POWER WASH SEAL OF BERGEN COUNTY

He refinished my deck less than one year ago with a two year guarantee. I picked a natural color and the deck is orange with stain coming off. I contacted him last week to tell him the stain was coming off and asked what could be done. I sent pictures and he came by to see for himself. He washed two steps and told me to clean with Clorox 'Pro Results' bleach as stated on his website. He sent me a link from his website about Pro Results. I questioned a few times but he stated that was what I should do! I proceeded assuming he knew what he was talking about. WHAT A MESS! He is VERY EXPENSIVE and I thought he would stand behind his work and recommendations! STAY AWAY!!!!

I really liked the guy a lot. He was incredibly thorough.

When I first met Rich Narins, the President of Power Wash Seal of Bergen County (PWS), I found him to be very knowledgable and passionate about his work. I contracted with PWS to refinish our outside deck, railing and spindles expecting a wonderful experience. Instead I ended up with a deck that my 10 year old son said looked "awful" and that he hoped that the workers had not finished the job yet because if they had then I should ask for my money back. I signed up for Deck Package A which included a double strip with sodium hydroxide/meth chlorine to bring the deck back to its virgin timber. The deck had been painted blue by the prior owners and therefore required a lot of chemicals to get it back to the virgin wood. After the stripping I pointed out to Rich that there were splinters of wood everywhere and wanted to make sure that the splinters would be taken care of. He said not to worry, that the men were going to dry brush the floors to remove the splinters before staining. He mentioned that it may not be 100% free of splinters at the end, but that it would be somewhat close. There were also nail heads sticking out all over the deck, which I pointed out to Rich and was once again reassured that they would be hammered in properly. The men proceeded to stain the deck with a Cabot Translucent #9200 Natural, but failed to remove the splinters that covered a majority of the deck. The deck was now a bad orange color, full of splinters and nails were sticking up everywhere. We told our children to stay off of the deck because there was a good chance they would either end up with a splinter or cut their feet on a nail head. I was also warned that there would be variations in the color throughout the deck because of new wood being along side of older wood, but the variations were so significant that it looked like a patchwork quilt. Who would dream that you could pay someone $15,000 and you would be left with a deck that looked like it belonged on the back of a falling down shack! I should have been advised to go with a colored stain so there would be uniformity. I hired another contractor to redo the deck for $4,500. This time, the deck was stripped, sanded and stained a solid color. It now looks amazing!

It worked out fine and they arrived on time. It was a little expensive, but they did a good job. I have no complaints with the work except that I later found out I could have had the work done cheaper.

They did a very good job. They were punctual, price was reasonable, and I would highly recommend them.

Service was on my home, a circa 1955 split-level house in New Jersey. Required a 40% deposit. We agreed on a time and date and they were prompt. Haven't had the house washed during the following two years because I thought the service was pricey, but note that this wasn't just a power wash of the siding. They also washed and sealed the asphalt driveway, scrubbed rust stains on the siding and applied an oxygenated bleach to remove/inhibit algae on the walks and concrete patio. Two years later the walks and patio are mostly free of algae despite quite a bit of rain. ;-)

The service was prompt, responsive and professional. This is not the cheapest provider, but Richard is knowledgeable, honest and prompt.

My experience with them was excellent. I would give them superior ratings and their price was good as well. I would recommend them and use them again.
