall buttons,2 remotes and a keypad. He returned my call immediately, we set a time for him to take a look at the door , and he did the work the same day.

Ed came within the hour, replaced springs on both sides, and was courteous and pleasant. Cost was reasonable. I’ve recommended him and would hire him again.

Ed is great and he explains to me all the necessary work that needs to be done to fix my garage doors. I talked to him over the phone before he came, and he showed up with 2 new garage door openers. He replaced the two 17+ years old broken 1/3 horse Liftmaster chain drive with two 1/2 horse Liftmaster 8355W belt drive (one per door), with new wireless keypad. He also replaced all the metal rollers with the quieter plaster(or rubber) ones, and changed the springs/pulley/wires/etc, whatever that's necessary. He finished the work under 4 hours. Cost is reasonable. My garage doors have never been this smooth and quiet since 1999 when the house was built by some cheap contractors. To me, Ed is the garage door go to man :-)

Well, he came to the house and said," yeap, you need a new unit" and I wrote a check for $59 and he left...

Spring broke and Ed repaired it along with installing a new garage door opening system. The garage door kept going off balance and I had all sorts of issues that he had to come 2-3 times. He's responsive and a nice guy but at the end he couldn't figure out why my garage door was unbalanced and started suggesting I expensive alternatives as he couldn't figure out why. In the end, I ended up hiring someone else and they were able to fix it in hours, though costing me another $500.

Ed brought three models to choose from, which I thought was great! I chose the one with battery back-up and Wi-fi (you can use your phone to open the garage). The installation was quick and after two months of using it, I have no complaints.

When the keypad turned out to not be the issue with my garage door I asked if I would receive a credit towards the replacement of my entire system. He said no because he had already spent so much time here. He hadn't really spent a whole lot of time at my house. I really disliked his attitude and after hiring Precision Garage Doors, I realized Edward's prices are very high. I'm out $300 to replace a keypad that didn't even fix the issue.

Edward came and gave me an estimate which I thought was quite reasonable. He came prepared to do the job if I found his estimate reasonable and in about 2 hours it was finished. I'm really pleased with the job. He clearly knows what he's doing. He worked efficiently, cleaned up after he was done and removed the old opener parts. Couldn't be happier. On top of that, he's a very pleasant fellow.

Ed was able to come out same morning and replace both springs, cables and pulleys. Work was done quickly and completely, garage door is working better than ever.
