It went very well. They were on time, and they worked diligently. They also did the roof on my shed as well. They gave me an attic for no extra charge. They did all the clean up and I just love them I certainly would recommend them others.

I like him. He's just a really good guy. He is polite. I think he's absolutely fair. He cleaned up everything and did a wonderful job. He told me what he was going to do, what the plans were.
Description of Work: Malivia Carpentry gave me an estimate for my roof. He also looked at the attic because I was told I have a mold in there but when he checked it, it wasn't mold at all. It was just a water stain. He also came to do the drywall for me. He repaired my basement wall years ago because I had to have it waterproofed.

.Initially it went well, however, after I complained about a detail of the job- the skirt board was installed without shims(which would allow moisture behind it to dry out, preventing rot) and the height of the skirt board obviously didn't match the origional. I asked them to take it off and trim it, they didn't. They asked me if I wanted the concrete steps replaced, and I agreed. They said they would not use precut stringers, because they wanted to be sure that the new steps would meet the grade. That didn't happen. The front steps are several inches above the grade, with no footing underneath them. When I inquired about the footings (was it broken? were they going to reuse the origional one?) they said they would build the steps first then pour the concrete afterwards. That didn't happen. The side steps are actually several inches below grade, again, there was no footing provided. The top treads were loose, and on the side steps had a small improper width board (as the top tread). The rear steps were demolished, but they abandoned the job and left me with a drop from the rear door to the ground and a pile of debris in my yard. The steps are not safe and have to be replaced. The company was paid up to date, but they stopped work on a friday with no explanation. When I called, I got no answer but I got an e-mail later that they had a problem and Joel would get back to me when they could return. I didn't hear anything for some time. When I did call, my calls were not answered or returned. After more tham a month, Joel returned an e-mail, but gave no new information or return date. In the meantime the person that recommended Malivia Carpentry told me Joel had a grudge against me, and not to expect him to come back. So I complained to the BBB. Joel responded by misrepresenting what had happened here (he lied): I was difficult, I didn't give him permission to continue with the work, I didn't know what I wanted. Then he did an about face and told me and the BBB he had a change of heart and he would make good on any deficiencies in the work. He would come to my house and inspect the job himself (by the way, he didn't do the job, two of his employees did). If he did come here he never met with or discussed the matter with me. He told them he came here inspected everything and found the work done professionally and to code and as far as he was concerned the matter was closed. I was always willing to work out problems but Mr. Piccone would not and has no concern if he harms his customers.
Description of Work: Installing decking on a wraparound porch; installing the skirtboard and quarter-round moulding, fabricating new column bases; demolishing concrete steps and disposing of debris in dumpster.
