Overall a horrible experience. Unresponsive, dishonest, lazy, disorganized, and highly unprofessional. Doing all I can to warn potential clients of this "business"'s incompetence. These guys don't even pass the bottom threshold to be listed on this site at all. Stay far away!

I was referred to this service under a policy of home insurance repair issued by AIG Insurance Company to repair my stove because the oven didn?t heat up. The problem began about a week before Thanksgiving so I absolutely needed the repair completed before the holiday since I had a house full of guests coming. After filing the claim with AIG, I was advised that Appliance Medic was assigned to the repair and that I would receive a call from them. Because of the urgency of getting the repair done before Thanksgiving, I called them an spoke to the ?dispatcher? (who was probably the owner) and told him the urgency of the matter and was happy when an appointment was made the very next day. The mechanic who came diagnosed the problem as a broken heating element and told me to call the office to find out when the new part would be installed. When I called the next day, the same person told me it would take a week to 10 days to order and receive the part and that he had not even ordered it yet (despite the fact that I had told him I needed it by Thanksgiving). I explained that this was not going to work for me and asked if he could expedite ordering the part by ordering it for overnight delivery. To my total surprise, he told me he does not do that and that I would have to wait ?in line? with his other customers. Even after I pleaded and begged him explaining that I have a refrigerator full of food and a house full of guests coming on Thanksgiving, and offered to pay any additional charges for overnight delivery. I mentioned that if Amazon could deliver a package in one day, he could do that as well. To my surprise and amazement, he wouldn?t change his mind. I then called AIG and explained the situation. Unlike the dispatcher, they were extremely receptive and they immediately place a call to the service and apparently convinced him to cooperate with me because he called me right back and agreed to order the part by overnight if I would pay the additional charge. I agreed and he said the part would be in on Friday. He did call me on Friday and an appointment was made to install the part on Tuesday between 1: 00 PM and 5:00 PM. Needless to say, I was relieved and figured the problem was solved. On Friday, when no one came by 3:00 PM, I called to confirm but got an answering machine. I left a message to call me back to confirm but by 4:45 PM, when no one called, I called again but got the answering machine again. I left a message demanding a return call immediately and that he schedule the installation of the part the next day, Wednesday (one day before Thanksgiving). A few minutes later, about 5:15 PM I told my wife the situation. Needless to say she was not happy and she place a call to the company. Amazingly, the call was answered and she was advised the mechanic would be over by 6:00 PM. Fortunately, the mechanic did come and installed the part which allowed us to cook a very nice Thanksgiving meal. I never did find out why the mechanic did not come during the appointment time and why they didn?t have the courtesy to call me to say he was delayed. A few days later when AIG called me to follow up on the service, I told them what had occurred, that I was not satisfied with the service and that I recommended that the service be removed from their list of service providers. I do not recommend this service and would never use them again.

I needed my dryer repaired. I received a call from the owner/apparently-only-employee of Appliance Medic. I asked for a Saturday appointment. He said he couldn't that because it is the Sabbath (no problem). I asked for an am appointment. He said he doesn't come to my area in the mornings. I asked for the latest appointment possible in the evening. He said that would be 4 pm. I asked for 4 pm on Friday. He said he couldn't do that because he had to be home before dark because of the Sabbath. (Again, no problem). So I asked for a refund of the $89 I'd paid to Angie's List for his offer. He then said he would come on Sunday because he "likes to help people." Told him he didn't need do that but he insisted. Said he would call back to confirm. No call. No show too. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Wasted a week with this guy.

We had used them once before and had a great experience. This second time he took our money, never performed the service, and hasn't returned the money. The same fellow seems to answer every call, so not sure if it's just him. We call them regularly, and they don't answer, don't respond to VMs, and when he does pick up and we remind him we are calling about the money he owes us, he hangs up or puts us on hold indefinitely. The last time I did get in touch with him (about a month ago), he said he doesn't send checks in the mail (not sure how he pays bills/taxes). I have since been emailing him, providing a paypal link that he can use to reimburse me by credit card. Nothing. Hopefully small claims court will just speed this whole thing up--real shame it should come to that.

I found Appliance Medic listed on LG Service Technician site, and called them after another appliance repair company came to my house and was unable to fix my dryer. Appliance Medic was very responsive. I left a voice mail message on the weekend and they called me back on Sunday. They came within two days (immediately after snow cleared), took apart my dryer, installed replacement part, and were done within an hour. They were very diligent, confirming by phone before coming, and calling hours after repair completed to confirm all ok. Excellent repair person experience!!!

Technician was punctual efficient and professional.

Technician carefully evaluated three units and offered advise on which dryer to repair. Zalmen also offered advice on my prospective purchase of a washer and dryer before he was offered the job. Very generous and honest businessman.
